The Trump administration clinched another win today, with the Supreme Court shredding a restraining order on a rogue lower court’s ruling that prevented the government from reorganizing its workforce. For now, the mass layoffs that were put on hold are back on (via The Hill): The Supreme Court on Tuesday lifted a judge’s order preventing the Trump administration from conducting mass layoffs across the federal bureaucracy, for now. The court in its unsigned ruling said Trump’s February executive order directing federal agencies to prepare for reductions in force, or RIFs, is likely lawful. It enables federal agencies to resume implementing Trump’s directive,

FTA:The ruling was 8-1, with Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson dissenting. ...Jackson got cooked in the opinion, only it was by Sonia Sotomayor—she had to remind Jackson that the Court can only opine on what’s been presented before them Cool. KBJ was out there on a limb by herself. Unwise Latina took a turn at swatting her down this time.

I don't see how this resolves much. Each firing or reduction can be appealed by a lower court. So if there are 5000 firings are there potentially 5000 appeals to the firing?

Ketanji just thought that because the "majority" gets to write the "Opinion" that it would only be "fair" and "equitable" if the "minority" got to write their opinions too, and it could be about anything they felt like writing about, the weather, Trump, the price of eggs, Trump,... Poor Ketanji, she's so accustomed to living life in the "minority" that she thinks her mission on the Supreme Court is to disagree with the majority, no matter what!

Jackson is a profoundly stupid woman who has no idea what role the SC plays. She actually thinks that she was appointed to rule based on her personal opinions and that the Constitution and actual laws are irrelevant. She can’t even write a dissent that makes any legal sense. Without DEI she would have never made it through law school. Thanks to Biden’s handlers and idiot Republicans for appointing this moron to the court.

My wish is the KBJ would be so embarrassed by her fellow judges she just stops going to work and resigns. However, she's so dim that she's probably too dim to be embarrassed. Plus, she has a job for life, as long as she doesn't do anything impeachable.

The Biden administration temporarily waved in over half a million foreigners with no concrete strategy on how to keep their stay in the country temporary, a government watchdog found. Between July 2021 to January 2025, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) opened the door to well over 800,000 noncitizens through various parole programs, but had no “defined process” to address their parole expiration, according to the DHS Office of Inspector General (OIG). The report also concluded that the Biden administration did not initiate enforcement actions for those whose parole had expired and had no assurances that former parolees were even legally present. “DHS had defined policies, processes, procedures,

President Donald Trump is growing the nation’s workforce by filling open jobs with native-born Americans, rather than importing more migrants to take such work, Bureau of Labor Statistics data reveals. “Compared with the start of the year, foreign-born employment is down by over half a million workers and American-born employment is up by over two million,” Breitbart News Economics Editor John Carney reported. And while hundreds of thousands of native-born Americans are scoring jobs in Trump’s economy, the all-important labor force participation rate rose from 61.4 percent to 61.8 percent, with the highest level ever of native-born Americans employed. Everyone knows that the "big, beautiful" tax bill signed into law on the Fourth of July lowers tax burdens for families and businesses. It also averts a $4 trillion tax increase starting next year. That's enough reason to celebrate heartily. But what isn't well known is that this new law doesn't just change tax policy. It includes dozens of other long-sought policy goals -- what I call "hidden gems." Here is a list of some of the major policy victories: The law is the most aggressive federal advancement of school choice by allowing low-income parents to direct education dollars to private, charter, or Catholic schools that are better for their kids.

And while most states are coordinating with federal law enforcement, tightening security, and staying alert, California has done the unthinkable: It’s opted out.
