Yes, #1. It was an evil ad promulgated by a thoroughly unprincipled press agent on behalf of a despicably dishonest candidate for reelection directed against a genuinely heroic and decent alternative. Senator Goldwater deserved better in 1964. So did America.

Back when National Review still had something to say, they did a cover story on entitled, "Bill Moyers: Middlebrow Exalted." It was a thoroughly appropriate takedown. Some people leave the earth worse than they found it. President Johnson was one. Bill Moyers is another.

Every time I saw Moyers do anything on TV I liked him less afterwards. Smug, condescending, above it all and a complete shill for the left while he made a fortune from government handouts.

Bill Moyers was a mediocre communicator who found an audience in self-congratulatory, self-important and closed-minded liberals just like himself. Among themselves and to their fans they were called the “intelligentsia” and “the best and the brightest”. To the rest of us they were just insufferable prigs and Moyers was their reigning king, the sort of TV personality that you wanted to miss but would never seem to go away.

I thought he was already dead. As others have noted, his histrionics combined with Hollywood ajitprop won the election for LBJ in '64... though I think Goldwater's stalwart ideological spokesperson (Ronaldus Magnus) positively buried Moyers years later in spirit (if not the flesh), and Moyers never recovered from that.

Another upside to such a wide range of on demand media today, is that a plodding bore like Moyers has few if any places to drone on and on. Being a mouthpiece for the criminal, LBJ, is an earned legacy for Bill.

On Friday afternoon, President Trump, in his words, "terminat[ed]" the current trade talks the U.S. and Canada have been having on tariffs, effective immediately." Remarkably it was just 11 days ago when the president was forced by his duties as America's commander in chief to cut short his attendance at the G7 summit in Canada, readers might recall. Although, the U.S. contingent remained behind, and chalked up a trade deal with one of our allies, the United Kingdom. Now, Canadian officials have acted in a way that the Trump administration had decided to react on in return. As I said, on Friday Trump made

As RedState reported, the Trump administration scored a major victory on Friday after the Supreme Court ruled that district court-level nationwide injunctions exceeded judicial authority. That will throw a wrench into the left-wing strategy of seeking universal relief in a select few left-wing jurisdictions across the country and hopefully return some actual balance to the separation of powers within the U.S. government. Of course, while the decision was a victory for common sense and for voters who would prefer judges not overstep their bounds to essentially operate as president, it was a defeat for Democrats who have relied on that abuse to remain in power even when they lose.

Justice Amy Coney Barrett has gotten a bad rap lately for siding with the leftist wing of the Supreme Court on a few cases, but if you ever needed a reminder of why ACB was such a pivotal addition to the Supreme Court, look no further than her latest majority opinion, which brutally destroyed Ketanji Brown Jackson for her moronic dissent in Trump v. CASA, Inc. In a 6-3 decision that handed President Trump a major victory, the Court put the brakes on runaway district judges issuing nationwide injunctions — an abuse that’s become the left’s favorite tool for stalling any policy they dislike. The court ruled 6-3 in Free Speech Coalition, Inc. v. Justice Elena Kagan dissented, joined by Justice Sonia Sotomayor and Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson. Justice Clarence Thomas wrote the opinion for the majority.

In a significant blow to the censorship apparatus in Germany, a court has lifted the ban imposed on the Compact magazine by former leftist Interior Minister Nancy Faeser for supposedly spreading right-wing “extremism”. The Federal Administrative Court in Leipzig affirmed this week that freedom of expression protections must be afforded to the press, including media outlets that oppose the current political order and, therefore, overturned the ban on Compact magazine, broadcaster NTV reports. In July of last year, then-Interior Minister Nancy Faeser issued a ban against the publication, arguing that it served as a “central mouthpiece for the right-wing extremist scene”.

Miller posted, “NYC is the clearest warning yet of what happens to a society when it fails to control migration,” referring to socialist Zohran Mamdani winning the Democratic primary for mayor. Representative Mark Pocan (D., Wis.) calmly responded, “Racist ***. Go back to 1930’s Germany.” X users were quick to point out that saying this to a Jewish man is a bad look. For example, the National Republican Congressional Committee called it “just the latest in a long line of outrageous, disgusting antisemitism” from Pocan.

We don't yet know the timeline, but the Trump administration appears to be planning to use the power the Supreme Court just acknowledged to deport Kilmar Abrego Garcia to a third-party country. As you may recall, two major legal issues were being argued about Abrego Garcia's deportation to El Salvador; the one, of course, was the "due process" argument, and the other was the fact that while he had been ordered deported, he was not to be deported to El Salvador due to his claimed fear for his life.

U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are putting together a comprehensive Middle East peace plan, beginning with an end to the war in Gaza within two weeks. According to a report in Israel Hayom, a publication that is considered supportive of Netanyahu, the following elements would be included in the plan: Gaza hostilities will conclude within two weeks, ending conditions will encompass four Arab nations (including Egypt and the United Arab Emirates) to administer the Gaza Strip, replacing the murderous Hamas terrorist organization. The remaining Hamas leadership will face exile to other countries, while the hostages gain freedom.

"Operation Midnight Hammer was the culmination of those 15 years of incredible work," General Dan 'Razin' Caine told reporters this morning in a briefing on the strikes in Iran. The Pentagon developed the GBU-57 bunker-buster in part for this mission, modeled its effects 'extensively,' and applied it directly on target. Gen. Cain made sure everyone knew that this was not an impulsive idea, but rather the fruition of a long-game strategy matched with the specter of acute weaponization -- and the will to defeat it. The story begins when Western intelligence first noticed the Iranians building something significant at Fordow, Cain explains:

The U.S. Supreme Court on Friday handed down its ruling in the parental rights case of Mahmoud v. Taylor. In a 6-3 decision, SCOTUS decided that parents do have the right to opt their elementary school-aged (pre-K through 8th grade) children out of classroom instruction that may include materials on gender and sexuality. The three dissenters were Justices Elena Kagan, Sonia Sotomayor, and Ketanji Brown Jackson. Writing for the majority, Justice Samuel Alito states that the parents involved were likely to succeed in their claim that the school system, by not allowing the opt-out on LGBTQ-themed classroom activities, was an unconstitutional burden on their religious liberties.
