Congressional Republicans are the absolute worst, for many reasons, but this time, it has to do with the “big” and “beautiful” tax bill that’s working its way toward Donald Trump’s desk—Republicans, despite holding both houses, as well as the Oval Office, are set to retain hundreds of billions of dollars in Green New Deal provisions, if they get their way.[Snip] Mike Johnson, like the serpent he is, craftily he touted the “$500 billion” in cuts, but ignored the hundreds of billions he and his cohorts retained or worse, expanded:

If the entire content of this American Thinker piece is true, it’s the biggest betrayal of trust ever perpetrated by Republicans toward the voters, and more importantly toward God. I find it difficult to believe that it is true of all — but unfortunately not some.
Only one of the examples mentioned —
Matt Kibbe

A Republican majority is about to lock in the Obamacare Medicaid expansion and AOC’s Green New Deal. Stupefying.

It is becoming clear that the four Trump years will just be a speed bump on our march to fiscal disaster.
Neither party is serious about reigning in spending.

The Dems have screwed themselves big time with their standing up for the illegal criminals they enticed to pour into our country,BUT, if the Reps screw the voters who trusted them once again with our votes, by not cutting more wasteful spending and failing to pass the tax cut that will be devastating with an increase on all of us,then they too will have shown the American people they cannot be trusted by betraying us once again when we gave them the majority even a slight one. Trump needs to get the cattle prod out for the "no" Reps and if they stay "no" then make sure they get primaried for their betrayal of our trust yet again. I have no faith in any of them anymore.

Not for long it won't. The Green New Deal has been declared dead - all of it.

Politics is the art of the possible. Keeping the bar very high might have resulted in the whole thing going down in flames. I am sure PDT and his advisors know it, as they know of the slight of hand that Johnson is putting in there. Still this bill is better than what could have been. One step at a time.

Please, everybody stop complaining. Trust President Trump with this bill. He knows what he's doing and can always veto it if he doesn't like it.

Please do not get all riled up base on what this obviously uninformed and emotional writer has to say. Two things that she says were contradicted by someone on the rules committee that just worked on the bill last night. No taxes on Tips or Social Security is in the bill. What other items has the write gotten wrong. I'm sure that are more.

It is a very disappointing bill, and continues the country's road to financial disaster. The Republicans refuse to remove spending items that are not the role of the federal government in the first place.

Be carefull. These articles are being pushed by the big oil lobby. The bill eliminates solar and wind credits that are a scam, but extends credits for nuclear and clean jet fuel that will make a real difference and threaten oil interests.

@10 - I'm hearing this morning that it will not be no tax on SS but rather seniors will receive an extra $4000.00. I guess subject to being taxed. Whatever. So disgusted with most Republicans in Congress.

First a preface regarding this article: Is it true?
If it is true, the debt will continue to climb and so will inflation. It's not sustainable. One would think our government would be concerned about this, but is doesn't appear so.
Depending on who you ask, our government is supposed to be a Democracy or a Representative Republic. One very important question: Who do they represent? My guess would be less than 1% of the population. The people that 'own' our government. They are basically milking our government for all it's worth. One can jump on the bandwagon and play the same game. Many people have. Just remember it cannot last, and they truly do not support you.
Trump does not have support in Congress or the courts. That much should be obvious by now. If they don't assassinate him or remove him, they will just wait him out and continue on business as usual once he's gone.

And they will keep getting reelected anyway, because as was stated in another thread repeatedly, the voters are idiots. They keep assuming the R after a name denotes some kind of virtue, and not voting for the R is a vote for the D. And here we are, with a government full of traitors and trillions in debt that we cant possibly pay off.

I was listening to Senator Ron Johnson yesterday. He said this bill just codified the Biden budget. It did nothing to reduce the deficit. There are some cuts but also some increases. Republicans have to become braver and cut, cut, cut, but many of them are big spenders. Maybe Trump has a plan. I don't know. But this bill sounds like a stinker.
