The Justice Department’s Office of the Inspector General confirmed the presence of at least 26 FBI informants in Washington, DC, during the Jan. 6, 2021, storming of the Capitol, but added that there was no evidence of undercover bureau agents there.
Of those informants, four entered the Capitol in the midst of the riot, 13 went into a restricted area and nine had not been engaged in illegal activity, according to a report from the inspector general released Thursday. “We found no evidence in the materials we reviewed or the testimony we received showing or suggesting that the FBI had undercover employees in the various protest crowds

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer demanded answers from the Selective Service agency for reposting a vulgar social media screed last month suggesting the US may be on a similar trajectory to Nazi Germany. Although the report was subsequently scrubbed from the Selective Service’s official X account, Comer (R-Ky.) is keen on obtaining additional information on the matter and wants to ensure the perpetrator is fired. “The Committee is deeply disturbed that an independent federal agency, tasked with registering and maintaining a system of individuals potentially subject to military conscription if authorized by the President and Congress, would re-post a wholly unsubstantiated, false, and contemptible claim,”

The Biden administration suggested that there may be no drones over New Jersey at all — as it sought to tamp down growing frustration over a lack of answers from the feds over sightings. “We have not been able to, and neither have state and local law enforcement authorities, been able to corroborate any of the reported visual sightings,” White House national security communications adviser John Kirby told reporters during a briefing Thursday.
“Upon review of available imagery, it appears many of the reports of sightings are actually manned aircraft that are being operated lawfully,” he added.

Few in the media seemed eager to attend a ceremony last week in Washington, D.C., where the prestigious American Academy of Sciences and Letters was awarding its top intellectual freedom award. The problem may have been the recipient: Stanford Professor Dr. Jay Bhattacharya. Bhattacharya has spent years being vilified by the media over his dissenting views on the pandemic. As one of the signatories of the 2020 Great Barrington Declaration, he was canceled, censored, and even received death threats.

While the WNBA is getting sellout crowds for the finals between the New York Liberty and Minnesota Lynx, the league’s owners will not be making a return on their investment for the foreseeable future, sources close to the situation said. The NBA owns nearly 60 percent of the league. When one combines the NBA owners’ personal stakes in WNBA teams and the WNBA itself, the amount rises to 75 percent, a source with direct knowledge of the numbers said.

Jewish support for the 2024 Democratic presidential nominee is on track to be the lowest since the Ronald Reagan era, according to a new poll from the Manhattan Institute. If the election were held today, Harris would win the support of just 67% of Jewish voters, while former President Trump would take 31% of Jews, the survey found. More than four out of five described themselves as “enthusiastic” about their choice. Though Jewish voters on the whole remain overwhelmingly supportive of Democrats, that support has dipped noticeably from highs achieved during administrations of Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush.

Iranian operatives in the US fund and fuel hate on campus and spread propaganda across the country — and even get face time with friendly American elected officials, according to an alarming new report on extremism by George Washington University researchers. In one of the report’s concerning images, Vice President Kamala Harris is seen happily mingling with an imam at the center of the murderous regime’s influence campaign. An Iranian-born cleric who served as head of the Iranian Navy’s political-ideological office during the 1980s, Imam Mohammad Ali Elahi has deep, decades-long ties to his homeland, and has praised the Islamic Republic’s bloodthirsty founder

My only conversation with Pete Rose came in the early 1980s, when he was with the Phillies. And he started it. It was early April, a Friday night, and the Phils were to be on NBC’s “Game of the Week,” the next day. Some NBC public relations fellows were driving down to Philly for the game and asked if I’d like to join them. With our red media field-access credentials dangling from our belts, we watched batting practice from behind the cage. When Rose finished his swings, he walked over, eyed the press passes, then began to speak. Boy, did he.

A staggering 69% of New Yorkers believe Mayor Eric Adams should resign after he was slapped with bombshell federal corruption charges, a new poll published Friday shows. A whopping 71% of Adams’ own Democratic Party think Hizzoner should call it quits — and 80% think he shouldn’t run for office again, according to the Marist New York City Poll, the first since the mayor was indicted. If he does stick to his word and fight the charges, nearly two-thirds of voters — 63% — believe Gov. Kathy Hochul should tap her rarely used power as governor to force him to step down, the poll shows.

After the bombshell indictment of Eric Adams by a federal grand jury, New York City’s powerful business community is scrambling to figure out how to deal with the real possibility of a socialist taking over City Hall. Business titans are said to be terrified at the prospect of Jumaane Williams, the left-wing, anti-cop Public Advocate running the city if Adams is either forced to resign or removed by Gov. Kathy Hochul amid the corruption scandal that has engulfed his mayoralty. “This is scary stuff,” one top business leader told the Post.

The US Navy intercepted a barrage of Houthi missiles and drones launched at three of its warships in the Red Sea on Thursday, two US defense officials said. The attack was one of the largest yet on US warships in the Middle East, one of the officials told CNN. The barrage was launched at the USS Spruance and USS Stockdale — both guided missile destroyers — and the USS Indianapolis, a littoral combat ship, as they traveled north of the Bab el-Mandeb strait. The crucial waterway connects the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. The US ships were targeted “while they were en route to support

Two Missouri teens have been arrested for fatally shooting a beloved Irish chef who brought the community together with “his culinary creations” in front of his Kansas City restaurant. Shaun Brady, 44, was taking out the trash at his eatery, dubbed Brady’s KC, on Wednesday when he saw several people loitering around parked cars out back, Kansas City Police Department Sgt. Phil DiMartino said Thursday, according to KCTV.
The cherished figure in Kansas City’s Irish community then confronted the group, which escalated into violence and led to Brady being fatally shot steps away from his restaurant, DiMartino said.
