Washington state Democrats are proposing to outlaw new gas-powered lawn equipment, like leaf blowers, with legislation that could land violators in jail. A bill pre-filed by state Rep. Amy Walen, D-Kirkland, would amend the state's Clean Air Act to ban new "gasoline-powered and diesel-powered landscaping and other outdoor power equipment." The bill states that gas-powered lawn equipment contributes to climate change and claims such tools cause a range of health problems, including asthma, hearing loss and other issues, KTTH's Jason Rantz reported. Under the proposed law, the Washington state Department of Ecology would have a Jan. 1, 2026, deadline to

Probably the lawmakers were annoyed by the noise illegal immigrant workers make while moving leaves from one pile to another on their neighbor’s lawn. They should just do it with a rake, like Grandpa and the plantation owners did. The State of Washington is nearly as pathetic as the District of Columbia.

It’s liberal overreach for sure but I can’t stand these things. My lazy neighbors hire these immigrant run and staffed yard care services and these guys run these 95 decibel commercial leaf blowers constantly. There is no such thing as a peaceful summer afternoon or Saturday morning in America any more thanks to these things. Ban em all.

Confession: I hate em. Not just leaf blowers but landscapers in general. Everything they do sounds like the Guns of Navarone. They double park in front of your house and make you squeeze outa your own drive way. It's all bad. I's sorry. I know it's unAmerican. I can't help it.

"Diesel-powered landscaping and other outdoor power equipment" could include industrial earthmoving and construction equipment like bulldozers and excavators unless it's specifically excluded. Washington demonrats could be about to kill all new construction of any kind. I wouldn't put it past them, but per Hanlon's Razor, never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

The only way the climate change control freaks, a group of timid wanna-be communists, implement their destructive, civilization-destroying policies, eliminating all hydrocarbon-based fuels, should only be after their believers and followers win a bloody civil war against the normal people of what is left of the free world. Besides, even the dementia-ridden Biden should still realize how stupid it is to shut down all carbon-based energy sources within the U.S. while China is building new coal-fired plants at near light speed. Does Biden believe that the air above China is restricted to remain only over China? The very notion of "settled science" with regard to man's impact on the various Earth climates is the antithesis of science, which is characterized by adherence to the scientific method, which is always challenging assumptions, particularly those born of "conventional wisdom,"which is the hallmark of the climate controllers. Politicians within the US and abroad, now claim the mantle of arbiters of science, settled and otherwise. The same politicians who cannot tell a male from a female expect to be trusted in their head-long quest to eliminate the very backbone of modern civilization by causing normal people to sit and watch as families starve and economic systems crash as a direct result of their non-scientific policies destroying the modern world, leveling all countries and cultures to third-world status. Normal people will not go quietly into the dark ages, but the climate control freaks are betting their lives that their inner totalitarian tendencies will frighten the non-believers into quiet submission. I think a bloody, all-out war, with clear cut winners and losers, is actually preferable to voluntarily marching into ovens in the name of sustainability, on the ignorant words of Al Gore, John Kerry, and Joe Biden.

I have a backpack blower. Leaves on my long driveway must be removed. If they get covered in ice or snow, plates are formed, very difficult to remove. Getting the frozen stuff up is a big deal on the slope I deal with. I mulch the yard leaves, big yard, loud commercial mower. Bob's you uncle.

WASHINGTON — The United States experienced a dramatic 12% increase in homelessness as soaring rents and a decline in coronavirus pandemic assistance combined to put housing out of reach for more Americans, federal officials said Friday. About 653,000 people were experiencing homelessness during the January snapshot. That’s the highest number since the country began using the yearly point-in-time survey in 2007 to count the homeless population. The total represents an increase of about 70,650 homeless people compared to January 2022. The latest estimate also indicated that people becoming homeless for the first time were behind much of the increase, and

Dr. Claudine, current President of Harvard University, is one lucky woman or, as she might describe herself a “a lucky woman of color.” She first survived her dreadful testimony before the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, where she refused to unambiguously denounce calls from Harvard students and faculty to kill all Israeli Jews. It was an embarrassing performance filled with weasel words and amorphous defenses such as “it all depends on context” as if genocide might be legitimate in some circumstances. Gay’s second lucky break was to survive clear-cut evidence that she was a career plagiarist, and this scholarly dishonesty far exceeded inadvertent sloppiness.
