According to a recent Reuters report, Elon Musk signed a $1.8 billion contract in 2021 with the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) to launch a system of orbiting surveillance satellites. According to the report, “if successful, the sources said the program would significantly advance the ability of the U.S. government and military to quickly spot potential targets almost anywhere on the globe.”
Remind me again exactly when Elon Musk bought the Twitter platform.
WASHINGTON, March 16 (Reuters) – SpaceX is building a network of hundreds of spy satellites under a classified contract with a U.S. intelligence agency,

Well...what did you expect?
Every single piece of technology will be used against you,the citizen.
Those in power are not going to give up that power willingly.
We can cheer for this candidate or that one.
What we won't be doing is voting our way out of this "new world order"...

I've never heard of the NRO.
From NRO.gov:
ABOVE AND BEYOND
The National Reconnaissance Office makes the world a better, safer, stronger place and ensures America remains the undisputed leader in space.
From Wikipedia:
-member of the United States Intelligence Community
-agency of the United States Department of Defense
-designs, builds, launches, and operates the reconnaissance satellites of the U.S. federal government
-provides satellite intelligence to several government agencies
-is considered, along with CIA, NSA, Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), and National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), to be one of the "big five" U.S. intelligence agencies
-headquartered in Chantilly, Virginia
-founded in 1961
-revealed publicly in 1992
-hybrid organization consisting of some 3,000 personnel
-by far the largest budget of any intelligence agency
-no federal workforce, mostly contractors
Still don't trust Elon Musk.

No big deal, they've been up there for at least fifty years. Musk's may be a little better quality.

Interesting quandary for our enemies. Elon Musk is spewing thousands of satellites over the whole globe and the problem is determining which ones are spies.

They want to be able to spy on ALL OF US, ALL the time. And we are stupid enough to carry around an all purpose location tracker, and evesdropping device almost all the time. They CAN turn on your phone microphone remotely and listen, and perhaps the camera, too, without you knowing. And they can track you now and in the past by your phone. And even an "off" phone, isn't really off in many cases, and note that phones no longer can have the battery removed.....can't ACTUALLY power them down.
And they convince people that they MUST have their phone at all times...their government spying and tracking device. Paid for by YOU.

Starshield is the military's exploitation of Musk’s wild success with Starlink. It's not needed for the American surveillance state. The mechanism for that is what you are looking at right now, and probably holding in your hand. The ping knows where you are and the time where you are. Turn it off, leave it behind AI assisted correlation can deduce your activities based on your past activities and surrounding 3rd party activity. Go completely off the grid? Live on the street? The people around you didn't, don't. It's not just federal, or for that matter, government. It can be any entity with funding and access.
See Bryon Tau's "Means of Control: How the Hidden Alliance of Tech and Government Is Creating a New American Surveillance State" (Feb 2024) or its excerpt in the March 9 Wall Street Journal.
