In April, there were 9 Republican mayors in America’s 50 biggest cities. In May, that number fell to 8. Democrats are celebrating Omaha’s mayoral election win as proof that Republicans are out of step with America, when it’s really evidence how the nation’s cities have fallen out of step with America. There was a time when America’s cities were symbols of progress, but they have long since become sinkholes of decline, clinging to a handful of industries that employ a tiny fraction of their population as evidence of their relevance.

Most large cities are manure holes and not worth the time or trouble to bother with. A few might have some interesting activities or attractions but they are no safe, peaceful place to live.

Well, it's easier to fool someone than to convince them they've been fooled. And the Demoroids fool enough people to stay in power.

Large urban areas elect a Republican mayor only when the constituency finally realizes their fiscal "house" is in dire straights following long seasons of Democrat hacks spending their way into fiscal oblivion. They almost never elect one when times are "good."

The cities are where gangs, corruption, crimes, drugs, prostitution and other population maladies are mostly found. It is no accident that the cities are the first to fall, especially under Democrat rule. I say give the cities over to them if that is what their citizens want. The rest of us can move outside the city.
So long as Democrat voters don’t know the connection between voting Democrat and high crime/corruption, the cities won’t change. They will always be cesspools. Or as Trump referred to Haiti, poo-holes. (I cleaned that up.)

This is why decent families flee the cities. The crime goes up when there is no penalty to worry about.

That's why it's best to live out in flyover country. People are better behaved and we know how to fix things in an efficient manner.

It’s very simple, conservatives just don’t spend their money in progressive cities. Here in FL, St.Pete and Tampa have progressive mayors, so we don’t do business there. Boston, used to love going there, but not with Michelle Wu. New York with all the crime and grime, no thanks.

"America’s cities were symbols of progress" - Now they are very progressive and that is not a good thing. The left adopted the adjective "progressive" long ago to imply that resistance is futile.

Really shows the division between large city dwellers and the rest of America. It is not coincidental. A divided enemy is more easily defeated and America certainly has enemies. Those enemies have come a long way. They are controlling our government.

The California effect. What happens in large cities carries over to the State and Federal level. See California, Illinois and New York where large blue cities dominate the state. It's been spreading for a while too. See the governor of Washington - went all dem in 1985. Or Colorado - went all dem in 2007. It's now happening in Texas.

Thirty years ago, Denver was a nice, safe city with many places to go in the evenings. Then it elected a succession of democrat mayors. Now it is a cess pool of homeless, illegals, and high crime. Is it any wonder no one goes there anymore?

This is great news Nebraska! Or is that Aksarben? Guess what? The dead democrat vote has just been bolstered due to the largest city in the state going to a democrat mayor. In addition, ballot fraud will now help "The Party" even more in upcoming city and statewide elections. Isn't it wonderful? Congratulations! All hail "The Party", aka the CCP wannabe. SMDH
We lived in Omaha in the late 1990s. We loved it, but somehow I think we'll not be back. Not even for the College World Series. More's the pity.

As enjoyable as New Orleans used to be, democrat mayor's have ruined it. Since the election of LaToya the Destroyer, I refuse to cross the bridge into the city, unless I have to access the huge VA health service center.
