How do you solve a problem like Iran?

Many pro-Israel people I know, both Jewish and non-Jewish, are deeply worried about Trump’s current Middle East positions. He’s marginalizing Israel in negotiations with Saudi Arabia, accepting on the government’s behalf a luxury plane from double-dealing Qatar, and handing money to the goons in Syria. At the same time, he’s seemingly freezing out Israel, to the great consternation of Israel and its supporters.
So, what gives? Having read Charles Lipson’s superb analysis of the problems in dealing with an almost nuclear Iran, and how Biden created this monster, I suspect that “what gives” may be Trump trying an out-of-the-box approach to isolating Iran long enough for his economic policies

Sorry to say, but no matter HOW BAD things might get after we take out Iranian deep underground bunkers, but WHATEVER means necessary, it will be WAY less terrible than what will happen WHEN, not if, Iran gets their nukes working.
These violent, psychopathic, religious lunatics WILL NUKE Israel and very possibly nuke the USA, likely by truck delivered bombs, not missiles.
To repeat, ANY blowback arising from taking out Iran's nukes by military force will be far less than if we do not do it. I wish, very much, that it was otherwise, but it is not.

Just be careful how you go about it. America has more friends in Tehran than it has in the entire Democrat Party.

You cannot negotiate with terrorists. Iran is a terrorist state. They engage and sponsor terrorism worldwide. Iran jerks people along until they accomplish their goals. This is what they are now doing with President Trump, the United States, and nations all over this planet. They will keep doing this until they reach their nuclear goal and then................BOOM. Looks as of now that President Trump doesn't have the necessary balls to do what needs doing to stop Iran's evil parade toward the bomb. Hope I am wrong. Hope Iran doesn't prove my worst fears to be correct. Just saying.

Maybe ask some ramdom circuit court judge, they seem to be running the executive branch anyway.

Why can't a random federal district court judge just issue a worldwide injunction that Iran cannot have nukes? (Hat tip #5).
These federal judges are so powerful and wise, why not just take charge and get the job of governing done without the interposition of the Executive?
Why not just issue a writ of brain surgery for those so afflicted?
Oh, writing it down on a piece of paper isn't the same as doing it?

The headline to the article reminded me of a song from 'The Sound of Music"
Except for the word 'Iran'.
I'm pretty sure I'm the only LDotter whose mind works so strangely.

Well the Muslims, following their religious beliefs, have been offensively fighting against and trying to kill all the Jews for about 1,500 years. It’s entirely possible, based upon that history, that it is impossible to stop that fighting and killing without killing enough of those Muslims to get the survivors to modify their religious beliefs in those respects.

I have always had great respect for this author's opinions. The conclusions she jumps to in this article are weapons grade lunacy. Does anybody believe Trump has turned against Israel? Does anybody believe he is insincere in his very public opposition to Iran having nuclear weapons? I wondered about his reluctance to join Israel in taking out Iran's nuclear capability. Someone suggested that he wants Iran to continue to pump oil thereby suppressing the world price and putting pressure on Putin to end his war. Makes sense to me. Get the war in Ukraine settled, then get the Iran problem fixed. Seems like a plan to me.

Call the Israelis. Tell them they have a green light to take out Iran and level Gaza. Tell them we have whatever munitions they need. Then stand back and het everybody out of the way.

The Iranian people, similar to the Chinese people, are basically good but a people that can be cowed into following an evil government are just as dangerous and harmful as though they were evil as well.

You call Benjamin and make it clear to him that the US will not interfere with any of Israel's actions against Iran.
