The media have been going bananas wondering when President Trump will begin negotiations with China. President Trump has been very clear that there is no need to open negotiations with China, but all discussions are welcome. Essentially the point is that tariffs will remain in place until Beijing gets to a point where they acquiesce to the reality of President Trump’s terms for reciprocal trade. The goal is to bring manufacturing back to the USA, not generate terms where manufacturing remains in China. The Chinese trade delegation is scheduled to be in Switzerland at the same time as Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer

Yes, trade concessions good. Taiwan concessions, better... South China Sea concessions, better... Lots of reasons to put a collar on China.

Notify China in person that every trade agreement with them has been renegotiated with another country and then say 'Bye'. The meeting should be quick.

A few weeks ago, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent rightly pointed out that “Access to cheap goods is not the essence of the American dream. The American dream is rooted in the concept that any citizen can achieve prosperity, upward mobility, and economic security. For too long, the designers of multilateral trade deals have lost sight of this.” His comments received backlash from folks who believe that cheaply made Chinese goods are more important than the health of the American workforce and the longevity of our domestic economy. Former Vice President Mike Pence jumped on the bandwagon in an interview with CNN to declare that “Cheap goods are a big part

America’s Immigration Problem Won’t

On Monday President Donald Trump floated the idea that illegal aliens who voluntarily self-deport could be given a chance to come back legally, as though the only issue is mass illegal immigration. But this position represents a dangerous misdiagnosis of the real problem. It’s not that illegal immigration is a problem simply because it’s, well, illegal. Mass migration — whether legal or illegal — is national suicide. The sheer volume of foreign arrivals reshapes the country in ways no election can reverse and no bureaucratic process can fix. A nation isn’t just laws — a nation is its people, its culture, and its identity.

The Supreme Court lifted a lower-court judge’s ruling that paused the administration’s ban on mentally unstable people who were uncertain of their gender. The DEI judges (Latino, Lesbian and Black) dissented. Previously, President Trump stopped allowing transvestites to participate in military service for obvious ‘mission critical’ reasons. A lower court said that was unconstitutional and blocked the ban. The Supreme Court has ruled 6-3 that stopping psychologically unstable trans-identifying people, was within the scope of authority of the commander in chief.O(snip)a lower-court judge’s ruling that had paused the administration’s ban, concluding it was likely unconstitutional and based on distortions of limited research on the subject.

Is Sen. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., trying to sabotage his 2026 reelection bid? It’s a question worth asking when considering that the Tarheel State’s senior senator seems to be doing everything in his power to betray his constituents ahead of next year’s primary. While speaking to reporters on Capitol Hill on Tuesday, Tillis, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, formally announced his opposition to the nomination of Ed Martin to serve as the next U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia. With a 12-10 Republican majority on the committee, Tillis’ opposition likely nullifies the body’s ability to favorably move Martin’s nomination to the full Senate for final confirmation.

Habemus papam — we have a pope, and progressive Catholics will likely be pleased. And for the first time ever, the pope is an American. Cardinal Robert Prevost, now Leo XIV, is an American who also has Peruvian citizenship. He was a favorite of the late Pope Francis but has often kept a fairly low public profile, meaning that while his tendencies indicate a less traditional and strictly doctrinal perspective, his likely actions as pope have yet to be clearly predicted. But his first speech ominously seemed much in line with progressive rhetoric. It is unfortunate that the new pope was a favorite of the late Pope Francis, who prioritized leftist politics
