McConnell’s Leadership in Jeopardy After
Sending Lankford on a ‘Suicide Mission’

When Senate negotiators unveiled their 370 page supplemental funding bill Sunday night, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer planned to schedule a vote on the legislation Wednesday. How things have changed in less than 72 hours. The bipartisan-negotiated supplemental is dead. It’s dead not because of Senator James Lankford, the head Republican negotiator, but because of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. With the Senate now set to consider a stand-alone supplemental for Ukraine, a country whose border security McConnell values more than his own, one can’t help but wonder if this is what McConnell wanted all along.

Dims were willing to 'negotiate' believing they, the majority, held an unassailable upper hand and knowing the long history of the 'go along' GOP. But everyone failed to remember that the GOP doesn't have to do anything at all by virtue of controlling the House - even if by an ultra-slim margin. Yet another falsely-named piece of legislation that legalizes the illegal and adds more to our debt and inflation. Pray the House holds.

And now we see why our beloved once great constitutional republic, our country, is today circling the toilet. A disgrace and a travesty. Where do we turn and what do we do now? We have a government beholden to God knows how many foreign powers and enemies. We have a government run by the most despicable creatures; an incompetent, incontinent, thoroughly corrupt president and a thoroughly corrupt so-called opposition party leader, with a bunch of lemming senators who would vote lock step to have him remain in power, even after this train wreck. We have a country where half of the people are constantly castigated as insurrectionists, harassed and threatened with an out of control weaponized massive federal law enforcement apparatus, and the other half more interested in the antics of Taylor Swift and her knee taking boyfriend. Benjamin Franklin's quote "A republic, if you can keep it." looms large as every day our constitutional republic gets closer and closer to dissolution.

McConnell is a backstabbing snake of a Republican who should never be trusted. I am waiting to see if Trump is removed from the ballot. If so, I will probably start voting out every incumbent from now on. Our elections would be meaningless, and our government made them meaningless. No doubt, McConnell had a part in that. Senator Josh Hawley, R-Mo., said that Attorney General Merrick Garland is at a crossroads after Justice Department Special Counsel Robert Hur declined to charge President Joe Biden for mishandling classified documents because of his mental state. Hur’s report, which was made public on Thursday, found that after a months-long investigation, Biden "willfully retained and disclosed classified materials," but he concluded that no criminal charges were warranted, because based on "direct interactions with and observations of" the president, Hur and his team said "[i]t would be difficult to convince a jury that they should convict him

You know, I think they are. I've even made a handshake bet that they will. But I'll confess to questioning my end of that wager more than ever, after the events of Thursday afternoon and evening. Even before the Special Counsel report arrived, the president had been spending the week mistaking European political leaders for their deceased predecessors. Then the report detonated. It announced that the DOJ would not pursue charges against Joe Biden over his unlawful conduct, despite evidence that he "willfully retained and disclosed classified materials after his vice presidency," including items that were marked highly classified.

Democrats are growing increasingly worried about the state of President Biden's mental acuity after the release of the special counsel report stemming from his handling of classified documents. Special Counsel Robert Hur released the report on Thursday, and although the president won't face criminal charges, the report alleged the president forgot key details of his life, including information surrounding his time as vice president and his son's death, during pertinent interviews while the probe was being conducted. Biden called an unusual press conference after the release where he sparred with reporters

While the report stated that such actions "present serious risks to national security,” Biden will not face charges because he presents himself as an “elderly man with a poor memory” and it would be difficult to convince a jury he is guilty of a serious felony because to commit such a crime “requires a mental state of willfulness.” The report elaborated by pointing out he couldn’t

Is 2024’s presidential battleground bigger than we think? So focused on the past, we have been overlooking the present’s obvious. Former President Donald Trump’s polling numbers indicate his support is not just deeper but regionally broader than expected. If this is true, it has major November implications. The 2016 and 2020 elections pivoted on five states: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. In 2016, Trump won them all, and the presidency’s determining electoral vote was 306 to 232. In 2020, Biden won them all, and the electoral vote was 306 to 232. Throw in 2020’s additional close states of Nevada (which Biden won) and North Carolina (which Trump

In a dramatic setback, House Republicans failed Tuesday to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, forced to shelve a high-profile priority — for now — after a few GOP lawmakers refused to go along with the party’s plan. The stunning roll call fell just a few votes short of impeaching Mayorkas, stalling the Republicans’ drive to punish the Biden administration over its handling of the U.S-Mexico border. With Democrats united against the charges, the Republicans needed almost every vote from their slim majority to approve the articles of impeachment. The House is likely to revisit plans to impeach Mayorkas, but next steps are highly uncertain.

Following Special Counsel Robert Hur’s report, which included stunning revelations of the deterioration of President Joe Biden’s mental state, Republican officials are calling to invoke the 25th Amendment. They state that “if ever there were a time to do so, now would be it,” and insist that if the president “is not competent to stand trial, then he is certainly not competent to lead the free world.” While highlighting evidence of America’s oldest ever president “willfully” mishandling classified documents, Special Counsel Hur’s report details Biden’s significant cognitive decline — perhaps more politically damning than his handling of classified materials.

Joe Biden, senior aides and political observers strongly criticised the special counsel, Robert Hur, for extensively discussing the president’s age and allegedly fading memory in his report on Biden’s retention of classified information from his time as a senator and as vice-president – which did not produce an indictment. Hur, who Donald Trump appointed US attorney for Maryland, “could not refrain from investigative excess”, said Bob Bauer, Biden’s personal counsel. Though this was “perhaps unsurprising given the intense pressures of the current political environment”, Bauer added, the final report “flouts Department [of Justice] regulations and norms”.

Joe Biden is seething. Today's report into his handling of confidential documents he took when he was a senator and vice president ruled out criminal charges, but it has raised other serious questions. It labelled Biden as a "sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory". After reading both the report and seeing the news coverage of it, the president knew he needed to counter the narrative. So he decided to utilise the bully pulpit of the presidency and called a hastily arranged press conference at the White House. "I know what the hell I am doing. I am president
