Americans, our long national nightmare, the Biden presidency, is almost over. First, we must endure six more weeks of damage that President Joe Biden will inflict on the American people.Biden just gave Hunter, his son who was convicted on gun and tax evasion charges, an expansive 11-year pardon, after repeatedly promising he would not engage in such familial favoritism. Biden’s lies were so egregious that at a recent White House press briefing, CNN reporter MJ Lee asked a very pertinent question, “The next time that the president says he will or won’t do something, why should the American people believe him?”

The good news first: As RedState has been reporting, Christopher Wray is on his way out as director of the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI). President-elect Donald Trump called it a "great day for America as it will end the Weaponization of what has become known as the United States Department of Injustice" and promised his new administration "will now restore the rule of law for all Americans." Trump also signaled his support for Kash Patel, his nominee to succeed Wray as FBI director. "We want our FBI back, and that will now happen," Trump wrote, as he ended his post, adding: "I look forward to Kash Patel’s confirmation,

Donald Trump must move hard and fast to get his agenda enacted. He’s going to be opposed not only by the bureaucrats of the Deep State but by, to some extent, the courts, congressional Democrats, and soft Republicans. Fortunately, President Trump, as chief executive – the unitary executive – has tremendous authority. He and his appointees, as well as Republicans in Congress, must use it. They will feel considerable pressure to be soft and weak, not only from the regime media but from the spineless establishmentarians. They must reject it, and fully exercise the power the American people have granted them. There are practical limitations to Donald Trump’s soon-to-be-recovered power.

The boss of the parent company that oversees UnitedHealthcare called murdered former CEO Brian Thompson 'one of the good guys' in a memo to staff. Luigi Mangione, 26, was taken into custody on firearm charges Monday afternoon at the fast food joint in Altoona, Pennsylvania, five days after he allegedly shot and killed Thompson, 50, outside of a Manhattan hotel. In the aftermath of the shooting, many expressed online outrage over the company's history of rejecting necessary treatment - especially under Thompson - as they praised the gunman for his actions.

“The immigration surge of the past few years has been the largest in U.S. history,” the New York Times admitted five weeks after the nation’s voters rejected the Democrats’ wealth-shifting migration policy. ‘Total net migration during the Biden administration is likely to exceed eight million people,” including legal and illegal migrants, said the report by David Leonhardt, “a senior writer … who runs The Morning, our flagship daily newsletter.” He wrote: That’s a faster pace of arrivals than during any other period on record, including the peak years of Ellis Island traffic, when millions of Europeans came to the United States. Both Daniel Penny and Luigi Mangione were born in 1998, the year that President Bill Clinton was impeached over the Monica Lewinsky scandal and three years before 9/11. They were raised less than 250 miles apart: Penny on Long Island, and Mangione in Towson, Md., the only sons to loving families. Penny is the middle child of three sisters, and Mangione has two younger sisters. Both grew up into athletic and diligent young men. Mangione’s upbringing was more privileged than Penny’s, and he was more academically successful.

The New York Times’ Book Summit roundtable discussion about the 2024 election was rather lively at times since anti-Trump hysterics did filter through, causing Kellyanne Conway to spar with Sarah Longwell, publisher of The Bulwark, a notorious anti-Trump publication. Longwell went so far as to call Conway and pretty much anyone who supports Trump ‘bad people’ while she peddled the same January 6 stuff that no one cares about—Conway slapped her down, saying she had stage 5 Trump derangement syndrome. That question really sums up this interesting column by Thomas Edsall. His thesis is that Democrats are in real trouble because the only path out of the current quagmire the party is in would be to moderate. But that's not something the party's increasingly woke base will allow them to do. The whole essence of woke culture is to make every issue one of moral certitude where no political compromise can intrude. Simply put, they don't want to talk about it, they want you to comply or else. He opens by noting some survey results that show voters believed Trump was closer to them politically than Harris.

Who knew a couple of years ago that the most interesting figure in Washington politics would be John Fetterman? He won election to the Senate after suffering a major stroke, and he mostly distinguished himself in fights over his apparel. But as Fetterman's recovery continues, he has turned into a remarkable figure of integrity -- even while still remaining firm on policy. And if that weren't enough to generate some admiration -- and it is, it is! -- then Fetterman's decision to join an alternate social-media platform certainly is. And it ain't BlueSky either: The Trump hush money and Hunter Biden cases were both
