Illegal aliens are being recruited to join sophisticated criminal networks in the United States that stage accidents and injuries to get payouts through the nation’s personal injury system, House Republicans told Attorney General Pam Bondi.[snip] “These fraudulent schemes pose serious risks to public safety, increase consumer costs, and raise insurance premiums for the motoring public,” the Republicans wrote. “According to the Coalition Against Insurance Fraud, insurance fraud costs the U.S. $308 billion annually, with $45 billion attributable to property and casualty insurance fraud. More importantly, these activities put innocent motorists at risk of injury or even death.”

This is why their home countries were glad to "export them" to the north, along with all the other, more violent, criminals.

It's not a problem... it's opportunity, for the "Trial Lawyers Association (TLA)."
Clogging the courts with "slip and fall" cases isn't the TLA's problem, it's the fault of society tin not have enough judges and courts for THEM! /s

The United States of America, another bad leftist creation (re-creating), is the place of fraudulent opportunity for anyone because of massive waste, fraud, and abuse everywhere you turn. I remember illegals doing this back in the 90s. We're just now noticing in Congress. Deport the illegals, and we don't care how you do it; this applies to the good ones and the bad ones; these are desperate times. Everybody out! Arrest the leftist lawyers and others recruiting them, and strip them of their licenses and ill-gotten gain. Illegals are getting workers compensation when they shouldn't be working in this country.

I am a naturalized citizen - for over 35 years. I think I got the short end of the stick. Wonder if there is a chance to declare myself an illegal?

This is merely Obamacrats continuing their wilful destruction of a nation they hate. I'm afraid to say that Donald Trump may not be able to stop them. MAGA

Gee, this is a surprise. Do they suggest that people who committed crimes just to be here are likely to continue committing crimes while they are here? I did not see that coming.

Louisiana is especially a target because the personal injury lawyers have some politicians in their pocket.
I leave a lot of room between my car and the one I follow at a red light. They will back into you and claim you hit them.

We keep graduating far more lawyers than we need. We need to keep them employed.

This was going on thirty years ago with illegals slamming on their brakes after cutting in front of other vehicles. As you would expect, it began in California.

Twenty-five years ago a friend of mine told me about this practice, which was apparently common in Colorado. At about the same time I was informed that 1 car in 4 in Colorado is uninsured.

if you've ever driven in Mexico, you know this is not a recent problem. Driving a vehicle with US plates in Mexico is just begging for an 'accident' to happen, but in Mexico the scammers operate with the cooperation of the local constabulary. It works like this: the accident happens, the cops show up, the local claims it was all your fault, cop says you either settle with this poor local right now or we have to take you to jail to keep you from running back to the US without paying for your damages. You figure out how to come up with some cash to give to the 'injured' party, cop lets you leave, local give the cop part of the money for helping out.

When I lived in L.A. in the '60s the insurance industry estimated that 25 to 30% of all insurance claims were fraudulent but it wasn't worth their time to pursue this so they just passed their losses on to the customers. Nothing has changed.

Law and Order on television had a story about this very thing...so it's not news...it's been going on for years...WE forget...WE've had illegals here for years...working the system...the ambulance chasing lawyers have this as their main income producer....Pam has so many projects on her plate...this abuse of the legal system is not on the top of her list....But...when an accident happens with illegals....then it's a start in opening the door for prosecution....

Posters #9 & #11-Get a dash camera. Even if it's not working, when you tell the 'victim' that you have it on your dash cam, they usually take off! At the least, if it's a working camera, you have proof of what actually happened.

I worked for a law firm which handled cases involving a chiropractor, who would pay Haitian immigrants to intentionally clip other drivers (usually older European-Americans) and then submit fraudulent medical claims to the government and this occurred nearly twenty-five years ago.
This is a very old scheme, which I hope President Trump’s Justice Department acts to finally eliminate.

As noted in the article, illegal aliens often owe money to coyotes who brought them into our country illegally. That's not an unintended consequence. It is a fact, with the Biden administration knowingly putting innocent Americans at risk of deliberate car crashes, and well aware that coyotes will get their money from illegals by any means necessary. There's nothing unreasonable about holding the folks pretending to be Joe Biden (while he was napping) accountable for the damage they've done to our national interests as well as to citizens impacted by their refusal to secure our borders.
FTA: It also appears that illegal immigrants are being recruited as part of these schemes, sometimes as a requirement to repay coyotes who helped them cross the border. Numerous cases highlight the intersection of illegal immigration and alleged abuse of the personal injury system, with some plaintiffs reportedly using litigation loans and workers’ compensation payments to repay debts owed to human smugglers. [Emphasis added]

Why not, illegal aliens now know that the leftist and progressive Democrats will support them, as they also know that those Democrats do not want any illegal aliens to be deported from the USA. As they consider all illegal aliens' especially Third World origin poor, unskilled, and generally uneducated illegal aliens who can be categorized to be members of minority groups in accordance with Democrat identity politics, to be many forms of social welfare dependent prospective future leftist and progressive Democrat supporters and voters by the millions in the years ahead to keep the leftist and progressive Democrats in permanent political power.

no. 5 speaks for us. we've been through it. same with many others we know. loads of NDE's,
cars wrapped around telephone poles, upside down, on fire, in canyons and ravines. corrupt cops involved.
are we to be thankful their criminality is now 'more sophisticated' ? the insurance companies should have
mountains of records for prosecutors. seems they won't do their jobs unless stripped of federal funds, or
replaced. think of useless eejits like horizontal harris as ex.A.

Very common in Atlanta, Ga and surrounding counties. Not necessarily illegal Hispanics if you get what I mean.
