less than expected and lowest since 2021

Inflation was slightly lower than expected in April as President Donald Trump’s tariffs just began hitting the slowing U.S. economy, according to a Labor Department report Tuesday. The consumer price index, which measures the costs for a broad range of goods and services, rose a seasonally adjusted 0.2% for the month, putting the 12-month inflation rate at 2.3%, its lowest since February 2021, the Bureau of Labor Statistics said. The monthly reading was in line with the Dow Jones consensus estimate while the 12-month was a bit below the forecast for 2.4%. Excluding volatile food and energy prices, core CPI

Good news is always ''unexpected''. Dems will be furious - stock market up, inflation down, borders are sealed.

2.3% my keester. Been to the store lately? Been to the gas station lately? The dow may be up in bits and pieces but its still down 3000 from a few months ago. Just because a liar is on our side doesn't make his lies any more true.

At Walmart a gallon of milk went from $3.99 to $4.26 overnight. I noticed price increases on other things.

#1 That's what I was going to say. My jaw continually drops at the prices when shopping at the grocery store. It seems like everything has gone up in the last two months. I just heard Trump say that the price if gas is way down. Near us it shot up to $3.39 a few days ago and it's not because of the switch to summer grade. That increase happened a few weeks ago.

The first sentence is a joke, first they say inflation is lower but tariffs are hitting implying that inflation is going up and the slowing economy all while jobs are increasing? I read "putting the 12-month inflation rate at 2.3%, its lowest since February 2021" #3 see it, what did happen a few days before Feb 2021?

In 1929 when the market crashed you had people jumping out of skyscraper windows. Democrats and their MSM will be cheering for a market crash and will no doubt start jumping out windows when the market soars under President Trump's leadership. They are stuck on stupid.

If Walmart's prices are going up, they are no longer making big profits on the cheap Chinese junk that they have been selling for years and must raise prices on other goods. Donald Trump may not meet all of your expectations but he does not lie. If you prefer a vegetable running the government, move to California or Michigan or New York.

If I stare long enough at the prices on the grocery shelves, I can see them move up.

MIAMI BEACH, Florida — Activist and philanthropist Abigail Disney urged donors and the leaders of major foundations and nonprofits to be braver with their giving, especially at a time when more are fearful about speaking their minds. (Snip) Disney told The Associated Press in an interview before the panel that she planned to be more outspoken because “everyone has been so quiet since the election.” Many question why major donors and foundations have not reacted faster to the Trump administration’s cuts to foreign aid and federal funding to nonprofits, though some organizations, like the Marguerite Casey Foundation, have opted to

DENVER — The impact of President Donald Trump's new policies and executive orders have been felt around the country, including in Denver classrooms. Data from Denver Public Schools found that in the weeks and months after Trump took office, his mass deportation plans and the fear they instilled in some communities had a big impact on how many kids came to class. The resolution itself involves the U.S. spending “trillions” on reparations for black Americans.
