Older adults are being warned against receiving the chikungunya vaccine before traveling. The Ixchiq vaccination, developed by Valneva to prevent the mosquito-borne chikungunya virus, was approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in November 2023 as the first of its kind.
The approval applies to anyone aged 18 and older who has a risk of being exposed to the virus. But the FDA and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released a safety notice on May 9 recommending that adults over 60 years old pause use of the vaccine due to fatal complications.
FDA and CDC will continue the evaluation of post-marketing safety reports for Ixchiq,"

In the weeks surrounding President Trump’s inauguration, America’s propaganda press relentlessly cited leftist claims that 15,000 trans-identifying individuals would be booted from the military under the new commander-in-chief. The insinuation, of course, was that such a move would harm “military readiness” and the country’s national security.
In a statement to The Federalist, a Defense Department official said that, as of February, there are “approximately 4,200 Active-duty, Guard and Reserve service members currently serving diagnosed with gender dysphoria” throughout the armed forces. The total is roughly the same that was announced by the agency in February.

Saudi Arabia is the first of three stops President Donald Trump will make on his four-day tour. He’ll also visit the lavish wealthy nations of Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
In all three countries Trump will aim to announce economic deals – with hopes that progress can be made on some complicated geopolitical issues as well. First, Trump will spend the day today in various engagements with Mohammed Bin Salman.A Saudi official close to the defense ministry said Riyadh will push for securing the latest US F-35 fighter jets along with state-of-the-art air defense systems worth billions of dollars. ‘We will condition that the deliveries take place during Trump’s term,’

If you don’t care whether children come to class, you don’t care if they learn at all — and that’s what New York City’s regular public-school system has come to.
Public-school teacher Mike Dowd’s damning column in Friday’s Post confirmed our worst fears about the sad state of the system.
A third of students in Department of Education schools, more than 300,000, are chronically absent — and uncounted others miss much of the school day.
Teachers aren’t allowed to penalize kids for skipping class thanks to “reforms” made in the name of “equity” under Mayor Bill de Blasio that have continued under Mayor Eric Adams.

President Donald Trump is confronting the dragon behind the panda mask with precision. It’s very obvious the prior reconnaissance, trade probes and tariff tests of ’17, ’18, ’19, are paying dividends.
President Trump has cut off the transnational shipping lanes by globalizing the tariffs against China. Beijing is in a forced holding pattern waiting to see the outcome of Southeast Asia and European trade agreements.
Having spent some serious time in the field in advance of ‘Liberty Day’ all of my contacts have the same message; China is trying to find position.

It’s a sad day in America when the chief justice of the U.S. Supreme Court ignores the basic framework of the Constitution he’s supposed to interpret.
That’s what happened on Wednesday, when Chief Justice John Roberts took it upon himself to subtly thumb his nose at President Trump and conservatives (snip) … the judiciary is a co-equal branch of government, separate from the others, with the authority to interpret the Constitution as law and strike down, obviously, acts of Congress or acts of the president. That innovation doesn’t work if … the judiciary’s not independent. Its job is to, obviously, decide cases, but in the course of that, check the excesses

The Catholic Church’s new Pope has publicly described migration as a “huge problem” even as he also urges Christians to treat migrants with respect.
“It’s a huge problem, and it’s a problem worldwide, not only in this country. There’s got to be a way both to solve the problem, but also treat people with respect,” then-Cardinal Robert Prevost preached in a Catholic Mass, according to an undated video:

Pope Leo XIV, the newly-elected leader of the Catholic Church, previously opposed the promotion of gender theory while serving as Bishop of Chiclayo in Peru.
According to the New York Times, the Holy Father previously “opposed a government plan to add teachings on gender in schools.”
“The promotion of gender ideology is confusing, because it seeks to create genders that don’t exist,” he told local news media at the time.
The pope’s statements stand in line with his predecessor, Pope Francis, who repeatedly denounced gender ideology as an attack on children. In 2024, Pope Francis even referred to gender ideology as one of the ugliest ideologies of modern times, per the Vatican News.

Newark, New Jersey, Mayor Ras Baraka and three congressional representatives, Bonnie Watson Coleman, Rob Menendez and LaMonica McIver attempted a political stunt at a local ICE detention facility in Newark. Mayor Ras Baraka was arrested.
The intention of the group was to shut down deportation operations at Delaney Hall, a 1,000-bed detention facility used by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as part of the removal process for illegal aliens. Baraka, Coleman, Menendez and McIver created a public disturbance as part of their stunt and trespassed on federal facilities.
As an outcome, Mayor Ras Baraka was handcuffed and led away by federal authorities as the agitated crowd tried to fight

As anticipated, President Trump has moved Acting USAO Ed Martin to an internal position within Main Justice where he will oversee a review of the Dept of Justice weaponization efforts that took place under Joe Biden.
Mr Martin will also be responsible for reviewing pardons as the DOJ pardon attorney, which also seems to align with the “autopen” review.
(Via Truth Social) – “Ed Martin has done an AMAZING job as interim U.S. Attorney, and will be moving to the Department of Justice as the new Director of the Weaponization Working Group

President Donald Trump says he will appoint Fox News host and former prosecutor Jeanine Pirro as interim U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia.
Trump announced the pick in a post on Truth Social.
The selection comes as Trump told reporters in the Oval Office Thursday that Ed Martin, who is currently serving as D.C.'s interim top prosecutor, would not be taking the position permanently after losing support among top Republicans in the Senate.

The longterm goal is to get SA to join the Abraham Accords.
