One of the masked thugs suspected of savagely beating and robbing an off-duty NYPD cop at knifepoint in the Bronx over the weekend was busted Tuesday morning, law enforcement sources said.
Taveon Hargrove, 23, was picked up by the US Marshals’ Regional Fugitive Task Force in North Chesterfield, Virginia, in connection to the brutal caught-on-video early Saturday attack on the 27-year-old officer on St. Peters Avenue in Westchester Square, according to the sources.
Charges are pending against Hargrove, who cops over the weekend warned was “to be considered armed and dangerous.”
It appears DEI is still alive and well in the US Secret Service even though there has been a change of guard.

A garage fire at Jacksonville International Airport has left many travelers wondering about the fate of their vehicles. The hourly garage remains closed following a fire on Friday that damaged several dozen cars and caused parts of the structure to collapse.

Former New York Democrat Congressman Charles Rangel has passed away.
He was 94.
Rangel served 23 terms in Congress. He was elected to Congress in 1970 and retired in 2017.
“A towering figure in American politics and a champion for justice, equity, and opportunity, Congressman Rangel dedicated over four decades of his life to public service,” the Rangel family said in a statement.
NYC Mayor Eric Adams released a statement on Rangel’s death.
“I am so sad to lose a dear friend and exemplary model of devotion and courage. My prayers are with his family, Harlem, and all who knew him,” Adams said.

Hate crime hoaxer Jussie Smollett has once again repeated the debunked claim that he was randomly jumped during one snowy night in Chicago six years ago.
In an Instagram post on Saturday, Smollett accused the city of Chicago working as part of a conspiracy to discredit his claim of being a victim of a hate crime.

A 53-year-old man was detained Monday after he allegedly drove a vehicle into a crowd at the Liverpool Football Club trophy parade in Liverpool, England, injuring over two dozen people.
