Well this was certainly unexpected. The leftist Washington Post dropped a devastating op-ed Friday by its editorial board that ripped into democratic socialist mayoral hopeful Zohran Mamdani and said that he would be “bad for New York.” As we reported, the political novice won a shocking victory in Tuesday's Democrat NYC mayoral primary, beating disgraced former Governor Andrew Cuomo and putting himself in prime position for the November general election. Usually the liberal rag is little more than a mouthpiece for the DNC, so to see them go after a Democrat this hard is a stunner and reveals two things:

If only this were taught in all the schools: "The goal of socialism is communism." This quote by Vladimir Lenin encapsulates his vision for an ideal society, where socialism acts as a stepping stone towards the ultimate goal of achieving communism. see this link for more: https://www.socratic-method.com/quote-meanings/vladimir-lenin-the-goal-of-socialism-is-communism Democrats prefer the term 'socialism' because it sounds less evil. Sociable!, like an ice cream social. But that is like calling arsenic a vitamin.

Sometimes a bad thing has to burn and crash to permanently get rid of it. If New York City wants to elect a socialist-communist as their next mayor, chances are it will be good for the rest of the country to watch the smoke. Then after that smoke clears maybe New York City will get the word and elect a future competent mayor.

"His signature ideas are “city-owned grocery stores,” no bus fares, freezing rent on 1 million regulated apartments and increasing the minimum wage to $30." These "give away" ideas have been tried and fail, miserably, for a simple reason. None of these things are free to do. Government, which is broke, pays for them at the lowest possible cost. That means low wage, low qualified people are carrying things out and the quality is low. Apartments on rent control are maintained at the bare minimum. Buses will be breaking down because regular maintenance is too costly. The food quality will be poor. Minimum wage of $30 will force many businesses to lay people off or close because they cannot function with expensive labor. All this is well known. It was also a concern of the founders that people would vote themselves in such services and cause ruin wherever they did. This DOES happen. People move away from such destroyed areas. Businesses leave. The level of service and quality is rock bottom. Other people see what happens and know not to repeat the same idiocy. Yet the Left keeps trying to sell this garbage and there are always fools willing to sign on. The worst thing is, the dems have been selling "soft" socialism for decades and it doesn't work well but is survivable. Media hides the bad impacts and come up with alternative excuses for why things aren't working out. We have failing public schools. We know it. But there is always an "explanation" like teachers are underpaid. But in areas that pay teachers more, kids don't do any better. But finally, we are starting to break through, showing that strong free market based ideas WORK while government solutions do not. Plus, they are usually less expensive in the end because government promises to save money do not work. It's nice to know that the dopey WaaPoo has a "red line" but too little, too late.

For what it's worth, I have a different take on the WaPo's article. It's not that they don't want Mamdani to win, it's that he has 'ripped' the mask from the democrat party to show what they are really after. The populace for the most part, still believe the 'rats are good people and aren't out to destroy the U.S. and this guy is giving us a heads up on what to expect when the communists take over and the WaPo know that it's too early, people aren't yet indoctrinated enough to vote for them nationwide.

In fact it is the opposite. Socialism is the perfect goal. Communism is an imperfect but justified step to reach there. All the 'rough' edges of communism - suspension of individual liberties, confiscation of property, harsh prison system, indoctrination, even militarization is all justified under that pretext. Anyone who espouses socialism is saying communism without actually articulating it.

Democrats are right to be worried about the party’s shift to the left that Zohran Mamdani’s surprise victory in New York City’s mayoral primary implies. That’s because the party was already on the outs with a majority of American voters, according to newly released data from the Pew Research Institute. Pew conducts a biennial poll known as the Validated Voter Survey — considered one of the best ways to understand what happened in the prior election, because its survey results are cross-indexed with each state’s voter files. Only respondents who are shown to have actually voted are counted.

Europol reports indicate that Europe is now home to tens of thousands of radicalized individuals. Will people who criticize Islam be dragged through the courts by a desperate regime, while those who outspokenly fantasize about murdering Jews are granted a blank check? Is quoting Islamic law "inflammatory"? The answer is completely arbitrary. The European Court of Human Rights often upholds convictions if statements about Islam are deemed to disrupt "religious peace" or "target Muslims". This subjective determination reflects a legal trend in Europe to prioritize "social cohesion" over freedom of speech, unlike the U.S. First Amendment.

Democrats, and some Republicans, have said that the White House overstepped its authority when it failed to seek the advice of Congress and they want to know more about the intelligence that Trump relied on when he authorized the attacks.

In less than two weeks, Trump has shown that his impact on American history has centered on his persuasive powers and using them to execute leadership. While elites struggle to understand the appeal of Trump and conservative populism, what they miss, what they have always missed, is the nuance of what “Make America Great Again” meant to voters. The media saw it as a vulgar attempt at nationalism, often brazenly calling it so. But it never was.
