We all know the routine. Water-saving toilets that don’t flush (flush twice), water/energy-saving dishwashers and clothes washers that don’t clean (run two cycles), lightbulbs that don’t light, dryers that don’t dry (run twice), and all the ancillary nonsense that comes from the intervention of the regulatory state.
What Biden and the progressive movement call the “green new deal” effort toward “sustainability,” including the ban on gas stoves and internal combustion engines, simply results in a diminished quality of life, a loss in lifestyle productivity, and the exact opposite outcome from their expressed/intended purpose. It’s an abject mess of stupidity, pushed under the guise of environmentalism.

Has anybody seen Congress lately???
I am sure our representatives would put a stop to this nonsense instantly.
If they weren't getting so many kickbacks...

Say it with me: 'The energy savings over 30 years of shipments is 5.6 quadrillion British thermal units, '
Be glad for that. Didn't he do this already? My my energy saving dish washer takes almost 3 hours per load.

Dear, Lord. Please make them leave us alone. My washer is useless, the toilet is a joke and I can hand wash my dishes in 75% less time than it takes the dishwasher. When you have to use these appliances twice it doesn't save sh**. The country is a mess and this is what the political elite is focused on? Waiting for them to f up my Keurig and electric can opener. Trust me they will try. Go away and leave us alone.

My neighbor across the street had a client that "follows the leader" bought a new $6,000+ all electric range/oven and PAID him to haul away their 2 year old Viking gas range/oven which had cost around $6,000.
Needless to say...if it doesn't go into his kitchen? It will be going into mine.
Mine is already gas, we'd have to run a gas line in to his. Though he may choose to mount it on his deck instead where gas is already run, and build a small roof structure over it.

My dryer is useless—the “sensors” shut it off when it thinks the load is dry. Just try to add more time to a load that isn’t fully dry! Things like jeans are NEVER fully dry. I hate it. When I finally figure out how to outsmart it, I’ve run it twice as long. And the washer with its “water saving” feature—the dumb thing fills a bit, stops (“ka-chunk” goes the pipe), fills a bit more, stops, ka-chunk…etc. That can’t be good for the pipes! The dishwasher takes HOURS…it’s all crap. All of it. And don’t get me started on multiple flushes on the toilets and taking a shower double the normal time to rinse all the shampoo and soap off…STAY OUT OF IT.

Regarding #2, maybe because as bad is we get with Republicans, it's even worse when Dems are completely unopposed. Lesser of two evils..

Rotten pukes make EVERYTHING work more poorly, in the name of "reducing carbon emmissions", which are A BENEFIT to all green plants, and do NOT contribute their imaginary 'global warming'.

We use a very old, but high quality top loader clothes washer. It works GREAT. Same for the old model gas dryer....no government fiddling, so it works well. We have a 15 year old dishwasher, the previous one came in the house, was a cheapo but lasted for 25 years. The newer is much quieter....and runs for two freaking hours. Our cold boxes are OK, not much problems with government regs on them. But an ancient one in the basement still makes cold and is probably 30+ years old. The plastic interior is starting to fail, but the compressor just soldiers on decade after decade.
New appliances are expensive junk. Find older units in good condition and hang on to them. If you can't fix them yourself (I can) find someone who can. They are WORTH fixing.

In 1981 I bought a used GE washer for my wife. It lasted us over ten years and was at least that old when we bought it. We've never had one anywhere near as good since then. Our current one doesn't even submerge all the clothes. The instructions say thats normal. I say its carp.

#13, same with my old Maytags (THIRTY years old when we finally had to replace them). When there was a problem (very rarely) the repairman could open the front of the washer or dryer and replace a belt, maybe, or a bolt or something. Not now, with computerized mechanisms. Each cycle runs forever. And I often have to run through a shorter cycle because I need make sure to get all the soap out.
Beyond simply our conveniences and preferences, everything Biden and his cohorts do robs us of more freedom, and NOT just purchasing preferences, but the FREEDOM itself to choose, for manufacturers to build the best products, in other words, they have replaced, or are in the process of replacing, the free market economy with a fascist "command-and-control" economy, what ALL fascist totalitarians demand to have. The WEF is the global focal point. Petty dictators across the planet, including our very own, are eager to be part of the usurpation of national borders, constitutions and economic and political systems, SELLING THEIR SOULS for money, wealth, power, and sending their citizenry down the drain, over the cliff, into oblivion.
We must call our Congressmen. Whether we think it matters or not (I have heard some exhort us to call, saying it really does matter). They need to hear from us.

#7 Gotta say it - Voting for the lesser of two evils is still voting for evil. We have been using this excuse to keep voting again and again for republicans and in the long run look at what we got - More Evil. We have to change our voting habits to make sure republicans who demonstrate that they will not represent us and will allow the communist death democrats to destroy us must be swiftly removes. No more lesser of two evils.

Fun article. But I must take issue with a couple of the comments. The industry terms for the colors were Harvest Gold, yes; but Avocado, not Olive Green. I was there.
