What would it look like for you and your family to pay even more than what you’re already paying at the grocery store check-out line? (Grocery prices have increased more than 30% since Joe Biden took office.) What about at the gas pump? Anything you buy online that is then shipped to your home? Now, the cost-of-living crisis is already a debilitating burden for countless Americans, but as bad as it is now, it’s fixing to get a whole lot worse if the forced transition to electric vehicles continues; those mandates and regulations don’t just apply to personal vehicles, but also the 18-wheelers that transport

Comments:

We need to defund the EPA, and erase the last 10 years of EPA regulations, as a start.
This latest horrible Eco-Idea will increase overall inflation about another half to one percent to inflation.
When Trump left office inflation was 1.4%. This stupid, dysfunctional electric truck mandate will nearly double the rate of inflation that Trump had, all by itself. And of course, it isn't all by itself, it's piled on top of dozens of other inflationary bad ideas which are crippling the American consumer.

Drivers sitting for hours waiting for batteries to recharge, we would need twice as many trucks to deliver the same amount of merchandise. What would those electric trucks and their huge batteries add to the damage on the roads? In reality electric trucks--Semi's --is a foolish and stupid idea.

I'm still trying to figure out how having electric tractor trailers will work with all the weight these trucks need to carry. Electric vehicles don't get the mileage they claim they get now. The electric Ford pickup doesn't get half the distance it's supposed to get. How is a huge tractor trailer carrying tons of product supposed to travel any distance before recharging is needed, and how long is the recharging going to take?

What will be to downtime for trucks that are waiting for repairs? Are there enough mechanics throughout the country to service the electric big rigs?

If they push electric trucks, they will have to upgrade the electric grid for the entire country. Otherwise, how will they supply all the remote towns and villages? They never completed the upgrade for cars and now they have to do the same for trucks. Btw, how well do electric trucks perform on dirt roads? I'm thinking of all those remote farms, mines, logging camps, and God knows what else. Anyone remember the old Ice Road Truckers show where they drove to the oil fields in Northern Alaska? How well would electric trucks work in that environment? No wonder operational costs will double. Somebody has to pay for all this. Or maybe they intend to abandon all the remote parts of America. Good luck with that. Always thought the left would have some sense of self-preservation but beginning to have doubts on that.

A couple of thoughts: Electric cars weigh what.... 1,000 lbs. more than similar gas-powered cars, the difference being the increased weight of the battery-and-electric-motor(s) compared to the gas tank, engine and transmission assembly of a gas car. How much do the proposed semi-truck batteries weigh? How much more is the empty weight of an electric truck compared to a Diesel powered truck? Trucks are presently limited to what.... 80,000 lbs. Will the electric trucks be allowed many thousands of pounds of additional weight- with the accompanying increased damage to the US road system..... or will the weight limit remain the same, and the cargo weight capacity of the trucks reduced to stay within the 80,000-lb limit? One of the big car-rental companies bought a bunch of electric cars, then dumped them a while later, citing increased fleet operating cost. I wonder what cost numbers the rental company finally experienced?

It would make transport over the Rockies well nigh impossible. Even a cursory reading of trucking history shows how limited it was until more powerful engines and improved gearing came along.

Fake studies have flooded the publishers of top scientific journals, leading to thousands of retractions and millions of dollars in lost revenue. The biggest hit has come to Wiley, a 217-year-old publisher based in Hoboken, N.J., which Tuesday will announce that it is closing 19 journals, some of which were infected by large-scale research fraud. In the past two years, Wiley has retracted more than 11,300 papers that appeared compromised, according to a spokesperson, and closed four journals. It isn’t alone: At least two other publishers have retracted hundreds of suspect papers each. Several others have pulled smaller clusters of bad papers.

