Should Blacks be paid slavery reparations

Many Black activists are agitating for two things. One, they want reparations for the enslavement of some of their ancestors centuries ago, a small fraction of which is to be paid by the people whose ancestors were the enslavers, and a large fraction of which is to be paid by people like me whose ancestors back then were raiding rival clans in the Scottish Highlands without ever setting eyes on a Black person in their entire poor, nasty, brutish and short lives. Two, they want to reinstitute racial segregation. They want Black dorm buildings in college, Black classes, Black this and Black that,

Living in America IS the reparation. Period. Otherwise they are welcome to the fetid, disease ridden tropical swamps from where their ancestors came/ were brought.

They weren't enslaved so they are not entitled to anything for enslavement. As for Segregation it would be the best thing in the world. White kids grades would go up significantly without blacks there dragging down the classes because the class has to be taught to the dumbest one there. Blacks would probably do better also as the ones who cannot behave could be dealt with without them crying discrimination. Of course it won't happen. Not in public school.

There is no legitimate argument for giving untold millions to people who were never slaves. And I honestly think that since slavery is still a thing in parts of Africa, they really should be grateful to be living here as regular Americans. No one living in this country right now is due reparations.

Question for the black activists. What are they asking of the black chief who caged their fellow brethren and hustled them down to the boats of the Portuguese so that they can get their hand on the beads that they brought. Every country in Europe had slaves. White slaves. Russia had the most. Do these people also agitate to get paid because they were called souls, moujiks. Oh I forgot, they got on with their lives. What about white missionaries who taught blacks how to read and write. Forget arithmetic, dad be raciss'. Many missionaries did not get around to teaching anything, they became a succulent meal. Perhaps their families should go after the African killer tribes.

No. American slavery ended because of an ocean of blood shed by white Americans. It was not ended by Black Americans, and for that, slavery continues in Africa, and Black Americans are doing zero about it. .... Most Americans these days are newcomers who had nothing to do with it all one way or the other. Furthermore. What you pay for you will get more of. If racial division pays, there will be more racial division. Absolutely not. No.

Give every black adult 40 acres of land tomorrow in an in 15 years, 80-90% would be right back in the inner city, doing what they do today. The good black folks would make the best of it, but they are already educated, gainfully employed, part of the solution, not part of the problem. The rest would sell it quickly for cash and then blow the cash. Look at Ben Carson as the perfect example. Poor, single mom upbringing....but he didn't give in to the inner city disaster culture. And he's a heroic brain surgeon of the highest caliber. Anyone in that situation who tried hard could do this, too. Handouts don't change the person.

The governor of Texas says his state is being “invaded” and that under the Constitution he has the right to defend his border. On the first point, millions of people are indeed unlawfully crossing the border into Texas. Joe Biden refuses to do anything about it. In fact, he seems to be encouraging it. He stopped construction of Donald Trump’s border wall, reversed the “stay in Mexico” policy which required immigrants seeking asylum to remain in Mexico pending a decision by American authorities, and, to the extent he accidentally catches illegal immigrants, he usually lets them go

Back in the good old days of Roe v. Wade (unless you were a fetus) we paid poor people to have abortions. Ok, we didn’t pay the money directly to them, but instead paid it through Medicaid to their abortionist. Abortions that were not paid for by Medicaid were almost always paid for by private insurance or were done for free at abortion clinics as a “public service.” It’s safe to say that the killing of hardly any babies was paid for by the mother, except perhaps in a lifelong emotion way. That’s the way we set up the system. We didn’t want such women to have babies.

Six days ago, Donald Trump’s lawyers filed a 34-page brief in the Supreme Court. In legal-speak, their brief is called a “petition for certiorari.” It asks the U.S. Supreme Court to review the 4-3 decision by the Colorado Supreme Court banning Trump from the Colorado ballot. (The brief is available, in full, at the Supreme Court website.)  This case presents one of the most important legal and political issues of this century: Whether a state can exclude a national candidate from the state’s ballot on the grounds that he committed a federal crime that he was never convicted of or even charged with. But the media has largely ignored Trump’s brief.

Two thousand years ago, a carpenter lived a conventional life for 30 years in a tiny village in the Middle East. Then something got into him. He became, as they might say today, “radicalized” for the last three years of his short life. Historians agree that Jesus did exist. There are reliable ancient records of him. But most of what we know are opaque and contradictory accounts written decades after his death in what we now call the Gospel of the New Testament. In one sense, those Gospel accounts are profoundly simple. They say Jesus was the Messiah prophesized in the Hebrew Bible.

A well-coordinated, well-funded, and high-powered network of leftist organizations, led by a group whose efforts 2016 Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Rodham Clinton promoted, is behind the push to remove former President Donald Trump, the 2024 frontrunner for president from any party, from the ballot, Breitbart News has learned. But it’s much broader than that: For years, this network of leftists grew from a powerful vast left-wing conspiracy unmasked a decade ago into now being the dominating force on the left determined to stop Trump at all costs. At least 70 percent of registered Chicago voters say they do not approve of far-left mayor Brandon Johnson’s performance after his first eight months in office, according to a new poll. The poll, conducted for the education-reform advocacy group Stand for Children, was designed to measure Chicagoans’ opinions on school-choice policy. However, the poll also contained generalized questions about the performance of local politicians. Voters were asked “how you feel each of the following is performing” in response to a list of names that included “Brandon Johnson as Chicago Mayor,” according to poll results obtained by the Chicago Sun-Times. Stand for Children has not publicly released its poll data on local politicians.
