New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani’s plan to create a network of city-owned grocery stores to drive down food costs is facing pushback from the industry, with the head of a Manhattan-based grocery chain threatening to sell or close the business if Mamdani is elected. John Catsimatidis, the CEO of grocery chain Gristedes, found fault with Mamdani’s plan, saying the business couldn't compete in the market if there are city-run supermarkets. "If the city of New York is going socialist, I will definitely close, or sell, or move or franchise the Gristedes locations," Catsimatidis told FOX Business. He will

New Yorkers eager to know whether former Gov. Andrew Cuomo or Assembly Member Zohran Mamdani will win the June 24 New York City mayoral Democratic primary are going to be waiting a while. Unofficial results likely won't be announced by the city Board of Elections until July 1, and the results won't be officially certified until July 14. Since 2021, in primaries the city uses ranked choice voting, a system that allows residents to vote for up to five candidates in order from their most preferred to least. If no candidate gets more than 50% of first-place votes, which seems

NEW YORK — Zohran Mamdani has surged so much in his upstart New York City mayoral campaign, he stands to win one of the biggest political prizes in America. With that victory comes a major test for his socialist movement. Mamdani still trails Andrew Cuomo in most polls but has significantly closed the gap heading into Tuesday’s Democratic primary. A win would shock the Democratic Party, as it grapples with its national 2024 losses, and inspire like-minded lefties to challenge establishment figures. It would also shine a spotlight on Mamdani and the Democratic Socialists of America, forcing them to answer

In a precautionary move, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz placed all state authorities on heightened alert in the event that Iran retaliates following the U.S. bombing of three Iranian nuclear facilities on Saturday night. FRESNO, Calif. -- A new COVID-19 subvariant known as NB.1.8.1, or "Nimbus," is spreading across the United States and gaining traction in California, prompting health officials to urge the public to stay up to date on vaccinations. (Snip) One of the most talked-about symptoms of the new strain is what patients are calling "razor blade throat", a severe sore throat that some describe as feeling like swallowing shards of glass. "With this variant, we are seeing patients presenting with a very painful sore throat, cough, headache, and nasal congestion," said Dr. Trinidad Solis with the Fresno County Department of Public Health.

U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem was taken to the hospital on Tuesday after suffering an allergic reaction, according to a DHS spokesperson. She was transported to the hospital out of an abundance of caution, DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin told Fox News Digital. It is unclear what triggered the event. Noem is said to be alert and recovering. Bruce LeVell, former Executive Director of President Donald Trump's National Diversity Coalition, took to social media to send Noem well wishes.

Sen. Alex Padilla (D-Calif.) teared up during a Tuesday speech on the Senate floor while recounting being “physically” and “aggressively forced out” of a press conference for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in Los Angeles. The Democratic lawmaker said his federal escorts “stood by silently” as he was wrestled to the ground for interrupting Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem (R) on Thursday. “I was physically and aggressively forced out of the room, even as I repeatedly announced I was a United States senator and I had a question for the secretary; even as the National Guardsman and the FBI