As both a proud Reagan conservative and as an American patriot, I am deeply troubled by our nation slipping from its responsibilities as the leader of the free world. Russia and Hamas both represent terrorist entities. Disengaging from the world stage and thinking it’s “none of our business” is a position that a man lionized by every conservative American like President Ronald Reagan would never embrace. Russia’s horrific crimes against the Ukrainian people are inexcusable and unjustified. I am both embarrassed by the Biden administration’s slow and weak response, and by the so-called Republicans who embrace the same foreign policy views that radical leftist

The Bible calls the Jews “a stiff-necked” people. (“The Lord also said to me, ‘I have seen this people, and they are indeed a stiff-necked people.’” Deuteronomy 9:13.) In other words, they’re stubborn, and nothing has been more stubborn than American Jews’ long-standing refusal to acknowledge the rising antisemitism in the heart of the Democrat party. Donald Trump’s pro-Israel record barely swayed them. However, Biden’s blatant anti-Israel policies, combined with the violent antisemitism in academia, may finally be doing the trick. Traditionally, Jews have been second only to blacks in their fealty to the Democrat party. Many of them came from Tsarist Russia, which was fiercely antisemitic.

This election season, there are many parallels to the election year of 1968 on display, and none of it bodes well for Democrats’ chances in November. It didn’t work out for Democrats back then, certainly, with Republican Richard Nixon handily defeating Hubert Humphrey, and Republicans picking up a net five seats in both the Senate and the House, along with a net gain of five governorships. Here are a few of these observed similarities. Radical leftists are again eating their own The first parallel, which many have already noted, is that the Democratic National Convention (DNC) will be again held in Chicago in August of this year

Senator Sam Ervin said: “A billion here, a billion there, pretty soon you’re talking real money.” Our federal government has been talking trillions for some time now, but the Mummified Meat Puppet Administration’s (MMPA) push for electric vehicles has EV manufacturers talking, and losing, billions. MMPA mouthpieces like Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm assure us EVs are the future and they’re pushing unconstitutional, unrealizable regulations to force that future down our throats. Unfortunately for them, economic reality is intruding, and Ford provides a disturbing example:

Is there a better example of putting the cart before the horse than “green” energy boondoggles of the left? The answer is a resounding no. Force conversions to electric vehicles without putting the proper and sufficient charging infrastructure in place? Check. Manufacture millions (billions?) of solar panels with no disposal plan in place? Check. Build countless offshore wind “farms” without conducting studies to determine the impacts? Check. [snip] Downstream turbulence from offshore wind turbines can reduce power generation at nearby turbines, substantially reducing the total potential from planned U.S. offshore wind projects, according to recent research from the Colorado University Boulder and National Energy Technology Laboratory.

When Alexander the Great invaded Phrygia, in 334 BC, he is said to have encountered the legendary Gordian Knot. It was a tightly knit tangle of rope, so convoluted that none could untie it. The legend has it that whoever could untie the knot would be the rightful ruler, because that man would possess great wisdom. Alexander could have conquered Phrygia by armed might, but he chose instead to attempt to untie the knot. He quickly, however, discerned that he could not do so, and whether in a fit of rage, or perhaps by thoughtful plan

The Alabama Supreme Court has authorized the execution of a death row inmate who previously survived after being given a lethal injection. The convict, Alan Eugene Miller, will now receive execution by nitrogen gas, the Washington Examiner reported. Alabama’s high court authorized the method in a decision Thursday. Republican Gov. Kay Ivey has not set the date for Miller’s execution. Once it’s carried out, Miller will become the second death row inmate to die by nitrogen gas in the state. However, the method has become controversial among liberal death penalty opponents. After being convicted of killing three men during a 1999 workplace shooting, Miller was set to die by lethal injection.

It’s the nation’s largest seafood chain, and it got cooked over various factors, but one consumer deal appears to have been the straw that broke the camel’s back: the “all you can eat” shrimp deal. Hundreds of millions of dollars in debt are set to be restructured, with dozens of locations slated for closure (via WSJ): (X)
