Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi said she has appealed to Rome for a decision concerning San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone’s ban on her receiving the Holy Eucharist due to her public support for abortion. [Snip] A 2004 memo to the U.S. bishops from then-Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, later Pope Benedict XVI, states that “consistently campaigning and voting for permissive abortion and euthanasia laws” requires denial of Communion. [Snip] Pelosi has regularly displayed a lack of basic understanding about the concept of sin. For example, she called pro-life protections for innocent babies “sinful” and claimed that protecting unborn babies is “an assault” on women.

Pelosi, Biden and the Pope all belong to the same church. Not sure exactly what church it is, but it isn't Catholic! Maybe they should call it the church of the rainbow keffiyeh!

I have my own worries. I cannot be concerned with Pelosi's soul. That's her problem. I'm putting it in God's hands.

She should have been excommunicated years ago, along with Joe Biden and Ted Kennedy.

Nancy's vineyard estate in Napa falls under the jurisdiction of my diocese. Immediately after Archbishop Cordileone announced his ban on Pelosi receiving Holy Communion, our bishop made a personal visit to the pastor of the parish she attends there. The Bishop made it quite clear that our diocese will honor and support the Archbishop's communion ban. Our Bishop also supports the Latin Mass and it is celebrated every Sunday in our cathedral. There are still great and good bishops. We are blessed here, even in the midst of of liberal California craziness.

Well, it will reveal if the Pope is truly a Judas Priest. It also depends how much she's paid him.

A decision from the Vatican, if one indeed comes down and permits Pelosi to defile the Blessed Sacrament with her mouth, will be a watershed for believing Catholics and many other Christians. There will be a real schism in the CC in addition to the slow one evolving now.

Someone is approaching the end of her life and starting to worry about her soul. She should get the same treatment that Ted “Splash” Kennedy got when he tried to get JPII to intercede for him while he was on his deathbed.

While much of the church and the world believes otherwise, Rome doesn't have the authority to override a bishop in his own diocese on such matters except to remove him from office. Rome is taking enough hell for removing Strickland over political not theological differences. Not sure they want to p-off more of the faithful. At this point my yearly gift to Rome, AKA Peter's Pence, may well be a check for 1 red cent.

Nancy is taking a page from the Dem playbook. When liberals cannot get what they want from the Legislative branch, they go judge shopping in the Judicial branch. Nancy intends to work her way up through the Cardinals until she finds a sympathetic left winger. She is hoping this ends up in Francis' lap, as the two have met and he refuses to condemn her support of abortion. As others have mentioned, if she gets a pass from Rome, there will be hell to pay elsewhere.

As another has said, Pelosi, Biden, and Teddy Kennedy all should have been excommunicated. Recalling Teddy's final days, some remember that he reached out to the Vatican hoping for something, anything to keep him from perdition and hellfire. The Pope said, "Good luck, Ted." That wasn't what he was after.

All the rituals, declarations, and rosaries in the world won't save her.
She needs to read John 14:6.

To suggest that protecting unborn babies is “an assault” on women is beyond comprehension; abortion is “an assault” on an innocent human life in the womb; the premedidated killing of one human by another—murder. “Thou shalt not murder.” (Exodus 20:13) The author writes that “by presenting herself as a Catholic, while obstinately supporting the intentional destruction of innocent human life, Pelosi is creating scandal.”
