Meet the New American Pope of the Catholic Church

Original Article

Habemus papam — we have a pope, and progressive Catholics will likely be pleased. And for the first time ever, the pope is an American. Cardinal Robert Prevost, now Leo XIV, is an American who also has Peruvian citizenship. He was a favorite of the late Pope Francis but has often kept a fairly low public profile, meaning that while his tendencies indicate a less traditional and strictly doctrinal perspective, his likely actions as pope have yet to be clearly predicted. But his first speech ominously seemed much in line with progressive rhetoric. It is unfortunate that the new pope was a favorite of the late Pope Francis, who prioritized leftist politics

Comments:

I'll give anyone a chance to prove themselves, but Pope Francis is the reason I haven't been to Mass in years.

1. He's younger than me. That's disturbing. 2. He's opposed to LGBQ. That's good. 3. He's critical of Trump's deportation policy. He's a Peruvian citizen. So, there you go. Looks like we got another loser.

He is pro-life and does not compromise doctrine. And of course he is pro-poor. For God's sake. ... Also meaningful: this election came on the feast day of Our Lady of Pompeii, a shrine set up by an ex-Satanist and lawyer, Bartolo Longo, who converted at mid-life and set out to serve God and revive the faith in a poor and discouraged and faithless place. And his efforts were the best he could do but he did not really know what to do. His efforts would be kind of funny and hopeless looking were it not that God crowned them with miracles. It is now a widely loved shrine and feastday. In the grace of this day, here is hoping all Satanists turn to our Lady for help getting to Heaven instead. Queen of Heaven, rejoice, alleluia!

He’s already complaining about Trump’s stance on illegal immigration. Ok, then tear down the 39 ft wall around the Vatican and let anyone enter. I grew up with the Latin mass and I had to wear a head covering of some sort. Then came the hootenanny mass. Nope. And now, I don’t know what to think.

Let's wait and see before start criticizing. I am a practicing catholic. Didn't like Francis at all. I like the name he chose and the order he is from. He will have to deal with the lavender mafia, pedofilia in the clergy and traffic of minors. Let alone poverty in the world. Not an easy task. May God help him

He was ordained Cardinal in 2024. Seems to me he was fast tracked which means he might be Francis chosen successor. Time will tell. He doesn't have to follow in the footsteps of his predecessor. He was leader of a group in the Vatican that chose future Bishops, so he was shaping the church.

Not Catholic myself, but my sons are & I was REALLY lucky to have benefitted from wonderful Catholic school education! Frankly, he doesn't really strike me as a particularly 'political' individual....guess we'll soon find out. I, too, love the name he chose, and I'm a big fan of St. Augustine, so there's that!

Pope Francis stacked the deck with 163 cardinals from 76 countries ensuring the installation of his clone Robert Prevost. So much for the Holy Spirit playing any part of this charade. Robert Prevost is not "The Church". Robert Prevost is Robert Prevost. A continuing disaster of a story yet to be written. "The Church" will prevail. Robert Prevost will not.

Investigative reporter Breanna Morello joined Natalie Winters on The War Room on Thursday to discuss her latest explosive investigation at Independent News Room. Breanna told the War Room crowd that her sources in HSI told her that only around 5% of the 300,000 lost children who crossed the border during the Biden years have been found. Breanna says Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), gave fake addresses for the 300,000 missing children. And now the Trump administration is working diligently to find these missing and trafficked children.

This just in: Big animals that can weigh in at a ton, have inch-thick hides, masses of matted hair that is nearly as good as chain-mail armor, that wear big curved perforators on their heads, and that have prickly temperaments, can be dangerous. The animal described, of course, is the American bison, a big, imposing creature, a holdover from the last Ice Age. And yet, people who think that nature is a Disney movie keep getting too close to them and getting hurt. The latest was a Florida man (of course) who fooled around and found out. "Be careful what you wish for" is something I routinely think when mulling over political strategy. Whenever you want a certain politician or appointee removed, you have to be sure that the replacement won't be worse. For instance, when I was writing about LA County Department of Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer, someone asked me, "What if you succeed in having her removed, but they bring in someone who's just as much of a True Believer as Ferrer but easier on the eyes and with better speaking ability?" Unfortunately we haven't yet succeeded in getting rid of Not-a-Doctor Ferrer,

Sanders, of course, has been "fighting oligarchy" with his pal Rep. During an appearance on “The View” on Thursday morning, former President-ish Joe Biden was confronted with a question about his cognitive health, and his response was such a confusing mess that his wife Jill had to jump in and rescue him mid-answer. It started when co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin asked Biden about claims that have been made in several books, written and sourced by Democrat insiders, that indicate that they were all aware of a steep cognitive decline in Biden’s final year in office.

Former President Joe Biden revealed Thursday in his second TV interview after leaving the White House that he “wasn’t surprised” President Trump trounced Kamala Harris in the 2024 election. “I wasn’t surprised, not because I didn’t think the vice president wasn’t the most qualified person to be president. She is,” Biden said during an, at times awkward and halting, appearance on ABC’s “The View.” The ousted Democratic leader then asserted that had he not bowed out of the last presidential contest, he would have won — pointing to Trump getting “7 million fewer votes” nationwide than in their 2020 matchup. “A lot of people didn’t show up,” Biden said of the 2024 election.

We're constantly told that "MAGA" — a catch-all term for conservatives at this point — are the most dangerous threat to the United States of America, with constant references to January 6, yet even as right-leaning Americans prove to be the most peaceful of all, the left continues to demonstrate that it's willing to threaten, intimidate, and do violence if they can get away with it. Antifa is one of those organizations that consistently proves the left to be national antagonists, because they not only do all the foot-soldier work of the left, the left stays absolutely quiet about them, including in this instance.

Joe Biden's decision (or was it the autopen's decision?) to build an improvised pier to shuttle supplies to Gaza - effectively supplying Hamas - was a stupid idea to begin with. It was an attempt to curry favor with anti-Israel elements in the Democratic party, in American academia, and the international community by appearing to look even-handed; it was intended to succor innocent Gazans, although we saw time and again how aid intended for Gazans was confiscated by Hamas. Now we learn that more than 60 American service members were injured in the building of this boondoggle.
