The word “badass” was bandied about a lot after the first assassination attempt on Donald Trump last year.
Famously, the bloodied Republican candidate raised his fist in defiance.
In a different context, the same pungent word applies to his 2 a.m. strike on Iranian nuclear facilities.
Trump the TV star has a knack for the theatrical and grand gesture.
That obviously matters in domestic politics, but in international affairs, too, where projecting strength and command are just as important. We don’t know where the war heads from here, and need to learn more about the damage that was inflicted.
Still, it was an operation with a distinct and very useful element of Trump badassery.

President Trump caught the world off-guard Saturday by bombing three Iranian nuclear sites — after his apparently strategic deception indicating that such strikes weren’t imminent and trickery with the deployment of US Air Force B-2 bombers.
Trump said Thursday he would make a decision in the “next two weeks” to allow more time for negotiations, giving the sense of reprieve amid fevered speculation he might join Israel’s airstrikes.
“Based on the fact that there’s a substantial chance of negotiations that may or may not take place with Iran in the near future, I will make my decision whether or not to go within the next two weeks,”

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei declared “the battle begins” in an ominous post Tuesday, hours after President Trump called for Iran’s “unconditional surrender.”
“In the name of #Haider, the battle begins. Ali returns to #Khaybar with his Zulfiqar.” Khamenei wrote on X in Farsi, referring to Islam’s first imam, Ali, who won the Battle of Khaybar with the sword Zulfiqar.
Khamenei’s sinister message comes hours after the Islamic Republic’s state media also warned of a “surprise” on Tuesday night into Wednesday that the “world will remember for centuries.” The Israeli Defense Force reported multiple air raid sirens in northern Israel early Wednesday morning due to a “hostile aircraft infiltration.”

Ex-CNN correspondent Jim Acosta joked in an interview posted Monday about President Donald Trump's deceased former wife's burial site and called her an example of an immigrant "doing the jobs that Americans don’t want to do."N Acosta, speaking on a "No Kings" Day episode of "The Contrarian" podcast with Jennifer Rubin, blasted Trump not only for the ICE raids, but argued he is a hypocrite on the immigration issue because of his immigrant wives, including his late first wife Ivana. "Where are the ICE raids at the Trump properties? Could somebody call ICE on the Trump golf course in Virginia?

President Trump warned Iran that it would face the US military “at levels never seen before” if it attacked America’s forces or land in a scathing message to the Islamic regime.
Trump said early Sunday the US was not involved in Israel’s overnight attack on its Middle East foe as the two countries continue to exchange aerial assaults on each other.
“The US had nothing to do with the attack on Iran, tonight,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “If we are attacked in any way, shape or form by Iran, the full strength and might of the US Armed Forces will come down on you at levels never seen before.

In what I can only describe as a masterclass in political demolition, Rep. Elise Stefanik delivered a withering takedown of New York Gov. Kathy Hochul during a House committee hearing on sanctuary state policies. The exchange was so brutal and methodical that it may have effectively ended Hochul's political career before it even had a chance to flourish.
Stefanik, who is reportedly considering a gubernatorial run herself, came armed with facts while Hochul appeared woefully unprepared to defend her own policies. From the opening moments, this wouldn't be a typical political theater exchange — this was a prosecutor methodically building her case against a defendant who had no viable defense.

Justice is coming to the Justice Department under Attorney General Pam Bondi as prosecutors involved in the Biden administration’s lawfare against Donald Trump and his supporters are gradually rooted out.
The latest is Ahmed Baset, one of the DOJ team who dusted off an old Civil War era charge of “seditious conspiracy” against members of the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers to align with the fake Dem narrative that Trump was an insurrectionist.
He also teamed up with Jack Smith on the Get-Trump Special Counsel investigation, which they hoped would land Trump in jail.

Israel has reportedly bombed the capital of Iran in a preemptive strike against the Islamic regime that has vowed to wipe Israel off the map.
The Israeli Air Force launched its attack late Thursday on Iran’s nuclear program, according to The Times of Israel. “Home Front Command spokesman says Israel could experience ‘heavy missile attack’ in coming hours, but no fire from Iran as yet and no need to go to bomb shelter," the outlet noted, adding that Israel has closed its airspace.

Israel launched air strikes inside Iran late Thursday, the latest effort by the Jewish state to destroy Tehran’s nuclear program.
The targets of the operation, the extent of the damage, and any casualties were not immediately clear.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz confirmed the attack, saying in a statement: “Following the State of Israel’s preemptive strike against Iran, a missile and drone attack against the State of Israel and its civilian population is expected in the immediate future.” At the White House earlier Thursday, President Trump said an Israeli airstrike “looks like it’s something that could very well happen” — but stopped short of saying an operation was “imminent.”

It's the fifth night of the "peaceful" anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles, and the lawlessness is spreading throughout the country like, well, like wildfire. NBC reported that demonstrations were planned in cities like New York, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, and Atlanta on Tuesday, and it looks like some of them are beginning to resemble what's going on in Southern California. The clip, posted by Frontlines - TPUSA, shows the woman being blocked by protesters impeding traffic in New York City. You can see signs from some of the agitators reading "ICE" with a New York Yankees symbol and a fist. Mexican flags wave in the background.

Don't blame Gavin Newsom for the violent L.A. ICE "protests." He's only the governor of California presiding over the chaos he helped cause by running a proudly "sanctuary state"--forcing taxpayers to pay for all manner of support for illegal aliens—while presiding over open air drug use, "homelessness," and "insurrection." He's supported and endorsed the people running these protests (see my story nearby). Newsom would like you to believe, however, that it's President Donald Trump's fault that these bullhorn-spewing, pre-produced-sign-waving "protesters" have become violent. Indeed, these agents provocateur hope that the rabble take the bait and cause more pain.
That’s Trump’s fault, naturally.

We've covered the insanity in Los Angeles over the past two days.
But that's not the only place where anti-ICE radicals are getting out of hand. It was crazy in New York City on Saturday as well, where a mob of about 150 people tried to stop ICE outside of the U.S. Immigration Court.
Things got violent there, and now the Trump administration has called out the National Guard to help quell the anti-ICE rioting that has been going on. California Gov. Gavin Newsom threw a tantrum over it. Meanwhile,
