Trump’s NATO Win

The essence of deterrence is credibility. The best way to stop Russia from attacking even a small NATO country — one of the Baltic states, say — is for Vladimir Putin to be convinced that the risk of major retaliation is too great to take. This is why President Trump’s reaction to the commitment by NATO members at their recent summit to more than double their defense-spending target is welcome, even if a partial opt-out for Spain is not. NATO, said Trump, was not a “rip-off,” high praise from this president. NATO’s European members “really love their countries . . . and we’re here to help them.” Critically, Trump emphasized

President Donald Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” cleared a key procedural hurdle in the U.S. Senate late Saturday night, pushing the massive spending package one step closer to the president’s desk. The vote on a motion to proceed to final debate on the bill passed with 51 yeas and 49 nays. Every Democrat and two Republicans, Sens. Thom Tillis, N.C., and Rand Paul, Ky., voted against it. The actual voting took hours and the measure only passed after three Republican holdouts — Sens. Mike Lee of Utah, Rick Scott of Florida and Cynthia Lummus of Wyoming — folded and voted yes.

After getting schlonged by President Trump in November, Democrats did what they always do after a big loss: entered a cocoon of denial. Post-election poll after poll showed 2024’s Big Loser, Kamala Harris, with a commanding lead over her closest rivals, former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA). What a difference six months can make. Not only has Kamala Kollapsed in the latest poll of 2028 Democrat contenders, no one’s excited about her potential run for California governor. And now we come to the poll…

The Islamic Republic of Iran nearly succeeded in assassinating former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, according to a new book called "2024: How Trump Retook the White House and the Democrats Lost America," which was obtained by The Washington Post one month ahead of its publication in July. The report published by The Washington Post on Friday cited the book saying that the time and place where the assassination nearly succeeded was while Pompeo was in a hotel in Paris three years ago. The book provides no further details than that, the report said. Last September, then-presidential candidate Donald Trump and his campaign were informed by intelligence

The Supreme Court’s 6-3 decision in Trump v. The left’s favorite judicial weapon just got neutered, and the hypocrisy is impossible to ignore. The liberal wing of the court didn’t do itself any favors, either. Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson’s dissent was so horrible that Justice Amy Coney Barrett felt compelled to call it out in the majority opinion. The National People’s Congress (NPC), the highest legislative body in China, announced on Friday that Vice Admiral Li Hanjun and nuclear engineer Liu Shipeng were expelled for unspecified reasons. On the same day, Admiral Miao Hua was kicked out of the Central Military Commission (CMC), the governing body of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA). Li, Liu, and Miao appear to be the latest targets of dictator Xi Jinping’s endless “anti-corruption crusade,” a rolling purge of top officials who have displeased or embarrassed the absolute ruler for one reason or another. Thomas Pham LeGro made a court appearance in U.S. District Court on Friday, after being arrested on Thursday. LeGro was arrested following a search of his residence in which agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) found “11 videos depicting child sexual abuse material” on his work computer, according to a press release. No doubt that leftists will scream that the Court has backed the "Christian Nationalists" or make some similar complaint, so it's hilarious that the case that opens the door for parents to keep their kids from being subjected to alphabet ideology in the schools will forever be known as Mahmoud v Taylor. Mahmoud. That is funny. At the root of the case is Maryland's assertion that allowing parents to opt their children out of being indoctrinated with all sorts of alphabet ideology propaganda was too large a burden for the school to bear if they wanted to educate kids. We all know by now that President Donald Trump won the 2024 election by some pretty big numbers, but a new study out from the Pew Research Center gives us a closer look at the people behind those numbers. The news is better than we thought, and it was already pretty good. According to the analysis, voters who supported Trump in 2024 are "far more racially and ethnically diverse" than they were in 2020 or 2016. //snip//The conclusion? "...if all Americans eligible to vote in 2024 had cast ballots, the overall margin in the popular vote likely would not have been much different." Trump still would have won.

On Friday afternoon, President Trump, in his words, "terminat[ed]" the current trade talks the U.S. and Canada have been having on tariffs, effective immediately." Remarkably it was just 11 days ago when the president was forced by his duties as America's commander in chief to cut short his attendance at the G7 summit in Canada, readers might recall. Although, the U.S. contingent remained behind, and chalked up a trade deal with one of our allies, the United Kingdom. Now, Canadian officials have acted in a way that the Trump administration had decided to react on in return. As I said, on Friday Trump made

As RedState reported, the Trump administration scored a major victory on Friday after the Supreme Court ruled that district court-level nationwide injunctions exceeded judicial authority. That will throw a wrench into the left-wing strategy of seeking universal relief in a select few left-wing jurisdictions across the country and hopefully return some actual balance to the separation of powers within the U.S. government. Of course, while the decision was a victory for common sense and for voters who would prefer judges not overstep their bounds to essentially operate as president, it was a defeat for Democrats who have relied on that abuse to remain in power even when they lose.

Justice Amy Coney Barrett has gotten a bad rap lately for siding with the leftist wing of the Supreme Court on a few cases, but if you ever needed a reminder of why ACB was such a pivotal addition to the Supreme Court, look no further than her latest majority opinion, which brutally destroyed Ketanji Brown Jackson for her moronic dissent in Trump v. CASA, Inc. In a 6-3 decision that handed President Trump a major victory, the Court put the brakes on runaway district judges issuing nationwide injunctions — an abuse that’s become the left’s favorite tool for stalling any policy they dislike. Jackson’s dissent veered into unhinged territory

Our South Carolina neighborhood has green cans for garbage and blue cans for recycling. All our neighbors dutifully separate their garbage. We don’t, and we don’t for a very specific reason. What I discovered a couple of years ago is that, while different trucks drive around collecting blue and green cans on garbage day, at the end of the shift, the trucks dump all the garbage into the same landfill. It’s a scam that, according to my local representative, makes people feel good about themselves. When I lived in Marin County, California, we also had to separate our garbage. That wasn’t surprising, though

Girls don’t usually fight. There are sound reasons for this – reasons of general decorum, biology, hormones, jewelry, dresses and hairdos. But when they do, boy oh boy, it can be a doozy. It happened yesterday at the Supreme Court. The case was an appeal of a district court order issuing a “universal injunction” against President Trump’s executive order seeking to abolish “birthright citizenship.” Birthright citizenship is the kind you get if you’re born in America even if your parents are here illegally. The 14th Amendment seems to provide for it, although there is a non-frivolous argument that it does not.

Well this was certainly unexpected.
