Italy’s Mount Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe, started erupting Monday — sending scores of panicked tourists running for safety. Huge plumes of smoke filled the sky around Sicily as the famous landmark began to explode first thing, causing nearby homes to shake. The Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre Toulouse quickly issued a “code red” as volcanic ash began falling over the tourist haven. The agency had warned in its latest update that the volcano was experiencing “strong strombolian activity.”

More wind and solar power, anyone? We need more carbon taxes.

A family member lived on Sicily for a few years. Etna eruptions are a common occurrence, much like on Hawaii.

The good news is that Sicilians did not have to listen to Greta doing a “How dare you?!” shaming of their mountain, because she is busy supporting Hamas (surprise!). The bad news is that we will no longer only have 12 short years remaining, until the climate apocalypse.

Be ironic to visit Pompeii and get buried alive in volcanic ash.

I myself had some 'strong strombolian activity' once after dining at a second-rate Italian restaurant in lower Manhattan. Fortunately, it was in a well-ventilated place...

An Arkansas kindergarten graduation descended into madness when a large brawl broke out between parents, forcing school officials to scold the “unacceptable” behavior displayed in front of the little tykes. Several adults threw punches at each other in the hallway of West Memphis’ Faulk Elementary on Wednesday as the frightened screams of nearby children filled the crowded corridor. Multiple men and women were in the center of the melee, plowing through the school as other parents rushed to get their children away from the danger, according to video obtained by WREG. Kids could also be heard crying “stop” in the video.

You gotta admire the effort. MSNBC and CNN both deserve trophies. While the completion at Fox has stomped on their collective necks, the two alternate reality left-wing networks have persisted. CNN and MSNBC are like youth soccer teams who went 0 for forever in May. They deserve our attention, if only for the collective lack of attention by the viewing public. Give them both pats on their heads and a slice of orange and tell them they tried their best – there's always next month. Pride Month is next up and, heck, it can’t get worse... right? With a couple of days left in May, ratings are in,

Progressive Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell is being investigated by the feds for allegedly “aiding and abetting” illegal immigrants and obstructing ICE agents. The Department of Homeland Security and congressional judiciary committees are probing whether O’Connell used federal tax dollars “in criminal enterprise” related to illegal immigration, Tennessee Rep. Andy Ogles announced. The progressive mayor had condemned a huge Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operation that nabbed immigrants — many criminals with gang affiliations — and then signed an executive order making city staff report all communications they have with agents.

Taveon Hargrove, 23, was picked up by the US Marshals’ Regional Fugitive Task Force in North Chesterfield, Virginia, in connection to the brutal caught-on-video early Saturday attack on the 27-year-old officer on St. Peters Avenue in Westchester Square, according to the sources. Charges are pending against Hargrove, who cops over the weekend warned was “to be considered armed and dangerous.”

Two female US Secret Service Uniformed Division officers got into a physical fight outside of Barack Obama’s DC residence at 2:30 am on Wednesday. It is unclear if anyone was injured or disciplined over the fight. I have no idea how to comprehend this act of incompetence. Last Friday, severe storms rolled into St. Louis. A tornado touched down and struck the northern part of the city—and there were no warning sirens. The tornado alarm system was never activated. It wasn’t due to a computer glitch. It was human error: the emergency management director, Sarah Russell, essentially forgot to turn it on, but it gets worse: the staff wasn’t even in the office. Russell contacted the fire department to initiate the system, but this was a shambolic failure

Apocalyptic cults provide a window on some amazing complex group dynamics. First, of course is the "apocalyptic" part. This is what they are best known for -- the world is going to end next Tuesday or the aliens will be arriving the first of the month to take the chosen to space heaven, or a hundred other crazed ideas. The cults preach that the only way to “escape this impending doom is by joining the group, adhering to its leader's teachings, and following its prescribed rituals.” For the Democrat party, the most recent apocalyptic tale is of course the horrors of climate change.

Apparently, nobody’s watching the watchmen. Private security guards hired by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority to staff subway stations, and act as deterrents to would-be turnstile hoppers, have instead been lending a helping hand to the Big Apple fare-beaters. The Post recently observed Allied Universal Security Services guards inside the Herald Square station holding the emergency doors open on two different occasions to let a stream of scofflaws through. Several commuters could be seen walking up to the gate, and exchanging words with the guard, who then let them in. Whenever the guard opened the door, other fare-evaders would make a dash for it. “Whenever the gate opens, nobody wants to pay,” offered Allied Guard

4:56 The federal government cannot invalidate immigration documents that allow roughly 5,000 Venezuelan nationals living in the United States to remain in the country until October 2026, a federal court in California ruled on May 30. In February, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem terminated Venezuela’s 2023 designation for Temporary Protected Status (TPS), a temporary immigration status granted when foreign nationals cannot return to their home countries because of safety concerns, such as ongoing armed conflict, environmental disasters, or epidemics. A TPS designation protects individuals from deportation and allows them to apply for authorization to work in the United States.
