Canada is conducting "high level" talks with the United States over joining President Donald Trump's proposed "Golden Dome" missile defense program, Prime Minister Mark Carney said on Wednesday. Trump announced his plans the previous day to develop the multilayered, $175 billion (€155 billion) system with ground- and space-based capabilities that can defend against a wide range of enemy weapons, like drones, hypersonic and cruise missiles, and intercontinental ballistic missiles. The US President said he expected the missile shield to be ready by the end of his second term in 2029.

While my first thought was, "What happened to the relationship between the U.S. and Canada being over?", the fact of the matter is that the most efficient way to protect the U.S. from missile attack involves defending Canada's population centers as a side effect.

Price tag is probably a trillion dollars. How are you going to pay for it? Selling it might actually offset some of the costs. If it's going to take 10-20 years to develop, what is going to keep it from going obsolete before it's ready?

Crime Rates of Illegal Migrants Underreported 9 replies

Democrats actively oppose the Trump administration’s efforts to arrest and deport illegal immigrants, despite the administration’s focus on those with criminal histories. To support their opposition, Democrats frequently claim, almost as an article of faith, that illegal immigrants are less prone to commit crime. “The crime rate among immigrants is far lower than the crime rate among native-born Americans,” New York Rep. Jerrold Nadler asserted confidently. “So the whole issue is wrong.” “Immigrants commit crimes in this country at a rate lower than natural-born citizens,” added Connecticut Sen. Chris Murphy. “So, if you want a safe town or a safe neighborhood, you are better off if you have immigrants.”

Rubio said previously at USAID, "only 12 cents of every dollar was reaching the recipient." "We still will provide more foreign aid, more humanitarian support, than the next 10 countries combined... and far more than China," he said, disputing the argument that the U.S. is handing over soft power to China by cutting foreign aid. "China doesn’t do humanitarian aid. China does predatory lending."

As the anatomy of the great Joe Biden cover-up emerges, one dark figure stands menacingly taller than the rest. That would be Vogue cover girl Dr. Jill Biden, who is starting to look more like Dr. Evil — a cartoonishly terrible, power-hungry and reckless movie villain — every day. This week, as Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson’s devastating book “Original Sin” detailing the Dems’ elaborate cover-up of the 46th president’s infirmity as he ran — or, ahem, as he was run — for a second shot at the White House, Biden dropped a bombshell prostate cancer diagnosis.

A favorite Lily Tomlin line was made for this moment: “No matter how cynical you get, it is impossible to keep up.” She could have been talking about the Biden White House. Those of us who were long convinced that aides were hiding the president’s cognitive decline weren’t cynical enough. We also needed to believe they were hiding other serious ailments, such as prostate cancer. Hmm, what else didn’t we suspect that we should have? Whatever it is, the odds are soaring that we are going to find out.

It is now socially safe to state the obvious out loud. Former President Joe Biden was not physically or mentally healthy enough to be president. And based on his 2020 presidential campaign when he was often hidden from public view and mostly stayed home, Biden was probably not even well enough to campaign. The reason that talk of Biden’s poor health makes the left bristle is because it triggers a big question that can only lead to possibly the biggest presidential scandal in our nation’s history.

It’s gratifying to see President Donald Trump personally pursuing peace and reconciliation in a world ravaged by war and conflict. His dictum that “we have no permanent enemies” is a powerful statement coming from the leader of the free world. Fortunately, the subject changed from more weapons that can kill more people, to what we must do to stop these wars, killing so many innocent people. What Mr. Trump has accomplished since being sworn in as president on January 20, 2025, is impressive. On April 26, terrorists shot 26 civilians in Pahalgam, Kashmir and on May 7th, India retaliated by attacking terrorist bases in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, in addition

Across the country, a new defense is being heard in state and federal courtrooms. From Democratic members of Congress to judges to city council members, officials claim that their duties include obstructing the official functions of the federal government. It is a type of liberal license that excuses almost any crime in the name of combating what Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz called the “modern-day Gestapo” of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The latest claimant of this license is Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ), who was charged with assaulting, resisting, and impeding law enforcement officers during a protest at Delaney Hall ICE detention facility in Newark, New Jersey.

The dispersed shot-pattern of President Trump’s approval ratings proves he’s still confounding pollsters. For weeks, and especially since Trump’s announcement of sweeping tariffs on what he dubbed Liberation Day, the establishment media’s prevailing narrative has been that the president is plummeting in the polls. However, a closer look at today’s polling reveals a far different story. There is no avoiding the fact that Donald Trump is a divisive politician. RealClearPolitics’ historical average of his national favorability polling shows his first (7/16/16) favorability reading as 26.3%-61.3%. On Jan. 1, 2017, just days before he took office following his November 2016 upset win, he was still underwater by nearly 4 percentage points.

On May 18, Americans learned that former President Joe Biden has stage 4 cancer that has, unfortunately, metastasized to his bones. It's sad that Biden, who for decades served our nation as a senator, vice president and president, now faces a life-threatening illness only four months after leaving the White House. But I can't help but think about what Democratic Party leaders and much of the news media told Americans only a year ago. Biden was then portrayed as "active" and "robust." He was more than ready, according to the Democratic Party, for four more years as commander in chief, even as he approached his 82nd birthday.

After decades of partnering with the U.S. government to serve refugees, The Episcopal Church ended the relationship this week, because the Trump administration asked them to serve refugees whose plight contradicts the woke Left’s grand narrative. Episcopal Migration Ministries had resettled almost 110,000 people across the U.S., and the church had touted its assistance to “undocumented immigrants”—read “illegal aliens”—but serving 59 desperate white South Africans who came to the U.S. legally was apparently a bridge too far.
