‘Tasteless’: NYC Tears Down Statue
Of Thomas Jefferson, Erects 12-foot Statue
of 'Overweight Black Woman'

Original Article

New York City previously tore down a historic Thomas Jefferson statue only to now erect a 12-foot bronze statue of an "overweight black woman," which many blasted as “tasteless” and more.[Snip] Times Square called the “pose of the woman’s body and ease of her stance” in the statue a “subtle nod to Michelangelo’s David” and that it “confronts preconceived notions of identity and representation.” It was comments like how the statue provides a “stark contrast" to the two current Times Square statues of “white men” on pedestals that got social media users upset.

Comments:

There is no need to tear down statues of accomplished white people in an effort to build up black people. There are very accomplished black women and men worthy of such a statue, if the purpose were truly unity.

The ubiquitous similar real life representations walking on the streets of every city in America weren’t enough to cause "an introspective meditation on humanity”? A statue of an average overweight white woman could just as easily have shown a contrast to the statues of two white men who actually did something worth memorializing. But, that wouldn’t have screamed an overt perspective on race nearly as loudly. Why not a statue of a notable black woman from NYC - one who was admired, loved and respected by people of every race - rather than focus on contrasting skin color? Why not Ella Fitzgerald? Ella Fitzgerald did more to unite humanity with one song than that 12 ft. Statue could do if it stayed in Times Square permanently. She was a true activist for civil rights, who genuinely contributed to righting contrasting wrongs, and actually bringing people together. No one benefits from focusing on things that separate US. All humans are created of one blood, in the image and after the likeness of God. Why not encourage an introspective meditation on that? (Most people know the answer all too well.)

It's not about honoring blacks or black women. Leftist use blacks for everything to accomplish their communist goals and their hatred for America. The black people most of you know are not like the ones you see on the internet, just like the white crazies you see on the internet are not like the white people you know. The left knows they can't erect a hitlery statute, so they put up an image of a fat black woman and egg you into saying something racist. For some reason, some of you fall for it every time. Remember the left has tried to foment a race war since the sixties. The right needs to tear down communist and marxist everything, everywhere, and every chance we get!
