Is Pam Bondi really independent, or will

Pam Bondi, Trump’s nominee for Attorney General now that Matt Gaetz has withdrawn, is an interesting choice. On the one hand, she seems like a conservative attack dog and comes out of Ron DeSantis’s Florida, which argues that she’s solid. On the other hand, a lot of RINOs are awfully pleased that she’s been named, which is always worrisome. One other worrisome thing is how she handled the George Zimmerman-Trayvon Martin case back in as Florida’s AG twelve years ago. Sundance, at Conservative Treehouse, has written a detailed analysis

This is her weak point, IMO. She apparently appointed Angela Corey, the truly despicable, crooked, lying anti-justice special prosecutor against Zimmerman. That is a huge black mark against her. And Sundance claims she is good friends with Ben Crump. Ben Crump is like a more intelligent, educated Jesse Jackson with a deep hatred of white people and a love for racial division which can make him some money. Crump drove the anti-Zimmerman political hit job in the state, and Angela Corey was the official face of the anti-Zimmerman conspiracy. It was nearly a miracle that the massive fraud and PR machine against George Zimmerman was defeated and Zimmerman found innocent. No charges should have ever been laid against him. It was clearly self defense, which is why the police initially just left the case alone after investigation. Bondi associated with this stinks to high heaven.

I think maybe we should just let the Democrats choose Trump's Cabinet! After all, they took down his AG, they're after Pete now and very well will take him down and now even some Republicans are going to help take down Pam Bondi! First of all, Matt is kind of a Weirdo, but he knows where the Bodies are buried, so he had to go as there are Bodies on Both Side that nobody want to come up! Then Poor Pete is going to go down for doing what a whole lot of members of Congress have done, which is have too much to drink and play house with a married woman (by the way, what was she doing with another man while her Hubby was in the same Hotel? Nobody is asking that question)! Then we have to wonder how Bill Clinton can put a Cigar where it was never meant to be, be caught, have all kinds of Press on what he was doing and he STILL was able to be President!! Go figure! Now there are hush, hush goings on about Pam Bondi! Maybe somebody should ask Governor DeSantis how she was as his AG. I live in Florida and I never heard a single negative thing about her time in Office! In fact, I think she was great at her Job! For gosh sakes! Lets not be stupid Republicans AGAIN and let the Dem's ruin Trump's Cabinet picks. Nobody is pure as the Driven Snow in Government!! Lets get this show on the Road. If someone doesn't work out for Trump, guess what, he will FIRE them!

I know many of you will correct me. That's fine. Coming from a family of lawyers and have served as a juror, they always said that you have to make your case and your decision with the evidence presented, nothing else. So, I don't know about Bondi, but I will give her the benefit of the doubt. Remember that the Zimmerman case was more political than anything else.

Keep in mind she is a Presidential pick. If she doesn't perform, Trump can replace her at any time. Same goes with all of his other picks. He's smart enough now that he'll replace anyone that start to oppose him.

The Trayvon case is a fatal flaw. This is beyond poor judgment. It's like a doctor killed the patient, but is now contrite, and to be made head of the hospital. I don't know everything in this case, but there are a lot of questions that have to be overcome.

The details of the murder of Obama's son are clear right now but back when it happened I remember a couple of weeks of doubt and confusion. Bondi made the appointment, she did not accuse anybody of anything. Remember the picture of the sweet looking 12-year-old little Treyvon they released instead of the angry punkass giant that was really Treyvon?

Floridian Sundance followed, researched, and reported daily on the Trayvon Martin case. He supported everything with souces, links to facts. Contrary to the ignorance of one poster,, he is no Jim Hoft. Bondi was neckdeep in the unjust persecution of George Zimmerman. Hand in glove wirth her friends Angela Corey and Ben Crump. Here is another point to consider FTA: ""Thanks to that case, Bondi improved her career by appearing to be a minority champion. Now, she stands on the verge of being AG of the US. Unfortunately for Trump, Sundance contends that she is severely compromised because the DC sewer knows all the case details and will be prepared to control Bondi with this sordid information. This may explain why she is likely to sail through Senate confirmation. One possible way for her to partially redeem herself when she becomes AG is to appoint Matt Gaetz as a prominent DOJ official and turn him loose."

Sundance posted endorsements for Bondi from Trump's lawyer through Mitt, Jeb, Lindsey, Cornyn and others with Deep State ties. At the end of the post: Having spent two-years fighting the lies that Pam Bondi facilitated on behalf of her friend, Benjamin Crump; and knowing that Pam Bondi did appear in court in an attempt to stop the defense attorneys for George Zimmerman from questioning the construction of false witness #8 manufactured by Benjamin Crump; and with full acceptance that Pam Bondi did intentionally, willfully and with specific intent attempt to use the power of her office to assist in the malicious and wrongful prosecution of a transparently innocent man, I shall speak no more about the matter. {CITATION HERE} https://theconservativetreehouse.com/blog/2024/11/23/president-trumps-attorney-john-lauro-speaks-in-support-of-pam-bondi-for-u-s-attorney-general/#more-266616

