My organization conducts a quarterly poll of registered voters in Minnesota, the results of which are published in our magazine. The polling is done by Meeting Street Insights. Our pollster was in the field last week, and the results will be published in the January issue of Thinking Minnesota. We asked questions that were intended to help explain why people voted the way they did in this year’s presidential election.
I’m going to leak just one finding from our poll, which I thought was remarkable. We asked whether respondents approved or disapproved of a series of Trump initiatives, one of which was the

Do you remember the liberal meltdowns after Trump defeated Hillary Clinton for the presidency in 2016?
There were huge “P-hat” demonstrations (riots), widespread outrage, and unhinged commentary from the corrupt media. Now, we still see that today, some eight years later, as Trump won yet again, but it’s not the same.
There’s a feeling of defeat emanating from the left.
Mostly, we see videos of mentally disturbed Democrats losing their stuff on social media and misty-eyed anchors at MSNBC and CNN still trying to tell us our Democracy is in peril (their ratings prove that few are listening anymore), but we haven’t seen any serious coordinated reaction.

Ex-Florida congressman and onetime US Attorney General hopeful Matt Gaetz has launched a Cameo account, where he is raking in cash by cutting videos for the public.
The far-right pol, accused in a sex scandal, was charging $525+ a pop as of 3 p.m. Sunday and enjoying a five-star rating on the platform, where users can pay for videos from famous celebrities.
“Now listen, I may not be the Attorney General, the most powerful law enforcement officer in the land — for now,” said the GOP former rep in a message on the platform — following in the footsteps of fellow Cameo celeb and lying Long Island ex-Congressman George Santos (R-NY).

President Joe Biden jokingly urged a roomful of Democratic donors and insiders not to jump in the White House pool at a weekend dinner to thank them before he leaves office.
But some attendees still felt all wet after the election.
“Good evening everyone . . . If you have a seat, please take it. Don’t jump in the pool!” Biden said to laughs at the tented black-tie soiree on the White House South Lawn, where the pool and fountain are located.
“[First Lady] Jill [Biden] and I are hosting this dinner tonight for a very simple reason — to say thank you. Thank you to so many dear friends,” he added,

After President-elect Donald Trump won the election, the Biden-Harris State Department is under fire for hosting in-house therapy sessions for employees. A Free Beacon report found that outgoing Secretary of State Antony Blinken spent federal money on at least two sessions, which a source described as a "cry session” for people to deal with Vice President Kamala Harris’ loss. In a letter to Blinken, Republican Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) expressed concern that the State Department was coddling its employees even though their preferred candidate did not win the election.
“I am concerned that the Department is catering to federal employees who are personally devastated

Washington State’s Attorney General Bob Ferguson once joked about the Trump administration’s many legal missteps when making policy during his first term in office, asking his team, “Do you guys think a lawyer looked at this?” As President-elect Donald Trump gears up for another term, Ferguson isn’t laughing anymore, and neither are Democratic officials in blue states, according to a New York Times report.
There is a growing sense of apprehension among Democratic leaders related to their ability to challenge Trump’s policies this time around. Unlike his first administration, where procedural missteps made it easier for Democrats to successfully challenge his order, Trump appears better prepared.

Russian President Vladimir Putin gave a 7-minute speech Thursday and explained that Russia used a new medium-range missile with a hypersonic payload in its strike on Ukraine. It was essentially a test that worked perfectly.
As part of what Putin called a “combat test,” the hypersonic missile, dubbed Hazel, successfully struck a military-industrial facility in the Ukrainian city of Dnipro, the Russian president added.
The strike was a response to Ukrainian attacks on military facilities located on internationally recognized Russian territory, the president stated. Kiev’s forces launched the strikes on Tuesday and Thursday, using US-made ATACMS and HIMARS systems as well as British-made Storm Shadow missiles, he said.

We are fast approaching Thanksgiving, and many Americans, no doubt, are wondering what they have to be thankful for.
There’s the skyrocketing cost of pretty much everything. Rising crime. Endless wars. And perhaps worst of all, this fear that we’re falling apart—that Democrats and Republicans can’t work together, that in the middle of the turkey and stuffing a brawl might break out between the “communists” and “fascists.” (There were no communists or fascists on the ballot this year, the partisan smears notwithstanding.)

