As turmoil continues within the House Republican caucus, former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) appeared on Fox News Channel’s “Jesse Watters Primetime” and weighed in on that turmoil and the decisions his successor, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), is facing.
According to the former California lawmaker, the beginning of the end for Republicans came when Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) led his ouster last year.
“Kevin what is going on with the spending and what just happened with Johnson?” host Jesse Watters asked. “I don’t know what they’re doing spending now, but when I became Speaker, I instituted a 72-hour rule that got not just the members the opportunity to read the

I never had any positive thoughts about gates for his actions. Playing power politics to the advantage of your enemy is fruitless, and teaming with the enemy is beneath contempt.
Nobody benefited on our side and fractures were created that mutual benefit could have healed had there been any.

Very rich coming from a guy who acted like an 8 year old who took his ball and went home when he lost. I see no difference between Pelosi and either McCarthy or Johnson. Kudos to Gaetz for pulling back the curtain.

Hey, McCarthy, no one likes an I told you so! I don’t think you would have done anything better. The problem is with Mike Johnson. He made promises and he reneged.

"Majority", Kevin? A "majority of what besides you and your RINO colleagues saying one thing to get elected and then doing another stabbing us in the back thing when you're in, Kevin?.
Kabuki theatre time is over for you corrupt, phony frauds, Kevin.
So take your sorrowful loss of a "Majority" and stick it where the sin don't shine. Kevin.
We now understand the depths of the problem. Can we still "vote our way out of this"?

Gaetz owed you nothing but a kick in the pants, McCarthy, after you did nothing to support him from ethics and bogus FBI charges.

And what do they do when they have the majority? They fold. They give the communists everything they want while stomping and yelling for the cameras.
Spineless cowards every one of them. They would rather have lots of traitors than a few patriots.

Under McCarthy, the majority was twisted to help the DC Deep State Criminal Cabal. Perhaps a bit less of that now.

Gaetz and the other grandstanding idiots have forced the speaker to get Democrat votes to get anything passed. If they had voted to support the majority of Republicans these bills would not have all the Democrat pork in them. By making it impossible to get a Republican majority, they hand control to the Democrats.
Blaming the speaker for what they have caused is deplorable hypocrisy.

The Republican’ts have achieved exactly what? Hunter walks free! We are spending trillions that we don’t have! Biden isn’t being impeached? Typical! Kiss the house goodbye and we are about to go full Commie with the RATS in charge! But at least Rona can talk for conservatives on NBC! Sweet! Nice job people!

You said you were going to focus on your family or something, so shut up and go away, Kev. We don't need you chiming in. You ARE part of the problem, so don't act like we don't know.

When it looked like the Republicans were going to take over the House of Representatives, they got together and made promises and plans among themselves to do business DIFFERENT from usual-- they wanted to separate major spending bills for cosideration INSTEAD of "omnibus" or "continuing resolution" kinds of appropriations and give time for those bills to have TIME to actually READ them. This clearly did not happen.
This is why McCarthy tried to welsh on binding agreement they had made, and why it took so many votes to approve him as Speaker when he was back tracking. The showboat Gaetz thought he could make things PURE by outsing McCarthy. Then the circus to replace him with a person like Johnson, who on the surface appeared to be a real "dark horse" who they could get behind.
It appears that all Speaker Johnson has done it the same old song and dance called "kick the can down the road" and "let's piddle around until there is NO TIME for the public to MAKE them stop adding useless PORK to a bill that NO ONE READ until it was too late to oppose it-- so much for integrity, fidelity, representing the taxpayer, and TRANSPARENCY.
Now Buck and Gallager want to throw crap in the punchbowl. Representative Chip Roy makes appeals to DO SOMETHING ABOUT the invasion at the border, but nothing is done but to support for continuing to VIOLATE the immigration law which the Vegetable dictator did on his first day in office--
We literally have a true INVASION in the El Paso sector, and who much longer can we last with little to no OUTRAGE from the public who are already stretched to the breaking point??? The middle class is getting smaller, and senior citizens are about to be make peniless going through their savings. Meanwhile, these 'newcomer" ILLEGALS are getting things they never paid for out of the money taxpayers have paid FOR FREE.
