Phildadelphia— More than 400 tips were called into the New York Police Department’s Crime Stoppers tip line during the five-day search for a masked gunman who ambushed and fatally shot UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson last week. NYPD officials said about 30 of those tips were useful as information about the gunman’s movements before and after the Dec. 4 shooting. But it wasn’t until a 911 call came in from a McDonald’s employee in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on Monday that police zeroed in on their suspect. Up to $60,000 in rewards from the FBI and the Crime Stoppers program had been offered to anyone calling in a tip leading to

What's the tax rate on reward money? Is the government going to pay it and then have the IRS take half of it back?

I wish they'd get the story straight. I heard that it was a customer who noticed the resemblance, informed the worker, who then called the police. I would hope that the customer would get at least a portion of the reward money, if not the lion's share.

The mystery of the swarm of drones seen in New Jersey and other northeastern states for at least the last month still hasn't been solved and is at the top of the news cycle as we head into the weekend (as expertly covered by our own Ward Clark), and finally, President-Elect Donald Trump has weighed in on the topic. Trump made a simple statement on Truth Social: (Truth) He wrote: Mystery Drone sightings all over the Country. Can this really be happening without our government’s knowledge. I don’t think so! Let the public know, and now. Otherwise, shoot them down!!! DJT Musk's first statement was a tongue-in-cheek response

President-elect Donald Trump is weighing a bid to save the failing Waldorf-Astoria hotel in Washington, DC – and rebrand it once more as a Trump International Hotel, The Post has learned. Three sources familiar with the situation said that the incoming commander-in-chief’s company, the Trump Organization, is weighing options that include a licensing deal or even possibly buying back the lease on the government-owned, 125-year-old Old Post Office building. “Our family has saved the hotel once. If asked, we would save it again,” Eric Trump told The Post in an exclusive interview. (Photo) The luxury lodge at 1100 Pennsylvania Ave. – just a few blocks away

The re-election of Donald Trump has created overwhelming angst among the press. With Trump, they have been like the opposite of the Humpty Dumpty rhyme. The media are all the king’s horses and all the king’s men -- and they couldn’t tear Humpty Dumpty apart. All of their screeching about his menace only makes him successful. Longtime CBS News correspondent Lesley Stahl engaged in conversation at the 92nd Street Y in New York City with columnist Peggy Noonan, and they both agreed the legacy media are "fraying" – for 20 years, Noonan insisted. "I'm extremely worried about the press," Stahl said, as she dragged out her usual story about Trump

The FBI spied on Trump’s nominee for FBI Director Kash Patel, according to the Justice Department’s Inspector General report. Last month, President Trump officially nominated Kash Patel for the role of FBI Director in his next Administration. Kash Patel played an important role exposing the Russiagate hoax when he spearheaded the House Intelligence Committee’s investigation into the Hillary-funded Steele dossier under Devon Nunes. Mr. Patel detailed how Paul Ryan rigged his Russiagate investigation before he even started it in an exclusive post for TGP here.

Former Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R) claims he saw “large drones” in the sky above his Davidsonville home, located roughly 25 miles from Washington, DC, and called for the federal government to “immediately address” the ongoing issue of reported drone sightings. In a post on X, Hogan explained that he had “observed” the unidentified drone activity for “approximately 45 minutes.” Hogan criticized the “White House, the military, the FBI” and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for saying they don’t know “what they are” or “where they came from,” while also saying “they pose no threat.”

It took long enough. Nine months after an Army four-star general was reported to have repeatedly interfered with a command selection board to favor his apparent mistress, Army Secretary Christine Wormuth has forced General Charles Hamilton into retirement. Army Secretary Christine Wormuth -- in a dramatic and rare move -- on Tuesday fired one of the service's top generals following an Army inspector general investigation that concluded he improperly intervened in the process for selecting senior commanders. Gen. Charles Hamilton, who had been the head of Army Materiel Command, was removed after what officials described as a flagrant abuse of authority aimed at securing a leadership role for a subordinate officer
