The ex-Democrat catching Trump's and Robert

Tulsi Gabbard wanted to be president. Now she wants to be vice president. And while that’s hardly unusual, the paths — plural — she’s considering to get there are. Neither involve the Democratic Party, which Gabbard used to represent until she left it in 2022. The four-term former member of Congress from Hawaii is now getting consideration for both former President Donald Trump’s and independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s tickets, two sources familiar with the candidates’ deliberations told NBC News. It’s a remarkable turnaround for the onetime progressive rising star,

Both Kennedy and Gabbard are good talkers, and they should have a place at the table of ideas. Maybe they’ll take with them a few democrats that are getting tired of the lockstep dance of the dems. MSM tries to make them invisible, but maybe these two can make Dems think and ditch the destructive democrat Old Guard. I’m not voting for them, but I’ll support their right to be part of the election discussion.

Her job is "politician" and like all politicians her motivation is to stay employed as long as possible. She'll say whatever she needs to say to keep her job. Once in a position of real power, we see the real Tulsi Gabbard but by then it would be too late. Trump's VP choice should be setting up the election of the next President in 2028. It should be someone with a long track record of supporting the Constitution and fiscal responsibility for the future, not someone simply to garner a few more votes this year. He doesn't need that.

she's not my first choice either, but commenters should be reminded that Reagan was also a Democrat at one time--and by the standards of the day he was a left-wing Democrat (although I don't think he ever held office as a Democrat). So it is possible to become a conservative after having been on the left.

Tulsi would be a good choice for RFK Jr. as opposed to that rich "Sugar Momma" from Cali who is rumored to be the choice. I still think Trump would be wise to choose Krisi Noem. It will not be a Floridian due to the constitutional amendment (11 or 12) that makes it difficult for electors to choose a Pres and VP from the same state. Florida electors could not vote for Trump and a Florida resident VP.

I don’t believe that any woman - no matter how strong - and very few men, would meet the requirements of the times we’re living in and facing in the future. Lt. General Mike Flynn has been my choice and hope from the beginning. I love Kari Lake, and there are a number of strong women who are very much needed in various important positions, but VP is not one of them, imo. These times call for strong, experienced male leadership from a man whose metal has been tested & proven capable of taking command, in order to continue the restoration of this Constitutional Republic after President Trump’s four years. I believe Mike Flynn is that man. I also believe the Left knows his worth too. That’s why they immediately went after him to prevent him from holding any power within the government to help Trump when he was POTUS. I believe that’s the only kind of strength that will command the type of respect needed from the current world leaders.

If she would work hard for the Republican party during this upcoming election, particularly pointing out how today's Democrat party aligns into the Progressive wing which skews toward very rich, mostly white and leans towards authoritarian policies using "experts" to fool people into thinking they know better. Mention, much like Reagan, the party kept moving to the left, and how today's Democrat party would reject JFK if he were running for office today. Then, a likely Cabinet position would be possible.

Re: #4 - you might want to re-think your algorithm, as Trump was 63 when he left the democrats, switching back to the GOP, 38 years beyond your cut-off age. I believe Gabbard, of mixed European and Samoan stock, would be an upgrade over Pence, the guy who Trump diehards claim was "pushed" on Trump by some 'fill-in-the-blank' RINO. If Trump chooses Gabbard of his own volition, how can so many who otherwise profess their undying loyalty and support disagree? Gabbard was first elected to the House in 2012, a scant three years after Trump switched back to the GOP from being a registered democrat himself. Gabbard enlisted in Hawaii's Army National Guard and later, after graduating OSC, became a Hawaii National Guard officer, serving as a Military Police officer. She switched to the Army Reserve and was last promoted to Lt. Col. in 2021. If she's on the ticket or if Trump chooses someone else, I'll vote for them, as the best alternative, even if not exactly my "dream ticket."

With news about the White House's collusion with prosecutors in the slew of trials thrown at President Trump as he campaigns for re-election, it's natural to think that Joe Biden and his mentor, Barack Obama, are mainly interested in knocking him out of the race before anyone can get a chance to vote for him. Obama, after all, got his start in politics by doing just that. No one can say that Obama doesn't know the Chicago Way. But while this activity is natural for Obama, Joe Biden looks more like a sitting duck, an unwitting boob, a goose, slowly being fattened for the Christmas dinner.

Back in December, a lower court issued a stay blocking the law, but the Supreme Court overruled that decision.
