Israel boycotted Gaza ceasefire talks in Cairo on Sunday after Hamas rejected its demand for a complete list naming hostages that are still alive, an Israeli newspaper reported. A Hamas delegation arrived in Cairo for the talks, billed as a possible final hurdle before an agreement that would halt the fighting for six weeks. But by early evening there was no sign of the Israelis. 'There is no Israeli delegation in Cairo,' Ynet, the online version of Israel's Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, quoted Israeli officials as saying. 'Hamas refuses to provide clear answers and therefore there is no reason to dispatch the Israeli delegation.'

Sacrificing 100 hostages is a lesser evil than risking the destruction of Israel itself.

Had Israel kept the power and water tuned off from the beginning and not let aid trucks in, the war would have been over long ago with the Palestinians kicking out Hamas. You don't win a war supporting the enemies people and letting Hamas dole out sustenance to the people.

i think israel is doing right. If the hostages are alive, Hamas would benefit by proving it. Uncertainty only helps Hamas if Hamas has something to hide. Maybe they are all dead. Maybe Hamas has committed another atrocity. Maybe Sinwar actually has no hostage shield anymore.

Hamas has probably "loaned out" some of the Israeli hostages ... especially IDF members ... to their "allies" in Iran and they aren't really available for any exchange. Plus Hamas will want 865 hostages for every one they release. Here's the deal. You turn over all the hostages and we'll think about letting you live.

America's $34 trillion debt will disrupt the global economy as early as next year if the next president pursues expensive policies, a finance expert has warned. Wharton Business School Professor Joao Gomes has said the public debt mountain marks a 'moment in history' - and it could 'derail the next administration'. 'Toward the latter part of the decade we will have to deal with this,' he told Fortune. 'It could derail the next administration, frankly. 'If they come up with plans for large tax cuts or another big fiscal stimulus, the markets could rebel, interest rates could just spike right there and we would have a crisis in 2025.

If you had told the average person that an anarchist or an airman had set himself on fire to protest Israel’s campaign against Islamic terrorists, you would get two very different reactions. Unsurprisingly the media led with the data point most likely to produce a favorable reaction. And Aaron Bushnell cynically played the same game, wearing (the wrong) uniform to his Hamas suicide attempt rather than the Antifa red in which he had been previously photographed. The Washington Post gets around to admitting that Bushnell was an “anarchist”. [SNIP] But the Washington Post then misleadingly suggests he was raised in a Christian cult.

Indeed, defense attorney Harry MacDougald cited six examples of actual conflicts of interest, any one of which is sufficient to disqualify Willis and her office. Yet it’s unlikely that it will happen.
