Women face incredible pressure to suppress our conservative inclinations. (snip) Here, the KAConsulting survey provides remarkable insights. Among all women (80 percent of whom did not identify as conservative): 79 percent think a stay-at-home mom is equal in success to women in a professional field; 74 percent think kids should have the opportunity to attend a school of their choice, regardless of zip code; 71 percent oppose transgender surgeries for minors; 68 percent plan to be married with at least one child by the time they’re 30; 64 percent think hook-up culture is harmful to women; and 62 percent oppose men competing in women’s sports.

Women will always be liberal! With them emotion Trump's logic every time. And explaining women's liberalism the author missed the big issue, Abortion. For most women their uterus is more important than any other issue. I should add I'm not referring to the women here on lucianne

I will be 73 this August. I have been a conservative my whole life and have no intentions of changing my beliefs. Sometimes I bend far right and sometimes I tiptoe a bit to the left. I do not let my emotions rule my judgement. (I take it perhaps #1 was jilted by a liberal woman so has decided to paint us all with one brush.) And no, abortion is not in my top 10 issues. While I have a uterus I am happy to report it is nonfunctioning much to my delight. If you still have one and it is functioning I suggest competent BC as your first order of business. My mother always told me that unless you did not have a uterus or your tubes were tied you could get pregnant.

FTA: ...and 62 percent oppose men competing in women’s sports. The other 38% must be the couch potatoes and smart phone zombies. But even they think it's outrageous if a man is paid more than a woman for the same job, or a man with equal or better qualifications is hired instead of a woman.

California reparations bill on licensing

A California reparations bill prioritizing black applicants in state professional licensing is likely unconstitutional and violates the U.S. Constitution’s equal protections clause under the 14th Amendment, says the Pacific Legal Foundation. AB 2862, authored by Assemblymember Mike Gipson, D-Carson, would “require boards to prioritize African American applicants seeking licenses under these provisions, especially applicants who are descended from a person enslaved in the United States.” The bill was introduced in February as a broader package of reparations for Black Californians, a package that did not include direct cash payments. (snip) California requires licenses for a wide variety of professions, ranging from manicurists to doctors.

The commander of a US Navy warship is apparently a not-so-sharpshooter. A commanding officer of the USS John S. McCain, an Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer, was mocked online after he was photographed holding an assault weapon with its scope mounted backward as he took aim at a target known as a “killer tomato.” Cmdr. Cameron Yaste “observes the live-fire exercise event. The ship is in U.S. 7th Fleet conducting routine operations,” read a caption posted by Defense Visual Information Distribution Service alongside an image of him holding up the weapon with the Trijicon VCOG scope installed backward while pointed at a large target balloon.

San Francisco’s Train System is Still

In 1998, San Francisco installed the latest cutting-edge technology to run the train network: floppy disks. A quarter of a century later and the city’s transportation agency is still using the same system. People under the age of 30 might not know what a floppy disk is; an archaic way of storing data (think USB stick). But the workers at San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) sure do as they are still using obsolete tech to automate the movement of light rail vehicles. (snip) The SMFTA uses five-inch floppy disks to automatically control trains inside the subway.

The woman tasked with running the homeownership program for a Detroit nonprofit and helping people avoid losing their homes to foreclosure was named in a federal complaint for her role in stealing dozens of properties. Zina Thomas, 60, of Detroit, was charged in a fraud scheme by the U.S. Attorney's Office, a release from the department said Wednesday. Prior to her arrest, she served as director of Homeownership Programs for the United Community Housing Coalition in Detroit. The nonprofit provides housing assistance to the city's low-income residents. Thomas used her position as director to coordinate with other individuals to steal 30 properties across Wayne County.

It seems the National Organization for Women’s unhinged fanaticism of transgender athletes in women’s sports was even too much for the organization’s social media team. The so-called feminist group deleted a controversial post on X from March 31. It claimed that anyone who objected to biological men who wished to identify as women and compete in sports against real women was “white supremacist patriarchy at work.” (snip) NOW’s post should, undoubtedly, be the metaphorical nail in the coffin for the contemporary hyperbolic hysteria associated with the words “white supremacy” and “patriarchy.”
Climate Change Is Not Causing Inflation 12 replies

A recent study in the journal Nature: Communications Earth and Environment claims climate change is contributing to price inflation. The study’s authors say they found climate change harms economic productivity and food production, leading to higher prices. They examined more than 27,000 monthly consumer price index data points around the globe. I can’t begin to describe all the ways this claim is not just outright false but is misleading in a manner clearly intended to motivate restrictions on fossil fuel production and use, policies which would in fact increase energy prices, harm food production, and result in lost jobs, higher prices, and lower incomes.

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors is considering a remarkable policy that would allow people to sue grocery stores that close too quickly. Earlier this week, Supervisors Dean Preston and Aaron Peskin introduced an ordinance that, if passed, would require grocery stores to provide six months' written notice to the city before closing down. Supermarket operators would also have to make "good faith" efforts to ensure the continued availability of groceries at their shuttered location, either through finding a successor store, helping residents form a grocery co-op, or any other plan they might work out by meeting with city and neighborhood residents.

An environmentalist nonprofit that seeks to cut carbon emissions and promote clean energy is suing to stop the Biden administration from funding a zero-emission power plant. The Department of Energy (DOE) announced in January that it had approved a $1.1 billion credit payment to the Diablo Canyon Power Plant, a nuclear facility on the central California coast, to provide the plant with a path to avoid its planned shutdown in 2025. Though nuclear power plants produce negligible carbon emissions, Friends of the Earth (FOE), a group seeking to reduce carbon emissions, filed a lawsuit Tuesday seeking to block the DOE’s funding,

We want to be a welcoming city” but doing that without federal help “requires shared sacrifice, it requires compromise. So, we are both making cuts to city budgets to meet this financial need, and we are making cuts to the amount of services we can provide to the migrants that arrive and to the number of folks that we can serve.”
