U.S. President Donald Trump is firefighting the Ukraine War he said in comments where he expressed his anger towards the actions of Russian President Vladimir Putin for undermining peace talks with rocket attacks on Ukrainian citizens. Vladimir Putin’s apparent mission to capture the whole of Ukraine will lead to the “downfall of Russia”, U.S. President Trump has warned while also cautioning President Volodymyr Zelensky to consider keeping his own counsel more often, noting his outbursts have developed the habit of causing “problems” for Ukraine.

I've known from the beginning that Putin wanted this war, that's why he started it. He has never had any interest in stopping the war, so he has been just playing along with Trump, telling lies and pretending. DJT is starting to see that his original opinion of Putin was a facade, a fraud and that the real Putin is easily as evil and black hearted, and duplicitous as Stalin ever was. Ukraine was attacked while threatening no one. They are the victims and should be supported in their desperate defense of their homeland against the evil Russian invaders.

PDJT has given Putin 2nd, 3rd, 4th chances to come to the negotiating table... and appears that Putin believes there will never be an end to this leeway, so Putin is now playing the president. The danger for the president is that our adversaries may conclude he's a paper tiger. It is past time to show some teeth, because otherwise Putin will never stand down his slow escalation will continue until he's offed by his own collection of oligarchs or the Russian economy positively collapses -- or both.

It's a complicated problem and I believe that Putin's fear of the Ukraine becoming a member of NATO was his main reason to attack. Their natural resources run a close second. He also knew that Biden would be a pushover and didn't expect to need to deal with a strong president here. He has too much invested in the hand to fold now so he will continue to play until he is stopped because he knows his presidency would soon be over. As much as I hate the tragic waste of war, sometimes people just need to die.

Stupid reaction by DJT. But I guess it all gets lapped up by the Russophobes still living in the 1950s. The US/Nato set this war in motion in 2014 (how many color revolutions does that make now?) And we shrug our shoulders as though to say, "We didn't do nuffin" and get huffy when we're not trusted to be "honest brokers". Now that German moron Merz says no more restrictions on the use of the Taurus missiles. European leaders are determined to commit suicide by goading Putin into a war. We'd better stay out of it.

The United States and the rest of the world should isolate and shut off all income to Russia. Problem? Stupid East Europe is still dependent on Russian oil. Thats like Hitler selling oil to the allies. Something is not right. It's almost like it's a 'show' war to bilk the wealth of free country citizens of the NATO countries. They all have TDS even worse than our beloved dims.

The only way to win the game is not to play. President Trump needs to wash his hands of this mess now. He needs to look at the Europeans and say we are done. Ukraine in NATO means the US is out of NATO, period. Responding to any of this any other way is stupid as the other active players in this game have no intention of allowing peace to break out so long as Trump is involved. They WILL NOT give him the win he so desires, ever. And of course the warhawks here and in Europe will drag us into this mess if he let's them with this stupid rhetoric. They long (dare I say lust) to see US service men blood on the battle fields of Ukraine because "Russia BAD!!" It's not their sons and daughters who will die. They probably don't even have kids so they have ZERO investment in the future. Their lust for blood and the meat grinder that is already eating up the young of these two countries is Satanic but you can't tell them that because like cavemen they repeat "Russia BAD!"... and you with your desire for violence aren't?

Beginning to get the feeling that it is Putin who wants WW3. It sure seems like Putin's latest mass attacks on Ukrainian civilians at the same time 47 is trying to end the invasion were an attempt to bait the West into attacking deep inside Russian territory, so he could then use those attacks as an excuse to launch his nukes on someone. He's been threatening to launch, telling everyone what he would use as an excuse to launch. He's just itching to launch nukes agains ANY Western nation. Putin is a lunatic with a nuclear arsenal. And for him Ukraine was always just the first bite.

At this point we need to pray for President Trump, DOD Pete Hegseth, and State Dept. Mario Rubio for wisdom and knowledge on what to do, how to proceed with Russia. These are dangerous times and we don't want to be dragged into WWIII. DJT is right. Putin is acting crazy right now or has he always? We need guidance from above.

The only way to safely take on the "Bear" is to attack through the "soft underbelly." History has already shown that attack through Easter Europe is a fools errand, and two great armies have been mired in the muck of the regional winter. Ronald Reagan has also shown that the "other" way to change the course of human events is via economic warfare, with the example being his "Star Wars" agenda.

It has long been my belief that our State Department, indeed both administrations, have been trying to save Russia from its own stupidity. To get them to stop without carrying Russia to collapse. It's why Biden never went all in. It's why Macron, early on, declared "Russia must not be humiliated." For Trump, it is a damn stupid thing that interferes with commerce and produces human misery. But Russia really believes in this nonsense about empire and a multi-polar world. Russia cannot just shut up and be a shabby, alcoholic Norway that sells oil. It has to be a Great Power.

The Trump administration is weighing requiring all foreign students applying to study in the United States to undergo social media vetting — a significant expansion of previous such efforts, according to a cable obtained by POLITICO. In preparation for such required vetting, the administration is ordering U.S. Embassies and consular sections to pause scheduling new interviews for such student visa applicants, according to the cable, dated Tuesday and signed by Secretary of State Marco Rubio. If the administration carries out the plan, it could severely slow down student visa processing. It also could hurt many universities who rely heavily on foreign students to boost their financial coffers.

Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government could lose nearly 60% of its student body if the Trump administration’s attempted ban on international enrollment, temporarily blocked by a judge, takes effect. As at many Harvard schools, campus life at the Kennedy School has been hijacked by anti-Israel activists. Last week, a federal judge blocked President Donald Trump from denying Harvard the ability to enroll students on foreign visas. But the administration made clear it intends to stop Harvard from being able to enroll foreigners if it continues to defy the president’s demands that it fight antisemitism and reform its “woke” curriculum and administrative practices. Tapper said that given Bennet was doing it in part because of his frustration with Congress and "frankly, with Democratic leadership," and "given the Democratic Party's record low popularity now," does the Democratic brand help him or hurt him? Wow, Tapper went there. Bennet's response was not good for the Democrats. “I don’t think nationally the Democratic brand helps very much anyway...anywhere,” Bennet replied. Oof, so true.

A Titanic Blunder for a Tinpot Regime There’s a poetic kind of justice when a dictatorship’s propaganda parade ends as soggy scrap metal. North Korea, the Hermit Kingdom so fond of choreographed triumphs and goose-stepping grandeur, recently tried launching a 5,000-ton “stealth” destroyer, only to have it tip sideways into the sea like a child’s bathtub toy.
