UConn dominates Purdue to make March Madness
history as repeat champion

Not even a No. 1 seed — and a 7-footer to defend Donovan Clingan — could prevent Connecticut from repeating as national champions. And with their 75-60 win Monday night in Phoenix against Zach Edey and Purdue, the Huskies became the first program since Billy Donovan’s Florida teams in 2006 and 2007 to win consecutive titles. It wasn’t close by the end of the second half, either. The Huskies took a 15-point lead — expanding the six-point advantage they’d build by halftime — with seven minutes remaining, using a balanced offense, led by Tristen Newton and Stephon Castle, to take control of the game.

Comments:

Boring game. I thought Purdue would put up more of a fight.

Basketball is a sport where every 5 seconds 10 jocks jump straight up into the air. I developed an intense hatred for it in high school where we were forced to play basketball for Physical Education. All I can remember was that I was praying for half court.

Please make it stop. March madness has extended half-way into April and the parallel hype with black history and trans-illness is monopolizing the airwaves.

I loved playing basketball in all of my school years especially highschool gym. Loved watching my middle and high school teams both boys and girls play while hanging out with my friends. Loved watching WVU play UVA or VTech college and loveed watching March Madness. Loved watching the NBA since the 70s where Dr J was doing MIchael Jordan moves long before MJ came and crushed it in the 90s. Loved Larry Bird shooting from anywhere on the floor and Magic Johnson throwing the no look behind the back pass to James Worthy in transistion. I even loved watching the first 5 years of the WNBA before that league went nuts. Now however the college championship game with UCONN and Purdue just put me to sleep. The ladies game this past weekend was more entertaining and I'm just glad that it's over.

Great win. Great team. Veryphysical game. The refsdid notblowtheir whistles. That really affects a team that shoots outside shots. Arrogant coach. No way this even gets close to UCLA in the old days. NIL and the portal has made College hoopsthe minor leagues for the NBA

The college basketball season is going to get longer because power conferences seek to expand the NCAA Tournament field. That means lower echelon Big Ten and Southeast Conference teams will dilute the tournament.

Have you noticed lately that we can't rely on the past to guide us through this election? Changes are definitely happening. For one thing, we appear to be in the process of a major racial realignment, in which black and Latino voters are shifting to the Republican Party. Joe Biden's 2020 advantage among black voters has declined by over 20% in various polls. We're also seeing younger people undergoing the same shift. Things have changed so dramatically that it's likely to affect how Democrats campaign. We're already seeing it happen. Last week, we learned that an influential data scientist had warned major Democratic donors in a confidential memo

It's hard to believe that the Democrats seem to have decided to go all in with Joe Biden at this point when even the simplest ceremonial exercise is fraught with potential for exposing his issues. I think there's a reason his schedule tends to be very light. We reported earlier on the Univision interview that he gave where he needed a cheat sheet. How bad is it? It isn't just with interview questions where he needs a cheat sheet; it's even with the most perfunctory remarks in recognizing the Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida during their brief photo-op sit-down for reporters.

We truly live in the most absurd timeline, and that was proven again on Tuesday after MSNBC interviewed Michael Avenatti from prison to garner his "legal analysis" on Donald Trump. Once touted as a possible presidential candidate by liberal news networks due to his rabid criticism of the former president, Avenatti is currently in the clink due to multiple convictions spanning everything from extortion to embezzlement. You would think that would make him persona non grata among journalistic outlets, but you'd be mistaken. Thus, Ari Melber interviewed Avenatti, a convicted felon who is sitting in prison, as if he were a credible legal authority. You know what? Why not?

No, that headline is not satire. It sounds like it, but it's not. That's just how unhinged the radical left has become. Nothing can happen in this world without the left finding a way to play the victim card — and not even rare solar eclipses are exempt. According to a report from Adam Mahoney at Capital B News, preparations for the rare celestial event "disrupted life for many Black folks living in the state’s largest metro areas of Austin, Dallas, and Houston." I guess the message here is that white people in the path of totality weren't also disrupted by preparations for the event.

Remember when Rep. Hank Johnson (D-Ga.) said he was worried about Guam tipping over? Speaking about a potential military buildup on the Pacific island in 2010, Johnson said, "My fear is that the whole island will become so overly populated that it will tip over and capsize." It's taken nearly 15 years for us to see a dumber comment than that from a Democrat congressman—and trust me, there have been a LOT of contenders. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas), formerly on the House Space, Science, and Technology Committee, speaking to supporters ahead of Monday's solar eclipse, waxed poetic idiotic about the moon. In the quotidian cascade of flabbergasting, uni-party-created crises (illegal immigrants replacing Americans, sky-rocketing crime, the mysterious "Disease X," and that "racist" eclipse) it is easy to see the invisible force driving the Marxists into Level-5, Manic Panic mode; fear. Particularly, fear of Donald Trump — or, as we should call it, Trumpphobia. FACT-O-RAMA! When I say something traitorous like, "Dudes shouldn't compete with women, much less shower with them afterward," I am deemed "transphobic." Once Mitt Romney's niece, who presided over a six-year losing streak for her party, finally left, the new co-chairs — Michael Whatley and Lara Trump — wasted no time displaying their competence. They quickly set solid priorities and set up the necessary infrastructure to implement them. RNC co-chairs Michael Whatley and Lara Trump appeared on Maria Bartiromo's "Sunday Morning Futures" over the weekend, where they elaborated on the steps they're taking to get the country back on track by securing victory in November. The host kicked off the interview by congratulating the duo on Donald Trump's historic fundraiser,

Civil rights groups are calling for the collapsed Baltimore bridge to be renamed when it's rebuilt, citing accusations of racism against national anthem author Francis Scott Key. The Caucus of African American Leaders of Anne Arundel County in Maryland voted unanimously to call for the renaming and will lobby governor Wes Moore on the proposal, as reported by the Baltimore Banner. The caucus includes civil rights groups such as the NAACP and the National Coalition of 100 Black Women. Leaders argued that the The Star-Spangled Banner author -who the collapsed bridge was named after - was a slave owner who wrote lyrics that scholars have said 'demeaned black people.'

Berliner, who admittedly leans left, wrote a scathing article about NPR’s illiberal newsroom, slamming the taxpayer-funded network for refusing to address “a diversity problem” within the office. In an article published in the Free Press, Berliner said he opposed many of the left-wing and perhaps false narratives NPR spun about the coronavirus “lab leak theory,” Rep.
