OUTRAGE: Treasury Dept. Admits to Using
Political Search Terms to Surveil Citizens'
Bank Transactions

On Friday, the U.S. Department of the Treasury confirmed, in a letter to Senator Tim Scott (R-SC), that the Treasury has been using political watchwords in searches during surveillance of the financial transactions of American citizens. Senator Scott is the ranking Republican on the Senate Banking Committee. The Biden administration has confirmed that terms like "MAGA," "Trump" and "Kamala" were included in the push by federal investigators for banks to surveil private financial transactions following the Jan. 6, 2021 protests at the U.S. Capitol, /snip/ "Exchange events" convened by its Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, or FinCEN, "began shortly after January 6 under the prior Administration,"

Comments:

Treasury says the surveillance began "shortly after January 6 under the prior administration,"
Really.
For the remaining 2 weeks of his administration, DJT was surveilling peoples' transactions with his name or MAGA in them? Tell me another.

Years ago my Citi credit card was refused when I bought ammunition. The store had a sign advising patrons that Citi was refusing charges. I made the purchase using another card and vowed to punish Citi for their policies. I now make one purchase a month for less than $5 just to have them mail a statement. I then pay the balance by bank draft at no cost to myself. One more way to punish the idiots who think they know better.

What information does my bank have on ANY of my transactions other than the place of purchase and a monetary number? Do they KNOW the $20 item I ordered on amazon was a MAGA T-shirt? And the gov't is ALLOWED to cast a wide net to see if I or anyone else did buy such merch?

But now, it turns out that one of the people involved, who was believed to have fled New York City, has just been arrested again in the city. He didn't look too happy, as the authorities marched him down the street. Nineteen-year-old Darwin Andres Gomez-Izquiel was arrested again, as part of a group of four people who allegedly stole about $600 in clothing from a Macy's in a Queens mall. They struggled with a security employee, who tried to stop them and punched him. The employee suffered some injuries. Gomez-Izquiel has been charged with robbery and petit larceny.

Authorities on Friday nabbed a 15-year-old migrant suspected of shooting a tourist and firing at cops in Times Square, law enforcement sources said. The US Marshals Fugitive Recovery Task Force took the Venezuelan teen into custody in Yonkers at around 3:30 p.m., according to the sources. It came just moments after NYPD Chief of Patrol John Chell identified Jesus Alejandro Rivas-Figueroa as the “armed and dangerous” person of interest in connection with the chaotic incident at the Crossroads of the World Thursday night. He arrived in New York from Venezuela in September and has been staying at a temporary shelter at the Stratford Hotel on West 70th Street, Chell said.

Welcome to 2024, where the same man who was just absolved of criminal responsibility for the willful retention and mishandling of classified documents, largely due to his being elderly and having a faulty memory, is nevertheless held up by his fellow Democrats as being fit for reelection as commander in chief and de facto leader of the free world. I've heard of damning with faint praise before, but Special Counsel Robert Hur's report is next level. Of course they aren't recommending criminal prosecution of Old Joe. That was pretty much a given.

Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, after suffering a humiliating loss in the Nevada primaries, complained that former President Donald Trump “rigged” the race to prevent her from making a decent showing. Haley’s comments come weeks before the much-anticipated South Carolina primaries. Given that this is her home state, it will be a critical race that could decide the future of her candidacy. During an interview, a reporter asked if her loss in Nevada would hurt her campaign. Haley responded, claiming that the race was a “scam” and explained why her campaign did not direct any spending in the state.

Nikki Haley hasn't been faring well in the GOP primaries thus far (to put it mildly). But she appeared to have a foolproof plan for Nevada. While everyone else who bothered to run is competing in the caucus tomorrow, Haley was the only prominent candidate to enter their name in yesterday's primary. As it turns out, that plan didn't work out very well either. Haley managed to lose by a significant margin to "None of these candidates." The "none of the above" option drew more than 60% of the vote in a race with very sparse turnout. (NY Post). President Biden emerged victorious in Nevada’s Democratic primary Tuesday,

Did you know that kids across America are enjoying this year's Black Lives Matter "Week of Action?" This is thanks to the endorsement of the National Education Association, the largest teachers' union. It has partnered up with BLM (they still exist?) to engage students in anti-White, anti-Jewish, and anti-Western activities designed to prepare children to become good citizens in the coming de-colonialized America. There is absolutely nothing good to recommend about the BLM Week of Action, but this year, a new and particularly vile twist has been added to the mix: a call to martyrdom.

Americans will soon be subjected to facial recognition screening in airports as a new program that is quietly rolling out the technology to 400 locations across the US. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is 'in the beginning stages of integrating automated facial recognition capability' to current systems that scan flyers' credentials but won't be fully operational until 2030 or 2040. The upgrade, which claims to capture 'minimum data' will match the traveler's face to their identification document, flight status and vetting status - and the facial recognition system is already used at 25 airports.

Does America’s 2024 election come down to a choice between two different shades of your crazy uncle, one semi-senile, the other vulgar and erratic? A decade ago, when Donald Trump launched his presidential bid, there was a real clash of visions for the US at stake. “Make America great again” (Maga) heralded the end of globalisation and the return of tariffs, hard borders and nationalism: the stuff of the Dark Ages, as far as establishments on both sides of the Atlantic were concerned. Today, the Trumpian critique of neo-liberal globalisation is echoed by Financial Times columnists – and enacted into policy by the Democrats.
