The Elyria mayor released a statement on the police department’s search of a Parmely Avenue home.[Snip]“I take seriously allegations of police misconduct. When those allegations involve a child I become deeply concerned. … All bodycam footage of this incident will be released to the public to the fullest extent permitted by law,”[Snip]The mayor’s statement stems from allegations from the tenants that police searched the wrong house and harmed an infant staying in the home.[Snip]Elyria police have disputed the family’s allegations. In a news release the department stated detectives, paramedics and Price assessed Waylon and confirmed he did not have any apparent injuries after police breached the home.

It wasn't a swat team...it was about 50 black clad, combat battle rattle, LARPING Leo's. THIS is what people are sending to random folks house when they "SWAT" them with fake calls.. In this case...the cops had visited several times looking for a black 14yo, they were told that his family had moved monthsif not years) ago, they had the wrong location...STILL they rolled in like it was a holdout of Hamas terrorists. WHAT did a 14yo do that this degree of assault force would have been logical anyway?

The police raided the wrong house and at the least are responsible for property damage and emotional distress. The family on the business end of this bungled police action deserve to be made whole.

The DESPICABLE nature of the Elyria Police Dept is apparently not the only criminal Office in Elyria, gotta add the mayor to that assessment. The person they were searching for moved out of that house over TWO YEARS AGO! Those garbage human beings need to be held accountable unto and including MILLIONS!

SWAT raids are dangerous to all concerned and often hurt the innocent as well as the alleged guilty. One day they are going to lose a lot of people due to booby traps and surprised homeowners and they might take it seriously enough to change this stupid amateurish tactic. Getting the wrong house is okay for mail delivery but not for a deadly police raid.

#5~ Having visited the city of Elyria throughout many years and having had passerby encounters with police officers, want to come to the defense of Elyria’s police officers in making clear that they appear to conscientious, dedicated, decent family-oriented men and women. Elyria is located in a Rust Belt with a 2024 population of 53,074. Residents had a “23.1% income below the poverty level in 2022, which was 41.9% greater than the poverty level of 13.4% across the entire state of Ohio.” Elyria’s SWAT team, like many cities in the Rust Belt, may not have funds for extensive state-of-the-art training and/or equipment that is available to cities with better economic conditions. Juxtapose police force responses to swatting and the most unfortunate situation in Elyria. In both a swatting call and pursuit of a criminal, police forces are sent to an address; a swatting call might result in officers forcing entry into the premises that might terrify and/or injure innocent dwellers; pursuit of a criminal to a last-known address is no different. In the Elyria incident, the current home owners said they told officers several times that the teenager being pursued no longer lived at that address—that property ownership had changed. There is NO reason to doubt that this family was being truthful, however, reality is there are some family members who would lie to protect their kin. With police officers having been told several times property ownership had changed, it is appropriate to question whether any effort was made by the Police Department to verify that property’s ownership, and/or other “leads” to the whereabouts of the teenager were made. Hearts and prayers go out for little Waylon. Although it may seem implausible, perhaps the need to transfer the child to a higher-ranked hospital, Cleveland’s Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital, may be a blessing in disguise. Perhaps there this precious little one will get an examination, diagnosis, and course of treatment that may be of greater benefit than what existed prior to this most unfortunate situation. Chances are the police officers involved in the raid have a heartfelt concern for the child as well. In conclusion, having visited Elyria through the years, feel compelled to point out that the location of the property involved is in an area that may not appeal to Ldotters as a safe location for personal residence. Police officer apprehension and safety venturing into such areas is necessary and understandable.

Elyria police executed a search warrant at a house Jan. 10 where officers used diversionary devices, which did not yield arrests, but a child was transported to a local medical center for a pre-existing condition which was unrelated to the tactical operation, according to a news release from Elyria police Lt. The joke is told about a poll taker who asks about ignorance and apathy in the country. "I don't know, and I don't care," says the respondent. The consequences of that attitude are playing out across America. There are two questions most reporters never seem to ask when it comes to mass demonstrations like the recent ones over the Israeli-Hamas War. One is whether they are spontaneous, or are they organized and subsidized by outside entities? Second, have large financial gifts from foreign entities and left-wing organizations compromised some universities that fear losing money should they speak up in ways that might offend the donors?

While Republican primary voters think Donald Trump is their best shot in November, it's Nikki Haley who right now holds a bigger lead over Joe Biden than either Trump or Ron DeSantis in potential head-to-head match-ups. In fact, as the GOP presidential nomination kicks off, Trump, Haley and DeSantis all have at least a slight national edge on President Biden right now, were they to emerge as his challenger. (Haley and DeSantis have tougher roads to get that chance, of course, since they trail Trump substantially in the race for the nomination.) What's behind Haley's lead? Here's why Haley has such a lead over Biden:

Video taken at the event on Saturday shows how the metal perimeter was shaken so hard that portions of it were shunted back, forcing secret service operatives to rush to one part to prevent a breach.

Officials at the Gateway Development Commission have publicly stated that by 2038 they will have finished digging and constructing the new tunnels and then rehabilitate the two existing trans-Hudson tubes, which were badly damaged by Superstorm Sandy. However, the audit performed for the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Transit Administration shows the work will likely take until 2040.
