Who should be Donald Trump’s vice presidential running mate? Though no one yet knows who it will be, many people seem to have an opinion about whom it should be. It’s a long list of possible names for the increasingly important vice presidential job, as the latest I&I/TIPP Poll indicates. As part of our monthly national online poll, taken from May 1-3, we asked 538 Republicans, and those who lean that way, two questions about who they preferred as Trump’s vice president. The poll has a margin of error of +/-4.3 percentage points. First we asked a straightforward question: “Who is your top choice for Trump’s vice president?”

No way Nikki Haley is in the running. Vivek reminds me too much of a slimy used car salesman - telling you what you want to hear, not what he really believes. Looking at the number, DeSantis is the best choice. People like what he is doing in FL. If he would just tell the Repubs that were running the party to **** off.

Lots of really bad choices in that poll. Haley? REALLY? Super bad idea. Sara Sanders would be a good choice, in my opinion. Very articulate on the issues, excellent public speaker and may bring some of the women voters, too. Smart lady. Ramswamy? No way. He talks a great game, but has no real history to prove anything, and some Soros taint that hasn't been washed away. DeSantis would be good but is needed in Florida. Carlson? That's just a stupid idea.

The first poll has Not Sure getting the highest percentage, which means most don't know or care. Sarah Huckabee Sanders - current governor and was Press Secretary for Trump Tim Scott - great story and decent guy Doug Burgum - current governor of North Dakota and wealthy business man. A key point will be someone who can articulate the message, not worry about the slings and arrows that will come their way, knowledge of the structure of government so you can get things done, and is able to discern who will be looking to row the boat in the same direction (avoiding those who look to undermine the administration).

I support General Michael Flynn. He's a man's man, like President Trump. And like President Trump he has already been through the machinations of the Deep State's maw...and survived. He's battle tested and has learned the enemy's tactics. He has skin in the game, shall we say. General Flynn is an experienced leader of men in arms, and will not fear to do what needs to be done. We need a vice president that will be able to continue the MAGA agenda for his own two terms as president, so that twelve years of MAGA will redirect the course of our country back to the Constitution in the same way the New Deal turned it away. A woman vice president is just not capable of the doing the job at hand. Our sex was not created for the tasks required in these times, at this level. We need to look beyond this year's ticket. President Trump's VP pick will have to carry MAGA into the future. I believe General Flynn is that man.

The latest New York Times poll looks like an absolute disaster for Joe Biden. But not just because he is far behind Donald Trump in most of the battleground states. What’s really interesting is the fact that these findings are a repudiation of Biden’s entire presidency. The Times poll shows Donald Trump leading Biden by substantial margins in Arizona (up seven points), Georgia (up 10 points), and Nevada (up 12 points). Trump is also up by three points in Pennsylvania and seven in Michigan. The only battleground state where Biden does better is Wisconsin, up by just two points. But notice the difference between Sun Belt states and those in the Midwest.

Google has come in for some well-deserved criticism after its “artificial intelligence” wouldn’t answer a simple question: How many Jews did the Nazis kill? That’s bad enough. But then a not-so-intelligent Google employee compounded the problem with a lie about why it happened. The story goes that Michael Apfel asked a Google “virtual assistant” this question: “Hey Google, how many Jews were killed by the Nazis?” Google’s answer: “Sorry, I don’t understand.” Then he asked: “How many Jews were killed during World War II?”

"They have the money to spend.” — President Joe Biden Those of us who’ve been around a while remember when the press made an epic deal out of President George H.W. Bush’s apparent amazement at an ordinary grocery store checkout scanner. It turns out the story was a complete media fabrication, but it fed the narrative that Bush was hopelessly out of touch, and it helped cost him his reelection. This week, Joe Biden actually did do something that shows he is perhaps the most clueless president in American history. In a softball interview this week, CNN’s Erin Burnett let Biden carry on — uninterrupted — with his usual litany of lies.

President Joe Biden has a tenuous lead over lawfare-challenged former President Donald Trump, but continues to show weakness among key voting groups that he needs to win a second term in office, the latest numbers from the May I&I/TIPP Poll show. The national online I&I/TIPP Poll, taken from May 1-3, included 1,264 responses to a number of questions about the upcoming 2024 presidential election. The poll’s margin of error is +/-2.8 percentage points. Our main question was to ask registered voters about a straight, head-to-head matchup between Biden and Trump. More specifically, voters were asked to choose among Biden, Trump, “not sure” “other” and “prefer not to answer” as possible responses.

California Democrats who pushed through the state’s punitive new minimum wage must be feeling mighty proud about now. Not only are fast-food joints closing or replacing low-end employees with overseas workers and robots, now the law is costing the very people it was supposed to help while decimating consumers’ wallets. Well done! The $20-an-hour wage floor foisted on California’s fast-food restaurants, dubbed with the innocent-sounding moniker Assembly Bill 257, was signed into law last fall. It didn’t take long to become a disaster. Hoover Institution senior fellow and economist Lee Ohanian showed just how quickly bad policies can wreck an economy. We could then stop extracting oil and the natural gas that’s a byproduct of drilling. Right? No, it wouldn’t work that way – because it can’t. Even in a world that ran entirely on renewable energy, it would still be necessary to drill for crude. Why? Because of, as Dustin Hoffman’s character Benjamin Braddock was told 1967’s “The Graduate,” plastics. “There’s a great future in plastics,” Mr. McGuire, a family friend, told Ben at his college graduation party.
