Apocalyptic cults provide a window on some amazing complex group dynamics. First, of course is the "apocalyptic" part. This is what they are best known for -- the world is going to end next Tuesday or the aliens will be arriving the first of the month to take the chosen to space heaven, or a hundred other crazed ideas. The cults preach that the only way to “escape this impending doom is by joining the group, adhering to its leader's teachings, and following its prescribed rituals.” For the Democrat party, the most recent apocalyptic tale is of course the horrors of climate change.

A garage fire at Jacksonville International Airport has left many travelers wondering about the fate of their vehicles. The hourly garage remains closed following a fire on Friday that damaged several dozen cars and caused parts of the structure to collapse.
The airport has resumed normal operations after the fire temporarily halted activities. However, the flames that erupted from the hourly garage led to significant damage, including collapses on the second and third floors that have made the structure unsafe, according to airport officials.

Apparently, nobody’s watching the watchmen.
Private security guards hired by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority to staff subway stations, and act as deterrents to would-be turnstile hoppers, have instead been lending a helping hand to the Big Apple fare-beaters.
The Post recently observed Allied Universal Security Services guards inside the Herald Square station holding the emergency doors open on two different occasions to let a stream of scofflaws through.
Several commuters could be seen walking up to the gate, and exchanging words with the guard, who then let them in. Whenever the guard opened the door, other fare-evaders would make a dash for it.

Although prostate cancer is the second-leading cause of cancer deaths among men (second to only lung cancer), that’s not because it’s so deadly, but because it’s so common. It’s a fact that more men die with prostate cancer than of it.
Of those who die, the typical mechanism of death is by the cancer cells metastasizing to other organs and/or to the bones. It takes years for that to happen – typically something like 5-10 years even without treatment, and even longer with treatment.