With all sincere respect to Sundance, at Conservative Treehouse, the Zimmerman/Martin case had more going on than is being discussed today. An example of what might have been is the across America and around the world rioting and burning cities as a result of the George Floyd killing more recently. While the facts of the two cases were essentially opposite, had Florida officials stood by their intent to rule Zimmerman's shooting self-defense, it would have almost certainly triggered BLM type anti-law race riots like the later Floyd affair. But when the decision was bring it to a trial, that trial brought out the evidence, and Zimmerman was found innocent. Floridians of all races could then see that, and the result was what we are seeing now. The recent election is a big first step American race relations - and color does not, or should no, matter politically. Mr. Zimmerman had to endure the trial, but the result was that, as Reply 1 above noted, the massive fraud and PR machine was defeated. A major factor in the perpetration of "a story" instead of "the story" was the "reporting" of the despicable (IMHO) Wikipedia propaganda poo-pit.

This is the silliest article that I have read in a long time! Even by the standards of Conservative Treehouse. Unlike the “Never Trumpers” of NR and the old Weekly Standard, no candidate will ever be “good”enough for some so called”Conservatives “! They would rather have an apparently flawed candidate like Gaetz be voted down by a bipartisan vote. I suppose some “Conservatives “ would rather have Guliani as there candidate!

I heard the defense attorney speak a couple of years after the trial. He was very interesting. What I remember..... #1, he never got paid by Zimmerman, but he said this with a big smile on his face. Free national advertising! #2, the pre-trial negotiations that limited the depth and scope of the questions allowed to be asked to the victim's "girlfriend" helped the victim immeasurably. Can't remember the specifics but she was handled with kid gloves. Attorney made a comment that a lot of "girlfriends" were texting with victim and it was not helpful to victim. As someone wrote, my sense is he agreed it was more political than legal.

First of all, there are so many different sides to this matter that make it a tricky call. I posted on another thread that Trump would be crazy to propose a swamp creature for AG. He is not crazy. Which suggests he knows exactly what he's doing despite misgivings voiced here. And before writing another word, I confess I didn't follow the Zimmerman-Martin case as Sundance and many here did. As I also said on another thread, I find it interesting that concurrent with Sundance's post ("deep state pawn?") Redstate ran a piece on the Left being apoplectic on Bondi as AG. You look around a bit more and you see reports that establishment types are relieved. What is going on? I wonder if this is another example of Trump thinking three moves ahead: has her path to confirmation been assisted because some on the center/center left think she is less a hardcore AG than anyone else Trump might pick?

Sometimes it's just a pigeon knocking over the pieces. Some of his picks SUCK. If a person's first reaction is to go with the PC crowd and do bad things or limit your freedom (even though they MIGHT come around in a couple of years) that is still a person to NOT be trusted.

Unproductive speculation about a case settled decades ago. Do we need to retread the circumstances of the long ago incident of a potentially over zealouse neighborhood watch hispanic and a potentially overly aggressive black football player? Bondi is a smart and qualified prosecutor and I'm delighted with her nomination for AG. Zimmerman was acquitted. Stop participating in the speculation parlor games people. There's work to be done and we have a president-elect that knows more about all circumstances than we do. I'll be browsing right past all this naysaying and wait as patiently as possible for January 20th.

The first is that FEMA, for whatever reason, has not been up to the task after Helen destroyed or damaged approximately 100,000 homes in WNC, impacting more than 200,000 people. People are living in trailers or even tents all these weeks later — and as temperatures drop. Here's the video aerial video that Matt von Swol took last week.

A new memoir by former “World News Now” anchor Kendis Gibson depicts a workplace culture at ABC News fraught with alleged hazing, bullying and racism — which he alleges contributed to a suicide attempt. Gibson’s book, “Five Trips: An Investigative Journey into Mental Health, Psychedelic Healing and Saving a Life,” chronicles his nearly five-year journey experimenting with illegal drugs to combat mental health issues, including depression, panic attacks and suicidal ideation, which he claims was amplified while working at ABC. In 2014, Gibson started his dream job as a correspondent at ABC News — recounting that he received a “heartwarming reception” from the “Good Morning America” bunch:

Torres said Rivera should never have been on the streets, but authorities failed and let him fall through the cracks. Those directly responsible should be fired, he demanded. “I am writing to express alarm at the complicity of the State and the City in the murder of three New Yorkers, who were savagely stabbed to death in a homicidal rampage that took hold in broad daylight,”

Republican Sen. Rand Paul has hit out at the Democratic mayor of Denver for his plans to stop mass deportations of undocumented immigrants under President-elect Donald Trump. Mayor Mike Johnston has said that he plans to keep immigration officials out of the Colorado city, and warned that his planned resistance could compare to the infamous Tiananmen Square protests in China. 'You'd have every one of those Highland moms who came out for the migrants. And you do not want to mess with them.' (snip)Now, if Johnston were to start a similar protest, Paul said he could be removed from office and could even face potential criminal charges.
