Democrats see Trump’s big bill as key

WINDSOR HEIGHTS, Iowa — It is big and it is beautiful, President Donald Trump says. But for many Democratic leaders, the tax break and spending cut package passed by Trump’s Republican allies in Congress on Thursday represents the key to the Democratic Party’s resurgence. Even before the final vote, Democratic officials were finalizing ambitious plans for rallies, voter registration drives, attack ads, bus tours and even a multiday vigil, all intended to highlight the most controversial elements of Trump’s “big beautiful” bill: deep cuts to the nation’s safety net that will leave nearly 12 million more people without health coverage

Comments:

An anti-Trump rally in Iowa barely netted 100 people. At least 1 attendee said it was unimpressive and poorly coordinated.

Notice that democrats are always against spending when the money actually goes back the the American people instead of paying for wars and pet projects? Cuts to American benefits are for people who did not QUALIFY for those benefits in the first place. I hope that the Trump administration will keep pointing this out.

Democrats have nothing, the tax cuts happen immediately whereas the Medicaid cuts happen a year and a half down the road. If the economy grows less people will need Medicaid so it will be a non issue. If it looks like it’s going to cost them in the midterms they can always put it back, if that’s the case the fiscal hawks will feel like Lucy and the football.

So, they are against tax cuts, and in favor of the biggest tax increase in American history? How could they ever lose on that platform? Things could change, of course, but by the time the mid-term elections roll around, I expect the economy will be booming, a tremendous number (I wish all, but not holding my breath) of illegal aliens will be gone, and we will have a revenue surplus which will go toward reducing the national debt. Also, because they'll be gone, illegals won't be sucking up public money nor crowding emergency rooms, to name a few benefits. Now, if the domestic terrorists, AKA the DemoRoid party, would self-deport!

First of all 12 million is a rank exaggeration. Secondly, illegals, double dippers and those who will fail any reasonable work fitness test comprise most of the rest. People who are deserving under current law and deprived because Trump is Hitler is next to zero. Republicans should consistently nail this lie.

The monstrous, swift-moving flood that swept through the Hill Country of Texas on Friday, killing at least 27 people and leaving many more missing, was a flash flood, the nation's top storm-related killer. Among those missing are more than 20 girls attending a summer camp. A "watch" means conditions are favorable for a flood and people should be prepared, but hazardous conditions might not develop. But the watch was upgraded to a flood warning overnight, a

Democrats were flustered that they didn’t get a heads-up that Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries would delay President Donald Trump’s "Big, Beautiful Bill" on Thursday with an hours-long speech on the House floor. "No one is upset Hakeem wanted to do this, but to not tell members, 'be prepared, book multiple flights, be flexible,'" a House Democrat told Axios, who was reportedly upset about the challenge of rebooking flights so close to the Fourth of July. Another House Democrat told Axios that a "heads up would have been nice." On Thursday afternoon, Jeffries beat the record for a House floor speech

One year from now, you will not be able to turn around without receiving notice of America’s semiquincentennial jubilee. The jollity of the occasion will not change the fact that it will be seven years premature. The historical significance assigned to July 4, 1776, the date the Declaration of Independence was adopted by the Second Continental Congress, is befuddling. Without victory in the Revolutionary War, which began over a year earlier, any declarations regarding American independence made during the summer of 1776 would have the same significance today as the “declarations of independence” made by the 11 Confederate States in 1860-61.
