SAVANNAH, Ga. — Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff stood before hundreds of potential voters Saturday to deliver what he called “a report from our nation’s capital” a half-year into President Donald Trump’s second term. How voters react in Georgia, which has taken center stage in the Trump era as a key battleground state, could help determine how the final two years of Trump’s presidency go — and how (or whether) Ossoff’s young political career continues. ''It turns out that when Donald Trump said he was going to fight for working-class Americans, what he really meant was he was going to take

Comments:

It's the same old liberal tripe. I guess whoever is filling Ossoff's coffers wants to go full-blown woke.

I'm from GA and we watched the machine in Atlanta steal the elections. Ossoff has accomplished nothing in the Senate; he is Ga's version of Beto O'Rourke. Ga's Senators are the two worse in the state's history. Hope we can beat the cheat and get someone better.

#5 is correct. I am also from Georgia and the malfeasance that went on to steal the election for Ossoff was obvious. Now that DJT is in the WH, maybe the criminals in Atlanta will be afraid to try it again. Either that or they will be so desperate that they will double down.

Living in Middle Georgia, I am sickened by elections being stolen by a few individuals in the Atlanta elections offices. Blatant violations of the law are ignored, and no one is ever punished, so the cheating will continue until it’s fixed.

The Democratic Party’s credibility with voters has plummeted even further since the 2024 election, raising alarm bells as the party looks to rebuild ahead of the midterms and the next presidential election, according to a poll obtained by The Hill. The poll, conducted between May and June by Unite the Country, a Democratic super PAC, showed voters perceived the Democratic Party as “out of touch,” “woke” and “weak.” The party has seen its support erode with white men, Hispanic men and working-class voters across the board, with approval ratings sitting below 35 percent across those demographics. And enthusiasm within the

Late on Tuesday, we had another missive from the mists of the Supreme Court’s shadow docket—an unsigned opinion that confirmed for the moment the president’s right to clear-cut the entire administrative structure of the executive branch’s agencies and departments. From The Guardian. Six months after the devastating Palisades and Eaton fires, California Gov. Gavin Newsom unveiled $101 million in funding Tuesday for “multifamily low-income housing development” that will “contribute to a more equitable and resilient Los Angeles." The priority is for “geographic proximity to the fire perimeters of the Eaton, Hughes, and Palisades fires.” Earlier this year, The Center Square broke news that California state law and a local Los Angeles ordinance require fire-destroyed rent-protected housing — which includes all apartments in the city built before October 1978 — be replaced with low-income housing. ATLANTA — President Donald Trump and other Republicans have long criticized states that take weeks to count their ballots after Election Day. This year has seen a flurry of activity to address it. Part of Trump’s executive order on elections, signed in March but held up by lawsuits, takes aim at one of the main reasons for late vote counts: Many states allow mailed ballots to be counted even if they arrive after Election Day. The U.S. Supreme Court last month said it would consider whether a challenge in Illinois can proceed in a case that is among several Republican-backed

The monstrous, swift-moving flood that swept through the Hill Country of Texas on Friday, killing at least 27 people and leaving many more missing, was a flash flood, the nation's top storm-related killer. Among those missing are more than 20 girls attending a summer camp. WINDSOR HEIGHTS, Iowa — It is big and it is beautiful, President Donald Trump says. But for many Democratic leaders, the tax break and spending cut package passed by Trump’s Republican allies in Congress on Thursday represents the key to the Democratic Party’s resurgence. Even before the final vote, Democratic officials were finalizing ambitious plans for rallies, voter registration drives, attack ads, bus tours and even a multiday vigil, all intended to highlight the most controversial elements of Trump’s “big beautiful” bill: deep cuts to the nation’s safety net that will leave nearly 12 million more people without health coverage

For months, the signs have been impossible to ignore: the Democratic Party is in freefall. Poll after poll shows voters turning away in droves—disillusioned by the party’s radical agenda, frustrated by its lack of leadership, and convinced it no longer represents their values. The 2024 elections were a political earthquake, and in the aftermath, Democrats have been left picking through the rubble of a once-dominant coalition. The party’s “next generation” of leaders—Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Jasmine Crockett—have all the gravitas of a student council president demanding longer lunch periods and less homework. That includes getting rid of various departments centered on "diversity, equity, and inclusion." I'm going to guess that includes those who gave the order to fly pride-progress flags at U.S. embassies. In response, some flooded the lobby of the State Department
