Nonprofit Transparency International released its annual Corruption Perceptions Index, which ranked the U.S. 28th overall in the world when it comes to anti-corruption. The index factors in criteria such as the prevalence of bribery and the degree to which public officials use their positions to benefit themselves.
The U.S. scored its lowest-ever rating on an international corruption index.
On Tuesday, the German nonprofit Transparency International released its annual Corruption Perceptions Index. The latest version of the index, which assessed data through 2024, evaluates corruption in the public sector across 180 countries.

Sen. James Lankford, R-Okla., debuted his annual book of "federal fumbles" that he believes can provide additional ideas for the Elon Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) as it continues to aggressively slash federal agency spending. The founding Senate DOGE Caucus member filled 26 pages with examples of what he believes are government shortcomings and inefficiencies, as well as the money they waste.
In a letter to readers, Lankford wrote, "My goal is to create a roadmap for DOGE, identifying key areas within the federal government and solutions to fix them."

Democrats are anything but democratic.
In the past, their idea of governance was overreach and abuse of power carried through unelected bureaucrats, intimidation attempts by radicalized mobs disguised as protesters, and a weaponized judicial system, especially rogue judges, to impose their will on the public.
As a famous quote often attributed to Mark Twain goes, “History doesn’t repeat itself, but it often rhymes.” Once again, the Democratic Party, when thwarted at the ballot box, has turned to judges to impose its will on the public.

If they don't already, Democrats will soon wish that President Donald Trump had won reelection in 2020.
It's staggering what Trump has already accomplished. Border crossings have plummeted. Trump ended DEI in the federal government. He reversed a 1965 executive order that required companies with federal contracts to put affirmative-action-style quotas in place. He stopped federal funding of transgender surgeries and treatments for minors.
There isn't enough room to mention all his accomplishments in areas like energy, foreign policy and the military.

Elon Musk announced on Tuesday that the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) was looking into a limestone mine in Pennsylvania, where the cost-cutting organization says federal employee retirements are processed manually using a system that could take months. Musk told reporters about the mine on Tuesday during an appearance with President Donald Trump in the Oval Office, as the president prepared to sign an executive order concerning the billionaire’s work leading DOGE.
"And then we're told this is actually, I think, a great anecdote, because we're told the most number of people that could retire possibly in a month is 10,000," Musk said.
"We're like, well, what? Why is that?

The Democrats’ reaction to the Department of Government Efficiency’s necessary mission might seem a bit excessive. But it is understandable. Their taxpayer-funded slush fund has been exposed.
Rather than joining with Elon Musk, who is leading DOGE to root out federal waste and fraud, and improve the transparency of the murky federal leviathan, the Democrats are attacking him. At a rally a week ago outside the Capitol, Democratic Sen. Chris Van Hollen of Maryland and Massachusetts Democratic Rep. Ayanna Pressley, chanted “Elon Musk must go” along with a rabble that seems eager to do harm to the South African billionaire.

North Carolina residents are slamming FEMA after DOGE lead Elon Musk claimed the agency recently spent nearly $60 million on illegal immigrants in New York City, despite reportedly running on empty when it comes to helping American citizens affected by Hurricane Helene.
"It is absolutely infuriating to see millions and millions of dollars going to someone that doesn't have a Social Security number, did not pay taxes, is not an American citizen getting all of this money to go live in a luxury hotel in New York when people we're working with can't even get the bare minimum from FEMA. It's crazy," Weaverville, North Carolina resident

President Donald Trump’s second term is off to a thunderous start. Wasting no time, the president signed a flurry of executive orders on day one, initiating crackdowns on “diversity, equity, and inclusion” (DEI) and illegal immigration. DOGE, the new agency spearheaded by Elon Musk, got to work immediately as well, cutting $1 billion a day in federal spending, a figure it aims to triple.
The tempo set by this administration has proven shocking. After all, Trump’s first term left much to be desired. However, people shouldn’t be too surprised. There are several noteworthy factors that explain why the second Trump administration is outshining the first.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., faced widespread mockery after launching a tipline to "expose corruption, abuses of power, and threats to public safety." On Monday, Schumer shared a link calling on "whistleblowers" to report violations, arguing they "are a vital part of Congressional oversight to hold the administration accountable." The categories whistleblowers can report include "retaliation," "wasteful spending," "fraud," "criminal activity," and "other."
"Today, I’m calling on our brave public servants," the Senate Minority Leader wrote as he shared the tipline form on X.

President Donald Trump on Friday said that he isn’t interested in deporting Prince Harry, who famously left Britain with his wife, Meghan Markle, in 2020, eventually settling in Montecito, California. The Duke of Sussex is in hot water after conservative think tank the Heritage Foundation filed a lawsuit last year against the Department of Homeland Security to have his immigration records released following Harry admitting to illegal drug use in the past in his 2023 memoir "Spare."
"I don’t want to do that," Trump told the New York Post on Friday after being asked if he would deport the royal. "I’ll leave him alone. He’s got enough problems with his wife.

In the renewed vigor of the Oval Office, President Trump doesn’t take meetings in the traditional sense, where one guest leaves before another arrives.
Instead, in gregarious fashion, the president rolls one meeting into another and introduces the principals to each other, creating a burst of high-energy chemistry and humor that has transformed the White House from a mausoleum into a symphony of personal interaction.
He has shaken so many hands that the back of his right hand is almost permanently adorned with a large skin-colored Band-Aid to cover bruises and scratches from enthusiastic well-wishers.

Twice this week, President Donald Trump has publicly noted that he will impose constraints on Elon Musk, a special government employee and the world’s richest man, as Musk works to cut federal spending. Arriving Sunday evening in Washington, Trump told reporters on the tarmac that, “I think Elon’s doing a good job. He’s a big cost-cutter. Sometimes we won’t agree with it and we’ll not go where he wants to go. But I think he’s doing a great job.”
In the Oval Office Monday, Trump said that Musk has “access only to letting people go that he thinks are no good if we agree with him
