The Los Angeles County Fire Department shipped equipment to Ukraine in 2022, and now the Biden administration is working overtime to send the country millions more in handouts as wildfires devastate California. [Snip] The fire department donated its own “surplus” supplies to help a foreign regime and is now caught flat-footed without the capacity to respond to the Pacific Palisades wildfire,... [Snip] In a reactionary move...the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has cut a deal with California to reimburse the state for having to hire more firefighters, providing compensation for up to 75 percent of “eligible firefighting costs” for things like equipment, supplies, and mobilization efforts.

Hmmm . . . I guess it's more about who you are to get the benefits of FEMA. It looks like "they're" falling all over themselves to help in California, while the devastation in North Carolina still languishes.

Positions that receive little attention when a new Administration takes over are those below the Secretary of the various Departments. Such as the Chief of the US Forest Service (part of the Department of Agriculture). And how ironic for the Biden Regime to cite concern for wildlife if they had prescribed burns when their precious wind farms are decimating our native wild birds.

I'm a native Angeleno. It breaks my heart to see the devastation of my home town. All of my family are safe. They've all migrated to the outer-ring suburbs that straddle the L.A. and Ventura county line. This tragedy has been in the making for decades, its just that the new DEI mayor got caught holding the bag. After the "cluster-f" of the Rodney King riots, TK and I decided to leave the city. The following year (1993) we found and bought the homestead in Mendocino County, moving here in June of '99. During the riot TK was on the LAPD and a major in the National Guard. He switched uniforms on the first day. I was the City Council liaison for the Dept. of Airports. TK experienced the dysfunctional leadership in the PD under Chief Gates. I experienced the dysfunctional City government authorities; communications between the PD and City Hall were non-existent during the entire emergency. Mayor Bradley and Chief Gates hated each other with a white-hot passion. It went back decades to the time Bradley was a lieutenant on the PD, but the two men could not put their differences aside for the good of the city. I pray this is a wake-up call to the "woke" citizens of Los Angeles. They need to vote in the City elections, and learn how to discern who is worthy of that vote. The cartoon today of the California bear walking off the flag reminds me of dream I had during the summer I was ten. I dreamed that the word "Republic" had been removed from our state flag. When I awoke, I was disturbed. We had a neighbor down the street that always flew the state flag, so first thing out the door I walked down to his house to check. I remember my relief when I saw the word "Republic" was still there. (Shades of Francis Scott Key!)
