A Los Angeles County official is allegedly being investigated by the FBI after she posted a video to social media calling on gang members to defend their territory from United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Cynthia Gonzalez, the vice mayor of Cudahy in southeast Los Angeles County, allegedly shared a video on social media late last week in which she appeared to encourage 18th Street and Florencia 13 gang members to protect their turf from ICE agents. "Not for nothing, but I want to know where all the cholos are at in Los Angeles," Gonzalez said in the video. "18th Street, Florencia — Where's the leadership at? Because you guys

It sounds as if Ms. Gonzalez might be gang affiliated herself, considering that she has directly called for street gangs to defend their "turf" from law enforcement. She might just have gotten herself into a peck of trouble. Now she's had to consult with criminal lawyers, trying to keep her criminal behind out of prison. My sympathy for her is approximately zero. Bwa ha ha ha.

FTA: Gonzalez reportedly deleted the video shortly after posting it. She was later visited by FBI agents at her home and is now allegedly under federal investigation, according to federal sources. I'd say they meant it he way they wrote it. They don't know for a fact that she is being investigated. They know what she said - it's on video - so there's no allegedly about that... Bill Melugin is a fine reporter - one of the best.

This is the perfect example of what happens with unfettered illegal immigration and allowing them to run roughshod over the city and country. THe illegals come into the country, protest and riot. Now a government official (Vice Mayor) is calling for gang members to rebel against ICE and immigration enforcement. What I find interesting is that these same people rioting and calling for gang member protection are the same people who will cry that they "afraid" of gang violence and persecution in their home country. As usual, they left their home country and came here to make where they live into a mini version of where they fled from, gangs and all.

The collapse of faith in the legacy media 8 replies

I’m frustrated when colleagues treat evening news as gospel, eagerly discussing 60 Minutes or Rachel Maddow’s take on events. After revelations like CBS’s edited Kamala Harris interview and plummeting cable news viewership, I’m stunned that anyone still trusts legacy media, especially people who otherwise seem rational. A February Gallup poll reveals that 31% of Americans trust media outlets, with 33% expressing “not much” trust and 36% none at all. This is a sharp decline from the 1970s, when 72% trusted mass media. The poll highlights a partisan divide: 54% of Democrats, 27% of independents, and 12% of Republicans trust mainstream media. This gap reflects confirmation bias,

It’s very early in the Iran nuclear story, but one thing is certain: What Barack Obama gave to Iran—millions and millions of dollars in cash on wooden pallets to make The Bomb—Trump just took back. Obama had no problems with Iran developing a nuclear weapon. The money he gave the Mullahs was to go toward that end. Islamophilic Obama thought that the country that vowed “Death to America” and “Death to Israel” had every right to have nuclear weapons with which to carry out those threats. Iran had been threatening to vaporize all of us with nukes for years. Obama apparently thought, “Why not?” and sent them

Think about this for a second, and I mean that: Is there anything good Democrats have added to your life? I’m not talking about “Democrats” ever – Thomas Jefferson having existed is obviously an easy net-plus for everyone’s life – but the current crop of Democrats who exist in Washington, DC, and pretty much anywhere else. The answer is no. AOC has no legislative accomplishments, and neither do any of the other members of the goon squad sniffing around her throne. A Hakeem Jeffries speech would not pass as a proof of life video. Nancy Pelosi may be legally dead.

We know now that Joe Biden and Merrick Garland corrupted and politicized the Department of Justice to a degree never before seen in American history. Biden’s DOJ went after the Catholic Church and parents who didn’t like what their school boards were doing, and that was shameful. But target number one for Biden’s DOJ was Biden’s biggest political rival, Donald Trump. The Biden administration was a banana republic era in American history, in which our government weaponized law enforcement to try to imprison its most dangerous opponent. Senator Chuck Grassley is the whistleblower’s friend, and he has done as much as anyone to expose the corruption of the Biden era.

On the 10th anniversary of Obergefell v. Hodges (federally mandating “marriage equality”), it’s proper to ask whether same-sex marriage is a good idea. One reason to think that it’s not is the existence of an epistemic oddity, an oddity which strongly undermines any argument for same-sex marriage (hereafter “SSM”). The oddity in question is characterized by what may be called an "underdetermination asymmetry." Start with the following very simple observation. There are two ultimate positions in the SSM debate, and only two. On the one hand, there’s love or care as the basis of marriage, as in the view of SSM’s

In attacking numerous military targets in Iran on June 13, 2025 as part of its Operation Rising Lion, Israel made good on a 1981 policy announced by then Prime Minister Menachem Begin: ‘We shall defend our people with all the means at our disposal. We will not allow any enemy to obtain weapons of mass destruction that can be turned against us.’ While we hear international criticism of Israel for the attack, long forgotten is that Tehran’s mullahs actually recognized this same need a year before the Israelis announced their doctrine. By 1976, Saddam Hussein had become the de facto leader of Iraq, officially becoming president in 1979.

In 2017, he [offered] “an ambitious synthesis on the causes of the empire’s decline.” He argued that “the fate of Rome was played out by emperors and barbarians, senators and generals, soldiers, and slaves.

This is a fair question from Matt Continetti, who recites some of the relevant quotations before posing it. I'll add to the list. President Bill Clinton described a nuclearlzed Iran as intolerable and signed the Iran Nonproliferation Act of 2000, "which authorize[d] him to take punitive action against individuals or organizations known to be providing material aid to weapons of mass destruction (WMD) programs in Iran." President George W. Bush intoned in 2008 that "permitting the world’s leading sponsor of terror to possess the world’s deadliest weapon would be an unforgivable betrayal of future generations."

Zohran Mamdani, winner of the Democratic Party’s New York City mayoral primary, is overflowing with Marxist ideas of how to govern that are so lousy that it’s hard to believe he got more than his own vote in Tuesday’s election. Each of them is horrendous, from free bus services to rent control to punitive taxes on those who create prosperity, but none are quite so laughable as his proposal to establish a chain of city-run grocery stores. Mamdani’s campaign literature – overflowing with empty leftist jargon – says if elected he “will create a network of city-owned grocery stores focused on keeping prices low, not making a profit.”

Enjoying a surge of support from progressive and younger voters, democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani is a big step closer to becoming the first Muslim mayor of the nation's most populous city. While the Associated Press had yet to project a winner in New York City's Democratic Party mayoral primary Tuesday night, former Gov. Andrew Cuomo saw the writing on the wall, telling supporters at an election night gathering that Mamdani "won." Mamdani, a 33-year-old state assembly member from Queens who is originally from Uganda, topped the former three-term governor and nine other candidates in a crowded primary field in an election that was determined by ranked-choice voting.

The Iranian foreign ministry admitted that their nuclear facilities were “badly damaged” by U.S. strikes over the weekend after reports surfaced about a low-confidence U.S. intelligence assessment suggesting otherwise. Numerous outlets reported Wednesday on an early intelligence assessment from the Defense Intelligence Agency suggesting the U.S. strikes only set Iran’s nuclear program back a few months. The White House strongly disputed the intelligence assessment and criticized the leakers within the intelligence apparatus. “This alleged ‘assessment’ is flat-out wrong and was classified as ‘top secret’ but was still leaked to CNN by an anonymous, low-level loser in the intelligence community.

They celebrated the failure of America and Israel. Hardly mentioned in CNN’s report was that the document itself noted that its conclusions were merely “preliminary” and were expressed with only “low confidence.”
