A 19-year-old former Michigan Army National Guardsman was arrested on May 13 after he attempted to carry out a plan for a mass shooting at a U.S. military base in Warren, Michigan, on behalf of ISIS, according to the Department of Justice (DOJ).
The DOJ announced in a statement that Ammar Abdulmajid-Mohamed Said, of Melvindale, a community near Dearborn, has been charged with attempting to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization and distributing information related to a destructive device.
“The arrest of this former soldier is a sobering reminder of the importance of our counterintelligence efforts to identify and disrupt those who would seek to harm our nation,”

Speedy trial. If found guilty, firing squad. Anyone interfering with due process? Twenty years breaking rocks. No mercy.

Can you believe? Name sounded nothing like "Tom Smith" or "John Harper" or Barry Goldfinch"... what's going on? Are we seeing a pattern of strength in diversity'/ Advancement of Our Democracy thru "inclusivity"?

Gretchen Whitmer kidnapping plot? J6 pipe bombs? Hunter's laptop? Hillary's library of FBI files in her personal residence in the White House? Richard Jewel investigation? Should I go on? They likely have dozens of manufactured plots ready to hatch on command when they need some good press coverage.

How is it a 19 year old, a 19 y/o, is already a 'former' guardsman? You have to be 18 to join. What happened there?

They had problem inducting him, yet they worried about somebody being too patriotic.

I used to work in a building right across the street. As soon as I retired I moved 150 miles away. The Detroit area is infested with these people.

Dearborn, That new city the Muslims want to build in Texas, and a growing Muslim population in America.
It's like a nest of snakes. We know their aim and we still allow them to stay here.

The article SHOULD read : " The arrest of this former soldier is a sobering reminder of the danger of having muslims in our military...let alone our society. "

Observant Muslims hold allegiance to their religion first and foremost, above any worldly State. So if a Muslim has been radicalized, so it follows that once the defendant has been radicalized, what allegedly occurred with this incident should be no surprise!

Good work...law enforcement dudes...you're one step ahead of the criminals...now which judge will interfere with this indictment?....an attack on any base is a war crime...and he should get the firing squad....the blue haired whacko will want him to get sympathy because he is human...I beg to differ...he's an animal...he's not getting the soft cushy treatment...water board him and find out the real reason and who's behind it...

I remember the Fort Hood murders. The shooter's name was Nidal Hasan who killed fifteen people and injured thirty others. A Major, no less, so he was not new. Allowing Muslims to migrate here is like allowing rattlesnakes, cobras, scorpions etc.into your country. If Vegas was accepting bets the odds would be 100 to one in favor of them committing another mass murder that will dwarf 9-11. They use our constitutional freedom of religion, laugh at it, and commit abominable crimes against us.

Headline Correction:
"Former National Guardsman......"
should read:
"Abdulmajid-Mohamed Said, Former National Guardsman....."
Put his name -and cultural background- up front instead of burying it 4 lines down in the text.

If he is only 19-yrs-old and already a "former" Guardsman, he did not complete his initial enlistment. Does he even qualify as a veteran? (180 continuous days on active duty - basic and AIT usually covers it.)
Seems like SOMEBODY didn't think he should have been wearing a uniform.

#19: Yeah, it would be nice if the non-main-stream media would abide by the journalistic style of writing that was developed looooong before the main-stream media became the lame-stream media.
From "Wikipedia", I quote:
News writing attempts to answer all the basic questions about any particular event—who, what, when, where, and why (the Five Ws) and often how—at the opening of the article. This form of structure is sometimes called the "inverted pyramid", to refer to the decreasing importance of information in subsequent paragraphs.
So many things I read online, whatever the info is that was mentioned in the headline is the second-to-last paragraph in the article, after the author's bon mots and personal rants, aka "burying the lede."
