Assaulting Jewish students on campus and community members outside synagogues is free speech. Any effort to stop them is an assault on “free speech” and “democratic norms”. Former Cleveland City Councilman Basheer Jones will host a going-away party Friday night before surrendering to authorities to begin a prison sentence on corruption-related charges — and is apparently inviting the general public.
Jones, 40, posted a birthday party-style invitation twice on Facebook and Instagram. The graphic reads “Basheer Going Away PARTY” against a backdrop of a starry night sky with string lights. It invites people to join him at Kulture Lounge in Cleveland Heights at 10 p.m. on Friday.
“This is my final weekend before my vacation!” the post reads. “Come enjoy beautiful music and vibes!”
Ohio Republicans introduced a bill on Tuesday to designate a month solely to honor only Ohio families helmed by a cisgender heterosexual couple in a lifelong, monogamous relationship.
House Bill (HB) 262 would designate “Natural Family Month,” for the period of time from Mother’s Day, which is the second Sunday in May, to Father’s Day, the third Sunday in June.
Though the bill designates but does not define “Natural Family Month,” an explanation for the month can be found on the website of the Natural Family Foundation (NFF), a Westerville, Ohio-based group.

A 55-year-old Akron woman was arrested May 5 and charged with multiple drug offenses after a raccoon was discovered in her vehicle holding a meth pipe in its mouth, Springfield Township police posted on Facebook.
Officers initially conducted a traffic stop at about 7:15 p.m. after identifying a vehicle whose owner had both an active warrant and a suspended driver's license.
After officers detained the driver, police then discovered a raccoon named "Chewy" sitting in the driver's seat with a meth pipe in its mouth, police reported. Officers further inspected the vehicle after that discovery and ended up finding a "bulk amount" of meth, crack cocaine and three used glass meth pipes.

According to one report, shareholders of some leading companies, including Costco, Apple, Levi’s, John Deere, Goldman Sachs, and others, have voted against proposals targeting DEI programs.

For over 40 years, Horowitz was a strong advocate and defender of conservatives, founding the David Horowitz Freedom Center in 1988, among his various accomplishments in politics. A six-minute video was posted on his X account by the Freedom Center, detailing the conservative’s life.

Comey later deleted the post after online backlash from government officials, lawmakers and President Donald Trump’s son. Trump has faced two assassination attempts — one of which resulted in him being shot and a bystander being killed — in the past year.
