Donald Trump has hit back at Elon Musk

Original Article

Donald Trump has hit back after Elon Musk landed a "really big bomb" which has left their once cosy relationship in tatters. It is not long since there was concern that the tech billionaire was getting too close to the United States president but now the two have been at each others throats in an ugly war of words played out on social media. Trump threatened to cut Musk’s government contracts as their fractured alliance rapidly escalated into a public feud as he suggested he would use the US government to hurt him financially.

What if the Founding Fathers had been too prissy to scream at each other? I think we should just really enjoy this, because definitely there is not "enough" or in fact "any" deficit reduction there, Musk is right, but on the other hand this is not the kind of bill which incorporates those changes, so Trump is right. I do not mind screaming and threats, so long as they do not key each other's cars. Go Trump! Go Musk! We want to understand!!

Here's the thing: The government of the United States of America doesn't belong to the President. It belongs to us. Using the power of our government to wage a political vendetta against personal enemies is outside the law and beneath the office we have entrusted to him. If Elon Musk's companies secured those contracts legitimately and followed the proper procurement process, we (i.e. the U.S. government and the tax payers who pay for it) will get sued if they are cancelled capriciously for political reasons. And we will lose. I'm a long-time supporter, and with President Trump you have to take the rough with the smooth. He's doing many difficult and necessary things. But he's also making it harder than he has to.

Winners and Losers of the 12-Day Israel–Iran War 1 reply

“War is thus an act of force to compel our enemy to do our will.” — Carl von Clausewitz. War is not chaos. It is the deliberate application of force in pursuit of political objectives. Every modern conflict must be judged according to those objectives. In the 12-day war between Israel and Iran, three major actors pursued distinct goals: Israel, Iran, and the United States. Based on what can be objectively and openly assessed, Israel and the United States achieved overwhelming success at the tactical, operational, and strategic levels. Iran, while executing limited retaliation, suffered a decisive defeat.

Enjoying a surge of support from progressive and younger voters, democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani is a big step closer to becoming the first Muslim mayor of the nation's most populous city. While the Associated Press had yet to project a winner in New York City's Democratic Party mayoral primary Tuesday night, former Gov. Andrew Cuomo saw the writing on the wall, telling supporters at an election night gathering that Mamdani "won." Mamdani, a 33-year-old state assembly member from Queens who is originally from Uganda, topped the former three-term governor and nine other candidates in a crowded primary field in an election that was determined by ranked-choice voting.

Israel and Iran both indicated on Tuesday morning that they were complying with a ceasefire agreement announced by President Trump. But the apparent agreement — which Iranian officials had yet to formally confirm they would respect — appeared to falter within just a couple hours. The Israeli military ordered people into bomb shelters yet again and said Iran had launched more missiles at the country.

IIt’s tempting to look at Big Tech, corporate media, and federal agencies as distinct industries and entities with their own goals and organizational structures, but that’s not the right way to analyze them in 2024. In reality, they are just different systems within the same organism, similar to how eyes, ears, and legs are all part of a human body. They have different roles and functions, but all are subordinate to the same overarching goal: total power.

Justice Amy Coney Barrett has gotten a bad rap lately for siding with the leftist wing of the Supreme Court on a few cases, but if you ever needed a reminder of why ACB was such a pivotal addition to the Supreme Court, look no further than her latest majority opinion, which brutally destroyed Ketanji Brown Jackson for her moronic dissent in Trump v. CASA, Inc. In a 6-3 decision that handed President Trump a major victory, the Court put the brakes on runaway district judges issuing nationwide injunctions — an abuse that’s become the left’s favorite tool for stalling any policy they dislike. Our South Carolina neighborhood has green cans for garbage and blue cans for recycling. All our neighbors dutifully separate their garbage. We don’t, and we don’t for a very specific reason. What I discovered a couple of years ago is that, while different trucks drive around collecting blue and green cans on garbage day, at the end of the shift, the trucks dump all the garbage into the same landfill. It’s a scam that, according to my local representative, makes people feel good about themselves. When I lived in Marin County, California, we also had to separate our garbage. That wasn’t surprising, though

The U.S. Supreme Court on Friday handed down its ruling in the parental rights case of Mahmoud v. Taylor. In a 6-3 decision, SCOTUS decided that parents do have the right to opt their elementary school-aged (pre-K through 8th grade) children out of classroom instruction that may include materials on gender and sexuality. The three dissenters were Justices Elena Kagan, Sonia Sotomayor, and Ketanji Brown Jackson. Writing for the majority, Justice Samuel Alito states that the parents involved were likely to succeed in their claim that the school system, by not allowing the opt-out on LGBTQ-themed classroom activities, was an unconstitutional burden on their religious liberties.

Girls don’t usually fight. There are sound reasons for this – reasons of general decorum, biology, hormones, jewelry, dresses and hairdos. But when they do, boy oh boy, it can be a doozy. It happened yesterday at the Supreme Court. The case was an appeal of a district court order issuing a “universal injunction” against President Trump’s executive order seeking to abolish “birthright citizenship.” Birthright citizenship is the kind you get if you’re born in America even if your parents are here illegally. The 14th Amendment seems to provide for it, although there is a non-frivolous argument that it does not.

As RedState reported, the Trump administration scored a major victory on Friday after the Supreme Court ruled that district court-level nationwide injunctions exceeded judicial authority. That will throw a wrench into the left-wing strategy of seeking universal relief in a select few left-wing jurisdictions across the country and hopefully return some actual balance to the separation of powers within the U.S. government. Of course, while the decision was a victory for common sense and for voters who would prefer judges not overstep their bounds to essentially operate as president, it was a defeat for Democrats who have relied on that abuse to remain in power even when they lose.