It's a common situation where a state has big, politically conservative but sparsely populated rural and small-town areas that are outweighed by state politics by heavily populated, mostly liberal/progressive urban enclaves. California is one such place, and in the 2024 election things seem to have grown even more divided between the coastal urban enclaves and the eastern and northern parts of the state. The same situation holds sway in Colorado, where we lived for many years and where the Denver-Boulder Axis runs roughshod over the much more conservative eastern plains and much of the western slope.

They’ve had enough.
A movement in a myriad of rural counties across deep blue states such as Illinois and California to split off and form new states appears to be gaining some steam in the wake of the Nov. 5 election.
Conservative residents of the rural regions are taking note of their peers fleeing to lower-taxed and less-regulated red states but they are ready to stay put — pining for a divorce with the urban sectors of their state.
A group dubbed the New Illinois State has drafted a new constitution and championed plans to “Leave Illinois Without Moving.”

Now that former congressman Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) is no longer a threat to Democrats, they are on to the next one in President-elect Donald Trump’s cabinet.
On Sunday, Democrat Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) warned viewers on CNN that former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) is “compromised” and is like a “Russian asset.”
Host Dana Bash asked Duckworth, who served with Gabbard in the House, what she thought of the former Democrat, accusing her of promoting Russian propaganda.
“Well, I think she’s compromised,” Duckworth began. “I think by going to Syria and basically um, backing you know, a brutal dictator there. I mean Russian controlled media called her a Russian asset.

As a comedian, I know how to "read the room" as the saying goes, and I am reading nothing less than nationwide calm with a dash of, "What else do the commies have up their sleeves," trepidity.
I suspect the globalists, military-industrial complex, or Jill Biden - whoever is actually running things - aren't going to turn over the keys to the White House without at least one last attempted kick to the goolies of freedom.

A recent Echelon Insights poll shows that voters not only view Republicans more favorably than Democrats but also largely support Donald Trump’s transition. Despite efforts by Democrats and the media to generate controversy, Trump is enjoying significant goodwill, with 53% of registered voters approving of his transition and 40% disapproving. Interestingly, while Trump remains personally unpopular, voters appear to want him to succeed.
The poll wasn't a fluke.

Trump’s electoral victory has advanced the demise of MSNBC and CNN for good reason.
The fall of NBC, ABC, and CBS should follow.
Each of these so-called news outlets has betrayed their viewers for as long as they have been on the air. They consistently misled their viewers day after day to the point that Trump’s victory was a major shock to their systems. Those blinkered viewers sadly believed what those networks told them -- that Trump could not possibly win, that Harris would win in a landslide. They misled their viewers so egregiously that those who only watched those outlets were understandably shocked by Trump’s win.

Pam Bondi, Trump’s nominee for Attorney General now that Matt Gaetz has withdrawn, is an interesting choice. One other worrisome thing is how she handled the George Zimmerman-Trayvon Martin case back in as Florida’s AG twelve years ago. Sundance, at Conservative Treehouse, has written a detailed analysis

During a segment discussing George Santos, Behar brought up the former congressman’s 23 criminal charges, including wire fraud.

The whiplash-inducing, “Hunger Games”-style race to become Donald Trump’s Treasury secretary made it easy for the media to ignore what has been going on with Janet Yellen — and the absolute mess she’s leaving for her successor.
Yellen — who, it was revealed Friday, will be replaced as Treasury secretary in January by hedge fund mogul Scott Bessent — was Joe Biden’s pick to run the office that is essentially the country’s CFO.
Indeed, it could be the most important cabinet position in the White House given the importance of the US economy. Americans put Trump in office largely over his handling of the economy during his first term —

For a host of reasons, it became convenient for progressives to suggest that large numbers were fleeing Florida in search of a better life.
When Florida governor Ron DeSantis was a GOP presidential frontrunner, liberal Democrats dug up every scrap of information suggesting he was an ineffective governor, noting that thousands were fleeing his state as a result of his supposedly poor governance. When Trump became the GOP nominee, the attack on Trump’s adopted home state continued. Hundreds if not thousands of articles were generated implying that Trump’s adopted home state was such a disaster that there was a mass exodus. The reality is just the opposite.

Germany is the largest economy in the E.U. However, due to a confluence of horrible events, most of them self-created as an outcome of ridiculous energy production decisions, the German industrial economy has been contracting since 2022. Into this downward spiral of negative economic events within Germany, now comes the problem of President Trump eager to eliminate the Marshal Plan of one-way tariffs and start dealing with the trade inequities. The German industrial manufacturing companies who make up the majority of the economic output are concerned, very concerned.
