FAA’s diversity push includes focus

The Federal Aviation Administration is actively recruiting workers who suffer “severe intellectual” disabilities, psychiatric problems and other mental and physical conditions under a diversity and inclusion hiring initiative spelled out on the agency’s website. “Targeted disabilities are those disabilities that the Federal government, as a matter of policy, has identified for special emphasis in recruitment and hiring,” the FAA’s website states. “They include hearing, vision, missing extremities, partial paralysis, complete paralysis, epilepsy, severe intellectual disability, psychiatric disability and dwarfism.”

You have to remember that ALL DEI hires at the FAA will receive immunity from any deaths or injuries suffered as a result of their "disabilities". The Government will always determine winners and losers. That's the Communist way.

If Biden is reelected, you'll have blind, psychotic air traffic controllers staffing the terminal radar approach control (TRACON) facilities.

I am a private pilot, but not flying since hurricane Katrina wrecked my airplane and 'put me out of the flying hobby'. One of my neighbors is an active airline pilot. After reading some other news articles regarding the FAA using 'DEI' to select candidates for air traffic controllers, I asked him if he had noted any changes in the ability of the air traffic controllers that he interacts with as a pilot. He told me that there is a marked difference in the new hires, He said he can tell when communicating over the radio. He told me that many of these people cannot handle the pressure if the traffic in their sector becomes busy, also many of them use unprofessional language.... he said that "many of them sound like they just came from the 'Hood". I have seen a couple articles recently criticizing the airlines' hiring 'DEI' candidates, but it seems to me that a greater danger is incompetent 'DEI hire' air traffic controllers. Hiring someone with a disability may be a 'noble' goal..... but the HAVE to be able to do the job. For instance, someone who is in a wheelchair could make a good ATC controller..... IF they have the mental and verbal ability .... being in a wheelchair makes no difference. But the FAA is deliberately criminally negligent if they hire someone for these positions that do not have the talent, the ability, to 'get the picture' of the traffic, and to communicate clearly to the pilots. Air Traffic Controllers is one critical position where only those with EXCELLENT ABILITY are good enough.

Given that only a small percentage of FAA jobs are in control towers, I can go with someone with paralyzed legs in a wheelchair being a clerk-typist or holding other office-type jobs. But what job can a fully paralyzed person perform in an office setting without assistance? Does the federal workforce really need those with "severe intellectual disability"? Don't we have enough in Congress? I'm also concerned about a workforce seeded with people suffering from "severe psychiatric disability". Didn't the phrase, "Going postal", come to us directly from the Federal work environment? Democrats - The Party of Death.

I took the one-month class to become an air traffic controller back in 1983 which determined who would be eligible to go to the FAA air traffic control school in Oklahoma. I can't imagine anyone with any kind of mental problems being able to do this. The final exam of the class was to be able to track at least six aircraft at a time keeping the aircraft not only in the proper position in the air but guiding them to a safe landing. It was a lot more difficult than I expected. Keeping the aircraft coming from different directions, altitude, speed all heading toward the same airport. The first thing the instructor told the class was the job required one to forget about all the people on the planes. Just concentrate on the aircraft.

A job that is among the most stressful in the world, maybe of all time, and you want to put people with mental health problems in? For example, someone who would “what if crashed these two panes into each other…”? You can not make this stuff up. Almost as suicidal as opening the southern border to anyone and anthing.

Wow, I might be one of the last ambulatory, white males to have been offered a job with the FAA. Even back then they were telling me it was "lucky" they could push through the job offer, due to their "diversity" push. I can tell you that even within the Engineering ranks today, there's not much independent, critical thinking being expressed by younger hires, compared to twenty years ago. The old guard has retired and the new kids are well on their way to ruining the "brand." If things are not looking good at the FAA, I can only predict a much worse situation at the other Agencies, such as NTSB. The Federal obsession with "race" and "fairness" and not "excellence" and "professionalism" is going to create a bunch of "smoking holes" across the fruited plain.

Back in the good old days of Roe v. Wade (unless you were a fetus) we paid poor people to have abortions. Ok, we didn’t pay the money directly to them, but instead paid it through Medicaid to their abortionist. Abortions that were not paid for by Medicaid were almost always paid for by private insurance or were done for free at abortion clinics as a “public service.” It’s safe to say that the killing of hardly any babies was paid for by the mother, except perhaps in a lifelong emotion way. That’s the way we set up the system. We didn’t want such women to have babies.
