Passengers on board the Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 Max 9 that suffered a terrifying midair blowout in January have received a letter from the FBI saying they may be victims “of a crime.” Attorney Mark Lindquist, who represents multiple passengers that were on Alaska Airlines flight 1282, shared with CNN the letter that the FBI office in Seattle sent to passengers on Tuesday. “I’m contacting you because we have identified you as a possible victim of a crime,” the letter reads in part. It also notes that the FBI is currently investigating the case.

“My clients and I welcome the DOJ investigation,” Lindquist told CNN, “We want accountability. We want answers. We want safer Boeing planes. And a DOJ investigation helps advance our goals.” The lawyers want M-O-N-E--Y.

Fox News host and former Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) took a swing at House GOP members Friday for ousting former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) in fall 2023. “You and I would not be talking about [House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.)], had it not been for [Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.)] and seven of his comrades, who decided to pursue fame and get rid of Kevin McCarthy,” Gowdy told Fox News’ Rich Edison on “Special Report,” in a clip highlighted by Mediaite. “What have they gotten, as a result of that? How has the House been improved?” Gowdy continued. As the House prepares to go on recess, members could be talking about

As turmoil continues within the House Republican caucus, former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) appeared on Fox News Channel’s “Jesse Watters Primetime” and weighed in on that turmoil and the decisions his successor, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), is facing. According to the former California lawmaker, the beginning of the end for Republicans came when Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) led his ouster last year. “Kevin what is going on with the spending and what just happened with Johnson?” host Jesse Watters asked. “I don’t know what they’re doing spending now, but when I became Speaker, I instituted a 72-hour rule that got not just the members the opportunity to read the

WASHINGTON — The Senate voted 74-24 early Saturday morning to pass a sweeping $1.2 trillion government funding bill after heated last-minute negotiations caused senators to breach the midnight deadline to avert a shutdown. But the funding lapse was brief and technical, having no meaningful impact as the White House said it has "ceased shutdown preparations" due to a Senate agreement, which came after Republicans demanded votes on a series of amendments. The legislation, which passed the House on Friday morning by a vote of 268-134, now goes to President Joe Biden, who has said he'll sign it into law. It completes a turbulent government funding process during the divided government,

The roof of the bus was crumpled, and much of another vehicle nearby was pulverized. Personal items were strewn across the road. Four people in critical condition were airlifted from the crash site. Six others with potentially serious injuries were transported by ambulance,

It's 3 pm Central as I'm writing this, so there could well be more updates before posting time. But what we know so far is that, a few hours ago, gunmen entered one of the largest concert halls in a suburb known as Moscow Oblast and opened fire on the crowd within. There were also explosions reported. The concert hall is connected to a large shopping mall. That was seen erupting into flames as panicked shoppers and concertgoers escaped, and drivers on the roadway next to it videoed the scene. At last count there were over 40 (now reporting up to as many as 60) dead and at least 100 injured,

Former President Barack Obama privately met with President Biden on at least two occasions and expressed concern that he could lose the 2024 election, according to a report. A new report from TIME Magazine claimed that Obama met with Biden last June to deliver a warning about his re-election chances. Obama allegedly advised Biden to become more aggressive and make the upcoming presidential race a referendum on Trump. During a private lunch, Obama told Biden his campaign was unstable, persuading unhappy voters would be a challenge and defeating Trump would be more difficult than 2020, according to a Democrat briefed on the discussion. With incidents dating back to the late 1990s, high-ranking officials, including assistant chiefs and deputies, have been implicated in various forms of misconduct including fraud, forgery, obstruction of justice, and others. A new Blaze Media investigation highlights some of the shadier aspects of the USCP, detailing a culture in which misconduct not only goes unpunished, but is often rewarded. “Corruption is endemic at the highest levels of the United States Capitol Police,” the report reads. Donald Trump was right. It's going to be a bloodbath when China's BYD starts selling its "fun-to-drive" Seagull EV in this country at a price not even Tesla can match. The five-door hatchback doesn't have the best range or fanciest amenities. But what it does have is a top price under $14,000, good safety features, aggressive looks, and plenty of financial backing from Beijing. BYD's specialties are batteries and high-tech manufacturing, and they're using both to aggressively expand overseas production and deliveries. An improved version for South American markets, called the Dolphin Mini, is already on sale, starting at $21,990.

The UN Security Council has rejected a US-sponsored resolution calling for an "immediate and sustained ceasefire" in Gaza. It comes after permanent members Russia and China chose to veto a motion tabled on Friday. Israel has been coming under increasing pressure to allow more humanitarian aid to reach over two million Palestinians - and better protect civilians. The draft had undergone "many rounds of consultations" with members of the 15-seat council, and marked a toughening of America's stance towards Israel. Linda Thomas-Greenfield, the US ambassador to the UN, said the resolution's failure was "really outrageous and below the dignity of the UN Security Council".
